I had been growing my hair out for four…read moreyears; it was mid-back length and I came in asking for a professional, office-appropriate haircut with a wash, blow-dry, and styling. Unfortunately, the result was not what I asked for. My hair is now uneven, with the front cut up to mid-throat length while the back sits around shoulder length, leaving it looking like an unintentional, poorly blended bob. The cut is difficult to style and doesn't look polished. In addition, the service didn't match what was requested. Instead of a proper blow-dry and style as requested. My hair was simply flat-ironed straight and flat with no real shaping or finishing. I paid about $75 and left feeling very unhappy. I'll now have to go somewhere else to get it fixed, likely cutting it even shorter just to make it look even and presentable. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially after spending years growing out my hair. I wouldn't return based on this visit nor would I suggest this along to anybody that I considered a friend.

The ladies at Maribel, specially Griselda did an awesome job, give me suggestions of how to bring my hair to life.. Now I have a awesome hair, I get compliments ALL the time. Griselda makes sure I get what my hair needs and obviously make me look awesome! They do my haircuts, dye my hair, my highlighting and keratin treatment.. princess treatment! Is just like going to a family members who genuinely care for you and not for your pocket. Also my teen loves to get haircuts, there Nancy and the other ladies make sure he gets what he wants how he wanted, mind you he is picky but the ladies never fail to do anything but an awesome job!! What is love the most is not only the way they treat you, like family but they are honest and don't try to overcharge you or try to sell you products. Also they give you honest advise, what makes you look good, not magical promises.

Brittany is amazing…read more Pros: - Brittany is a bonified certified DevaCut Specialist - she's so knowledgeable about the various textures & types of Curly Girls - she was amazing with my Super Curly (aka kinky textured, 4a 4b) - she walked me through step by step of what she was doing - she was soooo quick, it took her about 1 hr & 1/2 (which typically takes me all day!) - I left prepared with a Deva Curl "prescription" specifically for my hair, telling me which products to get - I learned techniques I never knew before - she's such a friendly sweet lady Cons: - Absolutely none !!! ... well maybe that i live in CA & she's located in TX, haha!! But that's not her fault. I live in California, but was visiting family in Texas. I've been researching getting a DevaCut for a few years now... But it's kinda a scary thing to do when you've grown up for years as a Black woman not having "proper" education about "your" kind of hair. Being only given Damaging options of Relaxers and Weave and Braids and Wigs (which I refuse) OR Heat Damaging options of Blow Outs, Flat Irons, Press and Curls. So while in town, I just researched DevaCut on Yelp and low and behold Brittany came up with these great reviews. I called on Wed and she gave me an appointment for Friday! Woo hoo! My instructions were to come dry & detangled. I arrived early because I was nervous and excited and didn't want to be late. Brittany put me in rotation as she was finishing another client (who was also getting a DevaCut for the first time). I told her my struggles & to just work her magic (I figured if I was going to go for it, why interfere with her judgement of what needed to be trimmed...). I don't think she ever used a brush or comb - & she educated me on this . The products smell so good, don't leave gooky residue & I'm sold. She also recommended a great book that has great tips for those transitioning into healthy hair. I bought the products she had in stock & I'll buy the rest on Amazon. I'm excited about this journey. While I was getting my cut I mentioned that I had recently got highlights at another salon that were pretty underwhelming and I was curious to know if she could give me what I wanted. So I booked a Saturday for my color and Brittney hooked me up!!! She patiently worked to correct the previous color and gave me exactly what I wanted. And I love love love the results! If you have curly or wavy hair and live in the Cypress, Tomball, or Katy areas, you have to go see Brittney! I noticed broken off hair and damaged hair immediately after she was done and when I texted her about my scalp she didn't even bother returning my text. Pretty terrible!
