Art's is one of our favorite places to eat! The food is always delicious, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is great. Every time my family comes to visit from out of town, they always ask to go back to Art's for dinner. Lately, I've been obsessed with their Chipotle Lobster Linguini special, it's so good! We've also tried several appetizers, pizzas, pastas, and drinks over the years, and honestly, everything has been consistently great. The prices are reasonable too, especially for the quality of the food. It's definitely a popular spot, and after eating here so many times, I completely understand why. We've loved going to Arts Place since they opened!! The food is always delicious and everything is always so consistent!! We try to go eat there or get takeout every couple of Months. Last weekend my dad went and got us takeout and it was amazing as usual. Their half and half pasta (marinara and pesto) is the best in town and always has been! Every year we'd go to the fair, that's what we would get. Such a bummer they aren't at the fair anymore. The whole family got the spaghetti half and half and garlic bread. And my dad got the tortellini with peas and prosciutto. Everything was so amazing as usual!! We've also gotten their pasta trays for a party a few years ago. We got big trays of penne pasta with 3 different sauces, salad and garlic bread to feed 50 people. the process was easy and their prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. We got a lasagna which wasn't pictured and it was sooo good. Heads up, it's definitely very rich and flavorful. The wedge salad was exactly what we wanted and their garlic bread was perfect! We decided on an early dinner, and decided the reviews were worth trying out. Not sure how the pizza is, but the 'Italian' entrees were less than desirable. Carly, our excellent server, was prompt, friendly and as knowledgeable as she could be for a new employee to the establishment. My guess? Art probably established an excellent real Italian restaurant with authentic recipes and hopefully homemade pasta. He has since passed away, and I am sorry to say, whatever authenticity went with him. The vibe is a bar pizza joint, and I hope they serve a good pizza pie. The linguine and clams (I asked if it was a garlic sauce) was loaded with clams. That is where the dish ended. It had linguine noodles and a sauce made up of clam juice butter and lemon. I could not taste garlic, so she brought some raw garlic to toss in. The lasagna tasted like canned meat sauce poured over a bland dish of pasta. The chicken noodle soup had tasty chicken, but the overload of oregano was too much, we couldn't eat it and were not offered to have it removed from the bill. The Caesar salad was mayo heavy, could taste lemon and had sliced Parmesan on top. Tiramisu was not umptious either. For the cost of the meal, I will pass. We will try a pizza in the future, hopefully it is their saving grace. Oh, they should learn how to make pasta as well, instead of buying boxed pre made. read more

I just wanted to leave an updated review since my last review was from 3 years ago. We ordered takeout from Art's tonight because it's not always easy to take the whole family out for a sit down dinner. But today Art's was doing a "Dine & Donate" for my daughter's elementary school so we had to make it happen somehow! My wife went to pick up the food and said the people who worked there were great and they were happy to help our school! I had to order the spaghetti and meatballs as my last review reminded me how good it was. We also got the lasagna with pesto sauce. Truth be told, it was a lot of pesto, but it was damn good pesto. My daughter scarfed down their cheese pizza and our cousin had their California Chicken Sandwich which she loved. I can't say anything for the ambiance since we did takeout. I do really appreciate this local, Italian joint and I hope people come and support them! read more

Our food was great!! It always is. Actually are was good also. But the lady up front was a toad. Nothing nice say about her. She ask if we would like a high top table we declined she said you wait will be 15 min then. So we are talking for a out ten minutes and she asks us again if we would like a high top table . We say no she says your wait will be 30 minutes. We like you just told us 15 so know it's twenty minutes we have to wait? She said no 30. Basically we waited twenty five because we agreed to sit out side. Then she takes her sweet time and when we get out there she says oh it will be awhile before your server gets out here. Bottom line she ruined the whole experience and we will not be going back for very long time if at all. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the experience we had tonight here. I needed a place that would work for my grandkids & me. The kids menu sold me (and them). Dishes were $8 and the portions quite substantial. I had the minestrone soup (quite good) with a great salad. The photo depicts their green salad but it had salami on it and I'm a vegetarian. I was able to switch it out to a Caesar Salad that was yummy. Just needed more garlic, but the lettuce was very fresh. I had a side of garlic bread that was decent. As it was happy hour, I was able to enjoy a draft Stella for $5! Very pleasant service. read more

Can't say enough about this place - first visit and felt very welcomed immediately upon entering, even though it was a very busy Saturday night with a bit of a wait. The parking is a breeze since it's a stand alone building in a big lot with other large stores. Lucked out with grabbing two seats at the bar just as folks were leaving, and sidled on up! The bartender was very attentive, had a great sense of timing for when to fire the food, and kept an eagle eye on our drinks for refills/refreshes. Prosecco ($10), draft Lagunitas IPA ($7) & a delicious Baldacci Cab ($16) worth every penny. The vibe is casual and cozy, and very family friendly. The portions are VERY generous! We split the spinach salad ($7.50) - everything was well balanced and the candied pecans were perfect! Next had the pesto pizza bites ($11) which was a lot of food. More like an actual pizza and super delicious. Entrees were beef ravioli with meat sauce ($21), and build your own pasta ($19) with 3 meatballs (+$7), creamy marinara, and fettuccini. We walked out with ample leftovers which will serve for another meal. Prices were worth the generosity, and the staff were great. Huge kudos to the whole team and can't wait to go back! read more

What a treat... We were staying in Rohnert Park and I asked asked our front desk manager if he knew a place where I could get some wings and possibly a small (personal) pizza. Immediately, he told us to go to Art's Place just a two minute drive from the hotel. Easy in to the parking lot and there are plenty of spaces for the cars. We made our way into the restaurant and after a very cordial 'smile ands hello,' we were seated. It was a little later than we normally eat so we were not looking to go to large. Share a couple of wings and a small cheese pizza. They have quite the extensive menu here and I could see that everyone was enjoying many of their "signature" dishes. The menu also gives you a good history of Arts. I explained to our lovely waitress exactly how we like our wings and they came to the table as ordered. Extra crispy with extra sauce on the side. They were crisp, tasty and a good pick. Pizza was also delicious. Cheesy, saucy and not to much crust. Over all a good pick and and I know that we'll be back on future visits. I am still trying to figure out how anyone could rate this shop a one or two star. This is a local's place. It was a rainy night and the place was packed. The bar was open though, so I was able to get seated immediately. I ordered the ribeye, which comes with garlic mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and garlic bread. Also, I ordered a house salad, which is basically an antipasto salad), so more than a regular salad. The steak was a bit gristle-y, though well seasoned. The mashed potatoes were good, very smooth. The vegetables were overcooked and mushy, though. It's known as a pasta and pizza place. I saw a gluten-free option. Might try that next time. read more

Finally tried this place after so many years. I thought it was good! I didn't realize this was owned by the same family that had the pasta place at the Sonoma County Fair for decades. The best thing about my meal was the fries. Good and crispy, seasoned, really yummy and to-die-for with ranch dressing for dipping. I think it would have liked the sandwich better if it came with grilled bell pepper and was served on a softer bun. It was a little "bready" for my taste. But still very good. My friend had a side spinach salad that looked very good, very fresh. She really liked her minestrone soup. It was thick like stew and looked delicious. Is it the finest Italian food in town? No. But it also doesn't cost a fortune. The bill for the two of us was only $30. I would definitely go back and give the pizza or some of the other menu items a try. read more

We love Art's place. We were raised on Sonoma County Fairgrounds pasta King. We also love His brother Angelo's place by in Carneros in Sonoma. These are local Sonoma County historical figures and the food is so, so, so good. The wood fire pizza tastes like it was baked in your oven at home. The lasagna with meatsauce tasted like salt. Not much going on, just salty and layers of pasta. I have eaten at this establishment several times since this last review and am.happy to say they have upgraded the "take out container" situation. The food here is consistently good, service is amazing and ambiance is cozy and feels friendly. This is my go to for birthdays, bad days and and other celebration days. Had dinner here for the 1st time. I ordered the linguine with clams. I actually was not a fan of the dish. It was quite runny, but they were generous with the clams. My daughter ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and I liked it a lot. The fried zucchini was okay. It was a tiny bit burnt, enough to taste the burnt flavor. The spinach salad was delicious. My boyfriend ordered it and he enjoyed it very much. Our server was hospitable and friendly. She forgot the glass of wine I ordered to go with dinner. We went to Art's place on a saturday evening, it was busy but not crowded, we were seated right away, the waitstaff but attentive but no pushy, the food was amazing, I had the lasagna which was heavy and perfect, we also ordered the chicken pesto pizza which is made in house and cooked in a brick oven, very good, we also has the spagetti and meat sauce along with the chicken parm, all four dishes were delightful and the bill was much lower than expected, we also got mazzarela sticks and fried rav's along with itialian soda's read more

Food was meh. Salmon undercooked and raw in parts, brownie for dessert was not good. But the service was awful. Wrong drinks, wrong soup, one meal brought way later than others, forgotten items. My first visit to Arts with a friend. . We found the food to be delicious, although pricey. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs with salad, a beer to wash that down. In fact we all had beer lol the other party ordered a sandwich. All impressed with the amount of food you do receive. The establishment is clean, happily greeted, seated quickly. The only pause we had was when asking for separate checks. We were told it's too difficult. ? Just for 2? She went on to say about larger groups, having just one check. We were not a large group. We both left the server a tip. In fact my tip was $15.00 We both left feeling confused. Never had we had been told we can't have separate checks. It causes frustration I feel since I often don't carry cash. We'll dine here again but I think the server is confused, I think this only pertained to her.
