Always reliable from service to food to drinks. My friend and I decided last minute to try to get a reservation on a Saturday night. They didn't have anything for the time we wanted it, but she suggested that we come in as there was about a 30 minute wait. We didn't wait very long and a table was available. My friend loves their veggie bowl. It's a base of I believe rice with a lot of vegetables and a garlic butter sauce. Fantastic. I got the Wagyu burger. In hindsight, I would have gotten it with a little pink. It comes with lettuce and tomato and your choice of cheese. It was full of flavor and the Gouda just added to the flavor. It comes with a side of fries that were nice and crisp. The server was very attentive and friendly. The kitchen is open so you can see and hear the cooks which adds to the fun.

I've visited black and bleu exactly two times now and in all honesty, for the money you're going to spend there are places with just over all better food. The food is always okay, just never anything to rave about in my opinion. The service however is wonderful, the servers are attentive and even the hostess will greet you with a smile. The ambiance is also bright and eclectic which makes for a fun space.

Phenomenal restaurant! Great variety the menu and fantastic service. Jennie was our server and she took really great care of us! We can't wait.

It's been years since we've been to Black & Bleu. They accommodated our party of six easily with a reservation. It was Wednesday night & the place was busy. Parking was at a premium as the saying goes. The music was a little to loud for great conversation, but we managed. We sat at a half moon booth along the upper back wall that provided an amazing view of the open kitchen. I ordered the steak stromboli (small) which was enough for dinner & lunch the next day. Husband got the sea bass bites & hmmm... I don't remember. He went back & forth on different items because everything sounds, looks, & smells awesome so I don't remember what he finally chose. Two orders of the salmon salad, chicken parmesan, & calamari rounded out our group. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our server was terrific even offered to box up our leftovers for us. Yes, we ordered the peanut butter. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that's how we really judge a place. It was good. More peanut than we expected considering it was not a solid slice of pie, but it wasn't so whipped in texture that Husband didn't enjoy it. We'd order it again.

    $19 Prime Rib Special

This is one of those spot I found on Yelp and made an educated guess. I was in the mood for prime rib and from the pictures others posted it looked like a nice restaurant. I'm away all week so I'd like to have a nice family style dinner. Our waitress comes to the table and I ask about the Prime Rib. I'm told it's $19 Prime Rib night?? Be still my heart The Prime Rib comes with veggies so I decided to mix it up with a little surf and turf. I started with Fried Oysters, I'm not sure where they get their oysters from but they had a nice taste. The Prime Rib comes to me. This is like a Flintstones cut! It's a thick, juicy rib of deliciousness. The horseradish sauce was a little thin but still gave some extra kick. The baked potato side was huge! I couldn't finish it, no one could. Our waitress was very engaging, she made our meal enjoyable. If you're looking for a great home cooked meal, come to Black N Bleu Restaurant.

The food was good, but the appetizer was OK. I got calamari, and I didn't really like it that much. It was chewy. The service was slow as far as I can remember. Black N Bleu is a tiny restaurant, but it is VERY loud at times. I've only been there once, but I hope if I go again everything will be better. I would still go again, though, the food was good. ): :(

I've been to Black N Bleu a few times visiting family and they have such a wide array of food! This time I ordered a grilled cheese with their tomato soup. The grilled cheese was great. I wish it was more melty but I loved how it was on Texas toast. Their tomato soup was SOOOO creamy which I loved! I also ordered a Moscow mule, and it was so good. Definitely a great spot to grab a bite if you're from the area or passing through.

Solid food, very accommodating staff, busy but for good reason. Once again, randomly in the area and saw this place was very favored with the locals. So we came here for a date night. We got seated right away and the place was jam packed. We got seated next to a giant party who took up the entire center of the dining area. in a cozy little two-top. Because of the big party, we didn't get a server until about 10 minutes after being sat. Once they realized that we were there without menus and drinks, they quickly rectified that for us. We decided to get the blue cheese fondue, their "stack" which was a jumbo crab cake on top of a filet with blue cheese mash and asparagus. I can't eat a lot, and I was interested in their smoked gouda pasta dish. I asked if I could do a half-portion and they were able to accommodate. Not many places are willing to, but thankfully they were able to. Food came out reasonably quick. The kitchen was in full swing, pushing out lots of food. Almost too quickly though, as the serving staff was having a hard time keeping up with the pace. But eventually our food got to our table and we dug in. The blue cheese fondue was pretty good. the garlic knots and the chicken skewers were the star of the show though. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, seasoned, and paired well with the fondue. Probably could've been smaller chunks of chicken rather than strips, but given the perfect cook, totally okay with it not being in chunks. The Fondue was actually the weaker element on the plate. It was creamy and a little funky, but they definitely tempered that funk down a lot. I got more cheese sauce than blue cheese, which is great if you don't like blue cheese. I like blue cheese though, and I was looking for that funk. Same goes for the smoked gouda pasta. It was really good, the pasta was cooked fully and the cheese sauce was cheesy, but light on the smoke. the chicken pieces in this dish were also perfectly cooked as well, it was very tasty. The Stack was good, but the biggest detractor was the alfredo sauce they put on top of everything. The filet was perfectly seared and cooked to medium rare, the blue cheese mash was creamy and pleasantly funky, with little pieces of cooked potato. The green beans were cooked, seasoned, oiled, and served well. The crab cake was flaked imitation crab, loosely piled on top of the filet then seared and placed on top. Then it all got covered in a thick cream sauce with just a hint of parmesan. If there was a lot of pepper in the cream sauce, then at least I could make a case of it being like a southern biscuits and gravy sauce. The sauce was lacking punch though, and that was a disappointment. I would probably skip the crab cake next time and just do the filet. Or swap it out for some butter poached jumbo shrimp placed on top. also I would skip the whole sauce dump on top, the alfredo on top doesn't seem right for the style of dish it is. Pricing was high, but not unreasonably so. The service was excellent, despite the delays in serving. The food is good, but is lacking the flavors promised by the descriptions of the dishes. this is a good place to celebrate if you happen to be in the area. The foods pretty good and the place has a nice, modern atmosphere. It's a busy place, so you might have to wait. but if you can wait, it's pretty good!

    Aaron S.

Honestly, I forgot how good this place is and how much I love their killer bread and blackened chicken Alfredo. It's been way too long since I've been here and now we've got the Black n Bleu bug again. Also, they have here the best espresso martini, which is known as a black martini on their menu. This is the standard and all others are judged on this fine example. The dining experience and service have always been impeccable here. It seems they stress customer service as well as quality ingredients in all of their dishes. All of the servers and help appear to be pleasant at all times, even when very busy, which is pretty much all the time. Nice decor and modern interior makes this a prefect destination for date night, celebrations, or just a nice meal. Definitely glad we came back and this will be a regular stop from now on.

This place had been on my radar for a while, but when I recently learned that Grappling Crab Shack…read morewas serving Crab Stuffed Deviled Eggs, there was no longer any point in delaying the inevitable. A crabby dinner needed to happen...immediately! I recruited an adventure buddy and we made plans to meet at Grappling Crab Shack's creekside home base on a rainy Saturday evening. We arrived around 5pm, about an hour before closing, and thanks to the rain, we had the place almost entirely to ourselves! If you've never been, Grappling Crab Shack is a local family-owned business specializing in fresh Maryland blue crabs, gourmet crab cakes, seasonal seafood specialties, catering and a food truck that travels throughout the area. It's one of those hidden gems that feels like you've stumbled onto a local secret. Since it was our first visit, we decided to do what any reasonable seafood lovers would do....order basically everything! First up were the Crab Stuffed Deviled Eggs ($18 for six). Holy. Cow! These were TREMENDOUS! The filling was loaded with crab, each egg was topped with a little bit of bacon and they disappeared from the plate embarrassingly fast. If you visit Grappling Crab Shack and don't order these, I genuinely think you're making a mistake! Next came the Cajun Jambalaya ($10) with chicken, smoked sausage, tomatoes, trinity vegetables and Cajun spices. This was excellent. Smoky, flavorful, and carrying just enough heat to let you know it was Cajun without setting your face on fire. My adventure buddy never once reached for hot sauce, which says a lot! Then came the Cheesy Crab Bites ($15). These might actually be my favorite surprise of the evening. Homemade crab cake mix blended with mozzarella, cream cheese and garlic, rolled in panko and Old Bay, fried until golden and served with a house remoulade. I'd choose these over mozzarella sticks every single day of the week! The cheese pulls were absolutely glorious, and the remoulade added the perfect tangy finish. Finally, we tackled the Gourmet Crab Cake ($17). This thing was HUGE! Made with fresh Maryland blue crab, it was beautifully seasoned, perfectly cooked, and held together much better than several crab cakes I've had recently. I'm actually glad we skipped ordering it as a sandwich because the crab cake itself deserved to be the star of the show. Our total came to right around $60, and considering how much food we ordered, plus the leftovers we both brought home, I thought it was money well spent. We grabbed one of the covered tables out back overlooking the yard and listening to the creek rush by. Despite the rain, it was a really relaxing place to enjoy dinner. I can only imagine how nice it is on a sunny summer evening. The staff couldn't have been kinder, bringing everything out to us with smiles and making us feel right at home. This place is an absolute hidden gem and one of my favorite seafood spots to have checked out in the last few months! I'll definitely be back, preferably on a dry evening when I can fully enjoy the creekside setting. If you love crab, seafood, or just supporting awesome local businesses, don't sleep on Grappling Crab Shack. And whatever you do...order the deviled eggs!

Naturally, I had already done my due diligence (read: stalked the menu for a full week) and had a game plan. At the top of my list? The deviled eggs and the Kale Caesar salad with salmon. The only problem...I absolutely did not need $40 worth of food for lunch. So I quietly spent the week putting "deviled egg energy" out into the Universe, hoping my lunch partner would suggest splitting them. Manifestation is real, people. I arrived around 12pm and found plenty of parking out back in Watershed's designated lot, which is clearly labeled--a good thing, because parking in that area looks like it could get competitive if you're not paying attention. We had made a 12:15pm reservation (Monday lunch felt safe, but why risk it?), and our table on the enclosed patio was ready when we arrived. It was the perfect setup--sunny and bright, but still warm enough to be comfortable on a chilly day. The vibe was great, and our server was even better--friendly, attentive, and consistently checking in without being overbearing. Then it was time to order. I let my lunch partner go first and waited... "Do you want to try the deviled eggs as an appetizer?" Are you kidding me?!. YES. Yes, I did! We ordered the deviled eggs ($11) to share, and I followed through with my Kale Caesar salad ($15) topped with seared salmon (+$13), officially completing my week-long menu-stalking mission. The deviled eggs came out FAST, and in my excitement, I completely forgot to take a picture--which tells you everything you need to know. Each egg was topped with a cube of candied bacon that absolutely stole the show. Sweet, savory, and just the right texture to complement the creamy filling. We made quick work of all four--excellent start to the meal! Not long after, our lunches arrived, and my salad? Gorgeous. Like, actually exciting to look at. I dug in immediately and it delivered. The mix of shaved brussels sprouts, kale, and romaine gave it great texture, the dressing was well-balanced, and the red onion didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. But my favorite part? The garlic parmesan crouton crumble. No chasing rogue croutons around the plate--just perfectly distributed crunch in every bite. Genius! The portion size was generous, too--I made it through about half before calling it and boxing the rest for dinner later. By the time we were wrapping up, the enclosed patio had filled up significantly, which tells me this is a popular lunch spot--and for good reason. The food is solid, the atmosphere is great, and the service was spot on. That said...$40 for deviled eggs, a salad and water is a bit steep for an everyday lunch. For me, this feels more like a "treat yourself," client meeting, or special occasion kind of place rather than a regular rotation spot. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I be casually popping in every week? Probably not. But those deviled eggs? Totally worth manifesting!
