I have been going to this place for at least 5 years and spend about $180 a month. I love it when Vivian does my nails, and I go every two weeks. However, for the last three times I've been there, Vivian has made nasty comments about my appearance, saying that I am too skinny and asking if I eat. This is despite the fact that I tip her $15 for a gel manicure. I'm not sure if she is unhappy with her own weight because she has mentioned wanting to lose weight. As a woman, I believe we should not be body-shaming each other. I have a lot I could say to her, but I haven't. She makes me uncomfortable and makes me feel like there is something wrong with me. I just don't understand why she feels the need to comment about my weight. It's a shame that she makes me want to stop going there. read more

I appreciate this mail spa. They were busy, had many walk ins and were on schedule for my appointment. Pretty close to what I asked for, except could have been more careful for air bubbles. Compared to other local salons, this would have costed $65+ (I called around). This took one hour start to finish, and they did a 5 second hand massage/ back massage. One thing I will add they really strived to make my nails exactly like the picture, but they didn't shape them correctly. Also the air bubbles, I asked them to fix, and they said they weren't there. No frills nail salon. For location, it is affordable. I usually get the gel mani pedi. The mani is $30 and pedi is $45. Their pedicures are nice- complimentary hot stone. They also have a large selection of nail colors. Unfortunately, some techs can be very aggressive with nail clipping and filing. Sometimes my gel manicure is taken off with acetone and sometimes with a nail drill. I prefer acetone but they always begin without offering me the choice. I've also had staff get offended and even more aggressive after providing my preferences. The reason I am giving three stars is because my visits have either been hit or miss. And when they're a miss, it's real bad. Even when I've requested the same nail tech, there is lack of consistency. read more

Best manicure! I walked in without an appointment around 145pm and they sat me right away. Elizabeth was so sweet and did an amazing job. I highly recommend her! She is meticulous in her practice. She's now my go to girl. I'm updating this review because I'm appalled at the quality of service here. I arrived at 745 for a regular mani pedi and they waited until 8pm to see me even though I heard a couple of employees in the back room who sounded like they were horsing around. At 905 my manicure was done and they put quick dry on my nails as they all scurried to get their things together since they close at 930. At 915 the last employee gathered her things and basically pushed me out the door and told me my nails were dry and it was time to leave. Came here out of convenience - they were really close to where I live. The interior is very nice - it seems super clean and swanky, and it's also extremely large. There's about two rows of massage chairs, and an additional row of manicure stations. Despite the spaciousness, Bleu manages to seem pretty busy a lot of the time. They have a really large staff, so there's always someone free. This particular salon is Chinese, and the staff tends to be pretty chatty with each other. I've never heard them say anything about the patrons though - it's mostly chatting about their own lives and stuff like that. They're on the pricier side - $35 for a mani-pedi combo, which is quite a premium when you can get a perfectly good mani-pedi at $20. I haven't gotten my nails done here before, but from the looks of it they do a lot of extras - massages why you wait for your nails to dry, rose petals in the pedicure tub, the little lotion gloves. They also have a special which they advertise heavily - free lip or eyebrow wax if you get a mani-pedi Monday through Thursday, as well as free champagne on the other days. Everything seems very sanitary. I always came here for the $10 for 10 minute massages, which are really great. They always give you some extra time too and are really receptive of your input. read more

They appear to take cleanliness serious, with plenty of plastic/plexiglass partitions to limit breathing on each other. The mani-pedi was thorough, and my nails look great. Ok so I have been a regular here for about a year and their services have always been great until the last few times I have gotten a Mani/Pedi. The last Pedi I had, the lady was so careless she somehow cut into my toe, which bled profusely and she kept dabbing with an alcohol q-tip. I felt a bit sick as it hurt! I didn't have my glasses with me so I couldn't see the extent until I was at home. Disappointed that she didn't even mention the cut until the very end and still charged me full price for the Pedi AND a 20% tip. I was horrified when I got home: 3 days later, you can see it is still irritated and uncomfortable in shoes. This is literally a dream find for anyone who actually cares about cleanliness when getting manicures and pedicures in NYC. They use the sanitary pedicure tub liners, sterilize all metal implements in an autoclave and have one time use files and buffers. They also have one time use keratin gloves and socks for manicures and pedicures. They put rose petals in the pedicure water which is a nice touch. They also had bananas and starburst out on a Sunday visit. They offer a rewards program too. Alice was fabulous and I will definitely only come here from now on. It was worth every penny and I still felt the prices at about 36 for a manicure and pedicure were reasonable for the city. I stopped by to get a gel manicure and it wasn't done too well by the first manicurist but it was something I could live with it, however The manicurist next to the one who did my nails looked at it and called the boss lady over who got all pissy about the poor work the initial person did and her having to jump in and fix it. So she got to work and was trying to fix 6 out of 10 nails. She was digging at my nails and cutting my cuticles to the point where it was causing me pain. So not only did I have to stick my hands under the UV light for double the amount of time, my nails ended up looking even more like crap. Looks like it's melting off my nails. They didn't give me a discount or anything. I was too nice and I felt bad that the initial person who did my nails was getting attitude from the boss lady who actually ended up doing a shittier job. Rather than remove the entire thing and start all over, she just filed most of it down and repainted. I'm sold!! I have a nail salon directly next to my building but I decided to research my options on yelp. Bleu spa had great reviews and it was close by so off I went. The minute I walked in, one of the attendants stopped what she was doing and greeted me. I wanted a gel manicure and they had a decent selection of colors. I loved how they offered tea, coffee or water and half way in, I was offered this again by someone else. The lady took out nail tools and they were in sanitizing bags!! She inspected them and I guess they weren't up to par with cleanliness so she grabbed a new set. This is a total deal maker--you know it's a good sign when the salon cares about keeping tools sanitary. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that my lady was too rough when pushing back my cuticles. Other than that, she was really meticulous with cleaning up my nails and neatly applying the layers of color. She had me inspect my nails for approval before applying the color and after applying two layers she offered a third if I wanted. Awesome to have these options and to be asked for input!! Midway, another attendant put a warm neck pillow around me and it felt great. To my surprise, my lady gave me a short but sweet neck massage -- heaven!!! I was absolutely satisfied with my experience here. The decor is welcoming and it's clean and sleek. I was offered a membership card and basically for every dollar you spend, you earn 3% in credit. 100% the best nail spa in the area. Got a French manicure and regular pedicure from Nicole and she was so careful and wonderful. She advised me on polish and was very delicate with my feet. They do a lot more things other spas don't, like giving you these warm gloves with cream, providing coffee and tea and massages while you wait for your nails to dry. It took me a while for the mani pedi (2 hours) so don't expect to get sent away fast. They also have free eyebrow or lip wax with mani pedis Monday to Friday! The first time I went I got a manicure, which actually lasted 3 or 4 days without chipping. I just recently got a pedicure here and they did a great job on it. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and they have a membership card that earns "cash back" that can be redeemed once you earn $10 or more. I also really like that the do the keratin gloves for both manicures and pedicures; they were a nice addition. They also put rose petals into the pedicure tubs, which is another nice touch. The ambiance of the place is also very relaxing and they have tea, coffee, fruit, candy, and a good selection of magazines. I used to go to black label nails on 3rd ave. After feeling rushed through the service the past few times, I decided to give bleu spa a try since it's only a block away from my apt. The manicure+pedicure price is slightly higher than black label nails at $35, but they give you a $3 off coupon at the front desk so it will only cost you $32. They give you heated keratin plastic gloves (for both hands and feet) that has the keratin lotion in it. They use hot stone to massage your feet which I find relaxing. They also give you a shoulder massage when you dry your nails. They did a good job with my manicure and pedicure. If the manicure lasts more than a week, I would definitely go back again! The selection of nail polish is a bit limited, but I would chalk it up to it being opened for only a month. Overall, this is a good nail salon addition to the neighborhood. Ooooooo....you get a free eyebrow or lip wax if you get manicure+pedicure service Monday through Thursday. read more

I had a French manicure by Alice who did an excellent job. She also arranged the payment before applying paint so I wouldn't fumble for money later with just dried nails. I also got a 10 minute massage while my nails were drying and it was really relaxing. I recommend including this to make your experience even more special. The salon was clean and not too noisy. I walked in for a regular manicure and they took me right away. They give you warm Keratin gloves that leave your hands feeling very soft. My manicurist gave a great hand massage and didn't rush at all with the manicure. She took her time making sure it was perfect and that's exactly how it turned out. she also gave a thorough massage while my nails were drying. They have a 10 minute chair massage for $10.50. YALL. THIS MASSAGE IS EPIC. it has changed my day from a crap day to a happy day many times. The wonderful ladies of Bleu Spa begin with the shoulders (where i hold most of my tension) and go up and down my back. They even massage my arms and scalp before its over with. Once the time goes off..they dont immediately stop. They finish you up for another 2-3 minutes and then pop your back. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Work can be stressful and challenging..if you work around this little spa, go during your lunch break and leave all your stresses behind and become a renewed human being. I have yet to find a nail salon in NYC with friendly staff though so if you know of one, holler at me. I am always satisfied with the job the technicians at Bleu Spa do. Price is a bit higher than other establishments but the interior is nice and the place is clean. I wish they offered manicure gloves or lotion with SPF for my hands before I put them in the machine for gel manicures. Constant exposure to the UV rays add up and can damage the skin. read more
