We wound up parking a block away as they were pretty busy. You can dine in or take out. Table area was very clean. You place your order and they bring everything to your table. Service all around was excellent and smooth. Everyone went above and beyond. The kid got a small buffalo chicken pizza. I got a meatball parm sandwich. Meatball sandwich was very good. Quality of the meatballs was impressive. Sauce had a nice kick to it. They didn't cheap out on the amount of sauce or cheese. I made the right choice. I snuck a piece of the Buffalo Chicken pie. Chicken was on point. Nice size pieces. Not over powering with spicy sauce. Personal preference, dough was a little too thick for me, but again, that's my personal preference. Kid definitely enjoyed it. Boxed up a few slices for later on. A great alternative if you're in the area.

Eta Pie - Custom-made pineapple & olive pie

"Creative and whimsical" pizzas…read more Eta Pie in Ithaca NY was recommended by friends for some of their fun recipes, so we got several to-go for our contribution to a little gathering. We started off easy, with a Napoli red-sauce cheese pizza. It's made with the best San Marzano tomatoes and fresh basil, generous fresh-tasting sliced mozzarella, and a tasty tangy an Italian cheese blend. The red sauce was a traditional flavorful slightly sweet, slightly garlicky tomato sauce. All on a tasty thick-edged bready crispy-crusted soft-inside crust. It was a delightfully better-than-it-has-to-be cheese pizza. We thought the Palo Alto BBQ chicken pizza would suit us: richly flavored sweet lightly smokey BBQ sauce, mozzarella & smoked gouda, grilled chicken, and red onions. It was basically a flatbread. It tasted good, but to quote a guest, "it wasn't pizza" :-). Maybe it was the gouda that pushed it to the fancier edge. We struck out on our own with an olive and sausage red-sauce pizza. This was our favorite, due to the sweet bright fennel, garlic, black-pepper sausage, which surely tasted freshly home-made. Eta Pie has creative recipes and ingredients. Cheeses can incluse Gorgonzola, provalone, feta, paneer, Swiss, and ricotta. Sauces and drizzles include blue cheese, ranch, garlic butter, honey, pineapple-habanero, crema, mornay, pesto, herbed crème fraiche, masala, Korean BBQ, and a spicy red-sauce. Toppings include steak, carnitas, Black Forest ham, fried chicken, shrimp, clams, scallops, smoked salmon, bacon, bulgogi, caramelized onions, vidalia onions, jalapeños, broccoli, fried eggplant, spinach, artichoke hearts, kimchee, and even peaches! Meet the Eta Pie philosophy: creative culinary seriousness. Choose thoughtfully, and you will find excellence on a crust :-)

Another guy walked in and he did the same thing to him and the guy said thank you and the worker said nothing. It was very strange. The pizza somehow only tastes like a tomato, the cheese on both the regular and vegan pizza had no taste, the crust too, it all definitely needed seasoning. The bathroom was sooooo nasty and the toilet had something on it that I won't even discuss on here, just use your imagination, maybe the guy was mad about that?

We were so impressed! It's very clean for a bar and the outside is beautifully finished. We had a blue moon and a burger-- it was one of the best burgers i've ever had from a restaurant. We arrived just as a local band was getting ready for a three hour set (4-7pm) on a Sunday afternoon. Cover charge was $5.00 each. There were quite a few people there, but there was still room to sit in the spacious outdoor deck/stage area. There's also an outside bar area to grab a drink, instead of having to run inside to the regular bar. Food was available, but we did not try anything. The indoor vathrooms were pretty small, but served the purpose. The music was very good, the sound was loud enough, without blaring out of the speakers. There's a roof over the outside deck, but it's in different sections, so the sun does shine though in areas, making it a little hot when it's hitting you. Our only complaint would be the amount of people that were smoking. There is no way to get away from the cigarette smoke wafting in your face. Other than that, it seems like a great venue to enjoy some live music, a drink and a bite to eat. We definitely plan on going back.

While…read moreit's typical to get the NY-style slice around here with thin, crispy crust and mounds of cheese, East of Chicago pivots a bit into the pan-style, deeper dish pizza which is a refreshing option. We have eaten here twice and both times we walked away with happy bellies and some new favorites. For our most recent visit, we ordered a sausage topped pan-style pizza along with their garlic cheesy bread. The staff working the counter were VERY friendly and welcoming when we came to pick up - very appreciated. Inside, it's small and there isn't a place to dine in, so you'll be doing take out here. Parking is on the street out front and seems to be available each time I roll by. The order took about 25 minutes to get ready and was available as promised when I picked up. The pizza was really buttery, soft, and just what you'd want from a deeper style pizza. The garlic cheese bread may have been the star of this order though. It was nice and garlicy, buttery, and cheesy...the way that GARLIC CHEESE BREAD should be :) We will be back!
