I wanted to get a long overdue haircut and this place was close to where I was headed so I stopped by. Little did I know they were closing at almost the exact same time I walked up. I asked if they had time for one more and they said sure, come on in. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure I got the haircut I desperately needed. I am never ever going back there again! The two older ladies are DISGUSTINGLY HORRIBLE!!! I look like Simple Jack from Tropic Thunder. I am going on a birthday date tonight and she butchered the hell out of my head, you can see by the pics absolutely unacceptable! No tip, no justice, just a hat for the next month, so upset! It's that time again...scheduled maintenance . Been coming here for years. Prior to going to Bruce for my hair care needs, I had a stylist I went to for 10+ years! Bruce did a better job and been going since. He always has the same closing,"good for a thousand miles...". Not the place to go to if you're looking to get a clean, even fade. I went one time to the elderly woman and asked for a medium skin fade. She proceeded to give me a very high skin fade and even started cutting some hair off the top. I decided to give it another shot and specifically mentioned a medium skin fade NOT a high skin fade. I was just as disappointed and will be looking for a different barber for my next haircut. read more

Just went to this place for a trim. I asked the lady to just trim the sides and back. I'd been growing my hair out for almost a year because I finally left a military like job and was happy to finally be able to grow my hair out. It was just a little past my collar and the top was maybe 4-5 inches long. I left there looking like a boot camp marine!!!! I didn't even tell her to touch the top, but when I felt the clippers up there, I knew it was too late. I am thoroughly pissed!!!! Now I gotta start from scratch again. Horrible place to go they cut my brothers hair and it wasnt even a fade. All uneven it looked HORRIBLE!Also the lady cut herself and bled all over my brother. After calling and driving to several place to find a babershop for my son. I stumbled upon Sals. I called to inquire about availability and prices. The lady was very sweet and welcoming. Usually get what you pay for but the lady on the left most side does an atrocious job and should not be a barber. Jacked my hair up, clipped all the way up when i asked for a medium height, crooked with no real sign of a clean fade including jagged lines and different levels hair length,crooked line up when i never asked for one. Bruce... Bruce has been my (and most of R.S. Diego's) Barber for the past nine years. So it was a very sad day when I had to tell him last month I was moving out of the state. I'm sure it's tough for women to change hairdressers, but it's brutal for men because of the frequency and bonds we develop while getting dappered up. An extraordinary gentleman who goes out of his way to get you the cut and look you're going for, I could always count on Bruce. I've spent hours with Bruce talking about life, S.D. culture, triathlons, all while getting a quick, clean and very well done haircut. Sal's is great. I go from having very long hair past my shoulders to having no hair at all. Sal's always listens to what I want and they make it look good. They are perfectly affordable ($8 for beard and trim? they do it right!, where else can you find this quality and pricing these days?) They are cash only but cannot be beat.
