Remember the Flowbee? When I sat down in the chair at this quaint little barbershop in the Bostonia area of El Cajon, I couldn't believe this guy broke out a Flowbee and started to cut my hair. I was having flashbacks of the Suck-Cut from Wayne's World. "It sucks as it cuts". This in and of itself was worth the price of admission. Party on! The barber did eventually go to traditional clippers and scissors to finish the job. In the end, the haircut was exactly what I had asked for, even if we did have to make a trip back in time to get it done. The shop was clean and the service was friendly. I didn't have an appointment and walked right in. It was just a short wait and then I was on my way into the chair and ready to hop into the Time Machine. These guys are great! For $7 they take 45 mins to do a men's cut! They spare no expense and want to give you the best cut possible, I ended up giving the guy a $7 tip for a $7 cut! I had to! He did such a great job and explained what he was doing and why, they will fight for your business and they have earned mine!! read more

They do a good job on skin fades. They have good machines that cut efficiently and don't over heat. Great prices as well.

First time here to get my hair cut. #2 on the side faded to a #4 on top. There was only one other customer there so I was in and out within 10 minutes. Paid $8 for the haircut. He (don't know his name) did a good job. Didn't try to make too much small talk in the process so I was pleased. On some of the clippers there is a vacuum attached to it so the hair that has been cut doesn't fall all over the place. It's a good idea, but it's a little on the loud side when he's cutting around the ears. From my one experience, that was the only drawback. For $8, I'll return. The cut is just as good as the place I normally go to for $12, and much better than I can do myself. I give my recommendation for this place. read more

Scotts Barber Shop has earned my loyalty. They go above and beyond the rest of the barbers trimming the hair out of your ears and cutting down those eyebrows that have gotten out of hand. This is my 3rd time there and I still cant believe they charge 7.00. I always tip 5.00+ because the work is top notch and others are an easy 15.00 for the same cut.. I used to go here quite a bit but the woman here doesn't listen when you say how you want your hair cut. It's hot in there, always a long wait, and you have to sit on a dingy leather couch that's been there for atleast a decade just to end up watching a small tv showing golf and getting a jacked up haircut.
