I'm a service engineer for a corporation and as such I travel all over the US. I am in the area working and decided to eat at Sal's for lunch. Ordered my food and went to pay.... no wallet. I went to cancel my order however, they said, I could call them up later and pay. Phenomenal customer service. Now for the food. Got a turkey sub. Having not eating breakfast I was hungry. The sub didn't disappoint. Fresh cut veggies along with boars head meat. It was delicious. I'm here for a few days and will definitely be eating her again. Had lunch here today first time I've been here. Pizza is all pre-made. Big slices though, what i didn't like about it was watching the pizza guy adding toppings to my slices. Bare hands, i would have liked to see either wearing the plastic food gloves or using tongs....that's just me. I can't tell you how many times i see people leaving the toilet stall and just walk out. And when i see someone preparing my Pizza wirh no gloves that's what I'm thinking. They say people are dirtier than animals and in a way i have to agree. Question will i be back, probably not. I order from Sals in Milford all the time. Typically they're great, today they were terrible. Placed a simple order of a sandwich and fries for delivery, waited patiently. 1.5 hours later, with no indication of what was going on I finally called to see if we were even going to get dinner. The person on the phone was unhelpful and generally said - "yeah it's hear but we don't have a driver ready". I asked if it had just been sittiing on a shelf for an hour and a half and she wouldn't give me an answer. I got annoyed, said "thank you" and hung up (to be fair she was mid-sentence). About 2 minutes later "Tyler" - the owner/manager whatever (Mr. Authority) because he was very keen on drilling into me for hanging up on the person who answered the phone. I told him that I didn't want to argue, I just wanted dinner and that we could just assume he's right about everything because it was clear that Tyler being right was more important than any other factor in the conversation. So long story short, I had to cancel the order because Tyler is a jackwad and we'll never order from Sals in Milford again. Tyler gave zero SH*$s about anything other than snapping at us. Our large group ordered delivery from Sal's Pizza of Milford today. The pizzas arrived to our site on schedule, hot and fresh. Sal's Pizza is usually pretty good (the Hooksett location is still my fav for slices) and today was no exception. I enjoyed 2 big slices of pepperoni pizza, which were pretty greasy on top (from the ample amount of pepperoni & cheese) and zesty tomato sauce. The crust was very soft and thin towards the center with a very thick puffed soft crust along the edges. I needed to fold the pizza slices similar to NY style pizza, which were very tasty. As I was eating, I thought about having a third slice, but 2 slices were more than enough pizza for one lunch break. read more

Pizza was just okay. Staff was courteous and friendly. The front door had a sign that read "Masks aren't required but this sign is." Upon entering, saw about 7 employees in close proximity without masks. I understand nobody wants to wear a mask around pizza ovens in July, but this is just irresponsible. One can only point fingers at the management here. Judging by the dismissive sign on the front door, it's probably a safe assumption that the owners don't take COVID-19 precautions seriously. I for one am not comfortable bringing home food to my family from an establishment that doesn't even take the most basic of precautions. Yeah, another of the many Sal's pizza locations. I can't really give this one a positive review though. Stopped in for a slice of pizza and some salad. The slices were sub-par. If you're going to sell pizza by the slice, you need to rotate through the pies so they're fresh, and you need to re-heat them so they're warm all the way through. The greek salad was hella overpriced, and awful. The first one contained brown lettuce, so we brought it back to the counter and asked for another one... which also contained brown lettuce (buried further in the container), so we took that back too. The third attempt finally yielded some fresh lettuce, although at the complete omission of any feta cheese. I'm basing my 1-star rating on the food alone. That having been said, the guys behind the counter were nice enough and apologetic about the brown salad - nonetheless, it's a restaurant and it should be all about the food. To be the only customer in there at 6:30 on a Saturday night says something, and not something good. Lemme sum up: Great NY style pie, good value, clean restaurant It'd been a long day of fishing with the kids (read: it'd been four hours). Bellies weren't the only things that were grumbling as there had only been one fish landed. "How about some pizza, guys?" Immediately, faces brightened and shouts of "SAL'S! Let's go to Sal's!" bubbled up. Alright, pack it up and roll out, it's time for pizza! We stepped into the parlor and the kids jetted right to the case where the pies were laid out. After much deliberation, we settled on a large cheese with a few drinks for the lot. Total price for a gigantic thin crust and drinks was under $20. Decent. Then I took a bite. I'm a fan of the NY style, thin bottom, chewy dough crust pizza pie. Sal's has got this nailed. The pizza was just right for folding and not overly greasy. The sauce was tangy and even the kids ate the crust. No more pizza bones! The cheese wasn't crazy, stringy but it was much better than the standard delivery places. There were a selection of Italian pastries and cookies to choose from if we wanted dessert. The kids had never seen a cannoli before so, of course, they wanted that. It wasn't knock your socks off terrific, but it was real mascarpone filling. I just like mine a touch sweeter. Next time, I'll be trying the tiramisu. The interior of the place was bright and clean. The feel was one of a cafeteria more than a restaurant, tho. No real decorations or attempt to make it feel like a sit down restaurant. The staff wasn't overly chatty, but no biggie. (Maybe they would rather have been out fishing, too.) Overall, it's a quiet place to eat your meal if you're not taking an order to go. However, I definitely got the feel that Sal's is centered around the "to go" side of things. I think I remember someone telling me once that Milford has more pizza joints per capita than anywhere else in the country. (Possibly an exaggeration, but not by much from what I've noticed.) The kids have definitely made up which is their frist choice. In any event, I'll keep going back to Sal's because it's really great pizza at a really good price. I'm hooked. read more

By far the best pizza I've had in New England. The pies are big (19") and the dough and sauce is always nice and fresh. (Not that cardboard, overly oily stuff you get at most local pizza shops.) Their cheese pizza used to be under $10, but they have gone up over the past year or so. We usually get the Hawaiin, which always has generous proportions of pineapple and ham. They also sell some very tasty whoopie pies, huge cookies and Italian desserts. The only bad part is that they don't deliver. They tried doing some sort of "contractor delivery" about ayear ago, but it was like an extra $5. Not sure if they are planning to self deliver. read more

As someone else mentioned, there's a sign on the door indicating that masks were recommended but not required although they were required to put up the sign. What is Milford, the wild, wild west? 6 or 7 employees assembling pizza with no masks...a young child watching TV with no mask...relative of the boy enters the shop to pick him up - no mask...The pizza was doughy, with dried out sliced meatballs on one and dried out raw spinach on the other. Sal's has the best pizza in this area and beyond...My husband,daughter and I order from here every week, sometimes more than once..Their Tomato Caprese pizza is fabulous... Plain cheese and meat lovers pizzas are also great...We have tried several pasta meals and they were also very good.. A tasty little fresh salad and delicious garlic bread come with the pasta meals..I love their BLT and meatball subs..The bacon is extremely tasty so I get double bacon...My husband and daughter love their whole wheat vegetarian wrap.. It is enormous !!!...One wrap can feed two people but they don't share food...The staff is very friendly and courteous...We love this place!!! read more

Soooo very disappointed in the service we received today at Sal's in Milford. Called a large order in the day before for a softball post-game lunch (60 players & family members). Got the call when we were scheduled to pickup the order that they couldn't get the oven to light so they couldn't make our pies! Now, I completely get technical difficulties, but to call at the last possible minute ("bottom of the ninth", pun intended) was unprofessional and left me in a terrible spot! 60 hungry mouths to feed! Luckily, another local pizza place was able to take our order, make the pizzas, apply a discount that we didn't even ask for, and get them to the field in 25 minutes....piping hot! Leaving in Milford you don't have as many pizza places and the few we have I will rather buy at Sal's because even though their pizza is not the best is also not the worst. You just have to explain how you really like your pizza specially if it is a delivery because they have made a few errors on my orders and them I have to wait for a replacement pizza. One thing I give them they are very courteous and fast on delivery service. If you live in Milford and want to eat a decent tasting pizza Sal's is your best choice. read more

I like their thin crust and the sauce is okay but the problem I have is their skimpy toppings. I ordered a pizza with roni, mushrooms & onions. When my son got home with it and I opened it up there was plenty of roni but light on the mushrooms and onions (my favorite) were pretty much MISSING! Of those inexpensive toppings - the onions were missing totally from 2 to 3 slices & where they were, it was a few tiny pieces here & there. Now tell me what does an onion cost - 35 cents? Why couldn't they put at least half an onion on there...I paid the $1.75 for onions & got 10 cents worth. Mushrooms should have been more too. I just always find the toppings skimpy. The cheese didn't melt like on a typical pizza - it was more congealed and just pulled off the pizza. The crust was only part-way done, not the least bit crunchy. After a long day of "garage cleaning" we had their pizza for dinner tonight. Husband called it in and immediately went over to wait and pick it up. It was an acceptable temperature - he did take a hot box - but it was so soggy and sloppy in the middle it was almost liquid. We've had bad experiences here with over incinerated slices at lunch time recently. I won't be back. read more
