Giving it 4 stars because of the pizza. I read all the reviews on here and had higher expectations of this place. Let me start out by first saying the pizza was great. I had 3 slices, a pepperoni, a chicken bacon ranch and a Buffalo chicken slice. The pepperoni was decent. The chicken bacon ranch was definitely pretty tasty but I was blown away by the Buffalo chicken slice, it definitely out did the others. Would rate the slices a 4.5/5. I've never been a huge buffalo chicken slice fan because I hate loads of grease dripping off my slice and the flavor has never been there for me, but whatever these guys are doing with this works, so this is something I would order again. I also ordered a large Turkey sub with American, LTO and Mayo... definitely sub par for sure (pun intended). All lettuce and not a lot of meat...was very surprised as it was roughly $15 and probably 2 slices of Turkey all the way through, so probably a total of 6-7 smaller sized slices for a large sub. Would rate the sub a 2.5/5. I will definitely be back for the pizza! Hoping they see this and throw a little more meat on their subs next time especially for the price. All in all Chittenango Pizza loads their slices up with toppings which I appreciate. Who wants a skimpy slice of pie? Service was great, ambiance was comfortable, I appreciate that it's the old Pizza Hut, kind of nostalgic and decorated with wizard of oz knick knacks etc which is typical for the town :-) read more

This is the best pizza spot here, im from Brooklyn and every slice i eat here reminds me of the slices at home! They are always kind, helpful, serve with a smile, and care. For a small town, Chittenango sure does have a lot of pizza joints. Chittenango Pizza is the newest, taking over a long-defunct Pizza Hut of all things. We recently gave this new player in town a try and went with a large pizza, a chef salad, and an order of chicken tenders and French fries. As soon as I walked in, I kicked myself for not ordering wings as I saw some go by on their way to a table that looked darn good (and possibly char-grilled?) Inside there is a fair amount of seating but on this occasion we did take out. It took a bit longer than the stated 40 minutes, but they were steadily busy the entire time and it was a Friday night, so I wasn't too surprised. First things first, the large pizza is LARGE. You are getting your moneys' worth ordering a pie here. The crust was not too thick or thin and had good crunch. The pizza was also right on point - not overly greasy and a good amount of cheese. Sauce wasn't anything to write home about, but it was good. The chef salad with Italian dressing was pretty standard fare and came with chopped onion and cucumber. The tenders and fries were fine, nothing really exciting here and I'd probably not order them again. As I mentioned, the wings looked great and the garlic knots in the display did too...they'll be on my next order. The pizza really was the star on this visit and that's how it should be. I believe they are fairly new in the old Pizza Hut in town. Pizza looks Good but tasted average to me, the wings were the star for me, crispy outside juicy inside. Teriyaki wings were delicious and I also tried the bourbon which starts off semi sweet but gets a long slow burn in your mouth. Drinks are bottle drink which was different but over all decent place. I'd come back for the teriyaki wings as not many places do teriyaki. Place was a little dark when we went at 5 (few lights out which would've helped) Also Alfredo carbonara was ok as well what little bit I tried. read more

Went to Chittenango Pizza a few weeks ago. The pizza and staff were amazing! Went again on Sunday and same thing. Great people and amazing pizza. This place is by far the best pizza in the CNY area and that is no exaggeration at all. So glad to have them here in Chittenango. read more

I have been trying to order from here for weeks. Literally every time I call this place the phone just rings. A couple times I've called someone has picked up and then immediately hung up. I've tried to call back and wait a bit between calls but I've never had anyone pick up still. I have heard I'm not the only one with this issue. The least you could do is just turn off the phone if you don't want the business! This is why Buck's pizza is better. At least they answer their phone and welcome in the business! read more

Dropped in for a quick dinner and was pleased to see they offer a menu beyond just pizza and wings, plus they have table service! We were seated and served quickly by a very friendly staff. We had the Egg Plant parm and Baked Zitit with meatballs. Both were very good. We will certainly be back. Good food and service in a friendly atmosphere. What could be better? read more

Tried a cheese pizza slice and side salad for lunch. Both were excellent. The pizza crust was outstanding, the sauce was delicious and the cheese was top quality. The pizza was A+. I travel a lot for work. I'm all over NY and PA and sometimes all across CT. I love food and I love pizza. Having spent three years cooking in a really great Italian Restaurant - this is a food that I am very, very picky about. Some of the standout pizza places I have found in my travels: Paul & Son's - Binghamton, NY - still the top dog Pizzeria 440 - Kingston, NY Prima Pizza - Cornwall, NY (they will ship their pizza) Nicks - Endicott, NY I forget the name - place in the middle of nowhere in PA - great pie. *Chittenango Pizza - Chittenango, NY These guys are right up there with that bunch. Tough to compare to Paul & Son's as he's doing it differently, but for a thin crust NY style pie, these guys make a banging pie. Grabbed a plain slice as that is the ONLY way to try a new joint for the first time. I look for 3 things - dough, sauce and cheese. If your dough is too tough, I immediately question the love in the kitchen. The sauce has to be on point. There are tons of ways to do this. Making our own sauce from San Marzano tomato's grown in our garden is incomparable to anything coming from a can, and I know both well. Certain types of product is what you will see at all the good Italian restaurants - I know this well too - I inspect a lot of them now. I have worked with those products for years. Spicing the sauce is another thing that takes a little love - too much of any one ingredient and your sauce is shot. And then you top it with cheese. Poor cheese can make an otherwise great pie mediocre. Just as great cheese can make an otherwise mediocre pie a lot better. And you can't have too much of any one thing on there. There has to be a perfect balance to really impress me. There's lot's of solid pizza joints, but it's an exceptional pie that makes the cut in my book. This slice hit it all on the head. The crust was MONEY! That's not an easy feat to accomplish to make me want to eat the crust, but I did - every last bit too. Sauce was on point and the cheese was solid. So if you're looking for a slice of pie do yourself a solid and stop in and grab yourselves a slice. I know the next time I'm rolling through there and it's lunch time I'll be stopping by. And I'm absolutely eyeballing that Buffalo Chicken Pie, I wanted that too, but had to stick with the plain slice. Thanks y'all. read more

Granted the village has too much pizza and auto part stores, but nevertheless I was excited to try this new pizza joint against the competition. I went simple with a sheet pizza half plain, half pepperoni. Unfortuantely it wasn't very good for my liking. Even the kids didn't eat up to their typical standards. Barely any sauce, cheese was fine but nothing to rave about, but the killer was the very salty crust. Maybe sheets are not the way to go or it was an off night? I'll give wings or a sandwich a try sometime but I'll stick with others for pizza. read more
