Sal's makes the best pizza we've had in California. The crust is perfect, crispy and flavorful. The lunch salad and slice special is an amazing bargain--choice of caesar or arugula-pear salad and a huge slice. The food is served on china plates with real silverware, just a very classy operation for a pizza joint. We sat outside for lunch but inside looked comfortable too. Had a fantastic meal from Sal's tonight, haven't been here in quite some time. Pizza was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Pesto breadsticks were phenomenal and came with some incredible homemade ranch and marinara. Prices were comparable to other places in the area. Will definitely be back! read more

This is a hidden gem. Let's see where do I begin....hubby is a meat n cheese lover,,,me a plant based no oil foodie who is always searching for safe for me delish food with a side of meat for the hubby...where here it is. He had a bomb as he describes,, meat calzone...it looked fab. He ate the whole thing.... I had a salad that was absolutely 100% fab,,,,all veggies,,,mostly organic on a bed of spring mix...I asked for lemon and herbs,,,which they happily brought me...I ordered a veggie mini pizza no cheese no oil. It was off the hook. So vegans, vegetarians and omnivores all can have it all he., plus soon to be expanded. Yay! So so happy. Only thing that could be better would be vegan pesto and oil free dressing. But I am not complaining. This place is the real deal. Thin yummy crust and very flavorful. Try it you will like it..... I ordered a large half cheese and half kalamata olive pizza for delivery and what arrived was mostly good, although, I think they shoved a large pizza in a medium sized box because the pie was about 4 inches too wide or box so when they closed it, a quarter of the pizza just closed in on itself and it looked like a not very appetizing mess. The cheese side came out just fine though and in my opinion, was better than most pizza in the Bay Area (God bless NY style). The kalamata side... and I know I sound like a real cuckoo clock saying this, but my god it was inedibly salty. I realize kalamata olives are big time salty but this was almost unreal. This is one instance where less topping would have been more, but can't fault them for giving you your money's worth. The delivery arrived earlier than expected, which was great, and besides the folded over on itself part and that a small side of ranch costs $1.50 (jeez that markup), it was an enjoyable experience that I'd recommend to locals. read more

I was visiting the Sonoma Country area for the weekend with a couple of friends. We were in the Penngrove area in our Airbnb and wanted to order in some pizza and found Sal`s Pizzeria. We ordered in the Pepperoni, Ricotta cheese and the Pesto Parmesan sliders. For me, the ricotta cheese and the pesto parmesan sliders were the best. I really wish Bay area pizza joints can replace Garlic bread sides with these Pesto Parmesan Sliders. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and delivery of Sal`s. For people in the Penngrove area, do not even hesitate to order in some delicious Pizza from Sal`s. read more

3 stars for me guys. $31 for 2 mini pizzas and a soda (not including tip). Kind of pricey for what was delivered. But hey, I understand there is rent that needs to be paid. I had book marked this place on Yelp due to their rocking reviews. However it was just "Eyyyyyte". I'm pretty spoiled with MOD Pizza that is done in 3 mins (literally) and cost less. We are talking $20 for 2 medium pizzas and 2 drinks. Not to mention toppings are not extra. Can't argue with that. 5 star for their hospitality. They were very sweet and polite. Correct me if I am wrong but when I was sitting, I noticed the freezer door open and I think I might of seen premade frozen pizza dough already rolled out in circular shape? It kind of turned me off. That and the dust on the fans above the table we were eating at. Or the un vaccumed rug by the front door? When I sit for too long, I start staring around the establishment. 4 stars for the food, 5 stars for the service We walked in and the place just smelled like heaven. With the yelp check in offer of breadsticks (with purchase), we started ordering a few items to try. We shared the breadsticks, a Cesar salad, veggie calzone, and a pepperoni pizza. Breadsticks - maybe that's an "easy" dish but the fact is, if the pizza dough isn't great, the breadsticks won't be either. These were great! Generously dusted with parmesan, butter, garlic, etc. Delish! The ranch dressing served was so tasty. Clearly made in house vs. packaged. Salad - I was surprised when the salad came and the chicken (we added) was steaming hot. It actually was the first time I'd had warm chicken on my salad and really, I kinda liked it. LOL It felt like "dinner". I can't explain it. Anyhow, the dressing was REALLY good.. REALLLY good. Calzone - by this time, was pretty full so I only had a little bite of the calzone. just to try it. I knew I would enjoy the next day for breakfast. :) Pepperoni pizza - Hubby and son, who are pepperoni pizza purists, didn't love it. I am so glad that they have reopened! They have the best pizzas anywhere! I really missed them the last couple of years.

Disappointed. Sal's is usually our favorite, go to pizza spot. However, tonight we ordered delivery from them (for the first time) and our pizza is completely burnt. Of course we're eating it since we spent $22 on it, however, It is not very enjoyable with the overwhelming taste of burnt coming from both the cheese and the bottom of the crust. I thought about calling them to let them know, but then thought, they obviously knew by putting it in the box and thinking it was acceptable. I've had some really good pies from here, but tonight I'm just disappointed. :/ read more

Solid pizza joint, not just cause we were hungry. Pandemonium/pandemic compliant and all, most take out anyway, easy enough to eat in either park down the way or on the patio at home. Great service, everyone's super friendly, efficient and seem happy to work there. In addition to bomb pizza, their pizza dogs can be dangerously addictive, like a mini calzone sans the sauce. I tried Sal's tonight on the recommendation of a person from Nextdoor. I thought I could dine in but they still do not offer that and the place is tiny. So I ordered to go. Small pizza w/sausage and mushrooms and an order of 6 wings. Waited the appropriate time for my order. Left with pizza and wings. Got home & no blue cheese fir wings even though they asked. Pizza was very soggy in the middle snd topping not evenly distributed. Heated on my pizza stone snd still soggy. I heard about Sal's. All good things. I ordered a small combo pizza and a salad to pick up. OMG! I'm a die hard Mary's Pizza fan..I thought it was time to check something else out. Glad I did! I love garlic..and I got me some garlic on this pie. My dog doesnt mind and still gives me love after eating it! Everything from the crust to the meat to the sauce was excellent! The salad was fresh, the blend of lettuce was spot on and the blue cheese dressing had a certain zing that I loved! FRESH! I'll be back..I don't mind driving to go get it..see ya soon! read more

I dragged my family here because we wanted to eat something Italian on a Saturday and my sister and bro-in-law (locals) could not think of a nice place that could take a party of 5 at around 6pm. When you come in this place the interior looks a little underwhelming and kinda typical for most casual pizza joints. I was a little hesitant. But everyone was a fan when we left this place. We had calzones, pizzas, sandwiches, and wine. Everything was really good. I ordered the calzone with pepperoni and my wife and sister ordered the spinach calzone. The flavor and texture was on-target. I have a pretty good appetite but could only conquer half of my meal. Bummer, just had to leave with leftovers. :-) read more
