I paid hundreds for a LASIO keratin treatment and this was honestly one of the most ridiculous experiences I've had. From the moment I walked in, this stylist/owner told me he has the answer to "fix" my hair when I didn't ask for any advice and started telling me I was using the wrong shampoo and conditioner. I explained multiple times I had come in quickly and didn't style my hair much because I was literally getting a keratin treatment. That was ignored. He kept overriding everything I was saying. He even tried to say my regular stylist (who is actually the best I've ever had) was doing my cut wrong, without knowing anything about my hair history or that I've been growing it out from a bad cut while traveling. So either he didn't understand the situation, or he chose not to listen, neither is acceptable. The first treatment didn't work at all, so I had to come back spending another few hours in the chair when I'm already very busy. Literally no apology just trying to flip it back that it must be my fault or that no one else ever had has this type of issue. Second appointment, same issues. Not enough product, not close enough to the root, not properly passing sections, and then skipping the ends because he decided they were "already straight." They were not, they were puffy. The only reason the top ended up even close to acceptable is because I had to micromanage the entire appointment and repeatedly tell him what to fix. Either the technique wasn't correct, or he ignored direct feedback in real time, again, neither is acceptable. He kept framing everything as me being "picky," even in unrelated conversation (like what bars I like). I'm not picky, I have standards. There is a basic framework for how things should be done. A martini follows a method. A keratin treatment follows a method. You don't freepour and expect a precise result. ESPECIALLY when the client has been doing this for 20 years and knows her own hair. So either he doesn't follow a consistent process, or he dismisses clients who do, both are a problem. At one point he was arguing with me about women's rights experiences globally while actively not listening to a woman sitting in his chair explaining what was happening with her own hair. The irony speaks for itself. When I raised issues, it was constant deflection. "Maybe it's your hair." "Where did you get your last one done?" Just question after question instead of fixing the problem. He even said, "see, it's straighter now after the clarifying shampoo," implying I must be wrong, when that had nothing to do with it. The issue was that it wasn't sealed properly. So either he doesn't understand what actually causes the result, or he was trying to shift blame, neither builds trust. Now I'm home and the ends are still puffy. Two long treatments, and I'm left with some of the worst results I've had. And now I've had two aggressive treatments back to back, so I can't even redo it for at least another month without risking damage. This whole experience felt like dealing with someone who thinks they know what they're doing but isn't actually executing properly, and then argues instead of listening. I fully expect a response here deflecting everything I've said with some kind of "rationale," because that's exactly how the entire appointment went. I came in expecting a professional service and instead had to oversee the entire process myself. I would not recommend. read more

I just got my hair cut here. I'm not by who; I didn't catch her name. But there were a few things I really didn't appreciate. She kept telling me how to wash and treat my hair, which some people might like but I am not a fan of. My biggest frustration, though, was when she went to blow dry my hair. I do not like the round brush (also an unpopular opinion). I don't like how it makes my hair look. It always ends up frizzy and I end up looking like Toddlers in Tiara's. So I asked her not to use it. She was very confused - like she did not know how to dry hair without it. Then she started using it anyway. I had to ask her to stop, at which point she gave up. I then had to explain to her that I still wanted dry hair, just not with the brush. She still didn't get it. So I left the salon with half wet hair in 30 degree weather. These are probably instances that are particular to me. My overall frustration stems from not being listened to. I also just don't really care for the cut. I don't think it was worth $83, although it is relatively affordable for the UWS. read more

I was able to get a last minute appointment for a cut and color. Because I had lost some weight, my cut was simply unflattering to my facial shape and I just looked helplessly at Lidiya. She knew what to do! She gave me soft curls around the face with long layers and fixed my awful home dye job the best anyone could be reasonably expected to. I got So many compliments from my students. You know 3rd graders will tell you the truth and they all liked the cut. Thank you Lidiya! I will be back! read more

I live super close so I decided to give this salon a try, despite being pretty nervous about going places (global pandemic and whatnot). They looked super clean, and the staff always has a mask on. I figured it's time to finally do something for me. I was not disappointed. Vlad cut my hair and gave me the sleekest blow dry ever. My hair has so much movement and even my husband (who never notices ANYTHING) said I look great. I'm definitely going to get their blow dry package- super great deal! This is my go-to salon. Anna is a skilled stylist and styles my hair to match my personality. After my visit yesterday, as soon as I walked through the entrance of my building, both doormen said, "Wow, your hair looks great!" The salon is spotless, comfortable, and NEVER crowded. Love, love, love this place Anna was wonderful. She listened to what I wanted but also made a lot of really great suggestions. I was able to book an appointment same day and the prices are pretty reasonable for NYC. All the employees were very kind and accommodating. As a blonde I've had a few bad dye jobs at other salons and they really know what they are doing here.
