Honestly speaking, I don't want to give a 5 star review because I want to gate keep this gem. It's hidden in a strip mall and it is a 10/10. We happened upon this location when looking for a place to accommodate a party of 18 after a taekwondo training day. We were able to sit at 2 long tables outside (kids table/ adult table) the waitstaff was so accommodating. The food was amazing, portion sizes are excellent and the cost was very reasonable. Outdoor heaters were a plus for the one chilly night in Naples a year. Definitely will visit again next time we are in Naples. read more

This little place is off the beaten trail and absolutely worth a visit. It's definitely a hidden gem and clearly a staple for the locals. We stopped in for dinner, and were very satisfied. I lived in Costa Rica for a while and the quality was very on par here. You can tell that it is very authentic. We got chicken chimichangas and elote and it was fantastic. Honestly, this was the first time I've ever gone to a Mexican restaurant in the US and not walked out bloated and stuffed. One of the best authentic family run Mexican restaurants in Naples! It is tucked away at the back of a strip plaza so easy to miss. But definitely don't miss it - and be sure to make a reservation! My favorite is the Chili Rellenos. It is not on the regular menu but often available as a daily special. (Go early because they sell out!). Another favorite is the Tacos. You choose the shell (corn, flour or hard) and the protein (11 options). They are small so you can easily have 2 or 3 for a meal and they are served with rice and beans. I like to get 3 tacos with 3 different proteins. Truly we've never had a bad meal there. The expansion of the patio with a permanent roof has been a great addition. They can now accommodate more people outside without having to worry about the weather. read more

After reading my first review I noticed that I received chips and salsa. This time salsa cost $3.25. And it was served in an extra small cup. To add insult to injury it had no flavor other than salt. Keeping up with the no flavor I ordered a ground beef taco just to try their tacos. I asked for sour cream with and did not receive any. I don't think the sour cream would have helped the flavor as there was none. For my entree I ordered the pork tamales. They again had no flavor and there was no sauce served over the tamales thus they were so dry I had to take a sip of my drink after every bite to soften them up. Again I could not get any taste from this dish. It came with refried beans and rice. The beans were absolutely inedible. The only food that I was served that was good was the rice. And it was excellent. I paid my bill and my wife and I said that this would be our last visit. Was very good at one time but no longer is it worth the 4 stars it is rated. read more

They lose a point for closing 50 min earlier than their posted close time on TACO Tuesday! I mean, is business that good? I came because I recently moved nearby (I had tried this place before when I did not live nearby) and wanted to see if this could be the taco place I needed in my life and l, well it was closing up at 9:12pm (they close at 10pm). Please don't post that you'll be open and turn away someone who wants to give you money because you want to close early, I understand some places get slow but if the problem is lack of customers why would you turn one of the few customers coming in away? Especially when they arrive during your posted hours of operation? I will try this place again and hope I can update my review with some tasty taco pics. Til then, tsk tsk Shame on you! We dined in a Sunday evening, the place was a little busier than we expected but got to seat right away. We got some complimentary chips and salsa as we decided what to order. For drinks we had the pina colada (10/10) and a glass of sangria (meh). We had a starter of queso fundido with corn tortillas followed by an order of 4 tacos (carne asada, pastor, carne de res, chicken). Difficult to pinpoint exactly what was wrong, but the truth is we just didn't enjoy the food - it just didn't taste like the authentic Mexican tacos we've had at other restaurants. We were also slightly overcharged (we didn't want rice and beans, but we were convinced to get the platter anyway as there was no extra cost with the taco order - ended up being about $5 extra dollars). read more

Great little restaurant off the beaten path in North Naples that is the real deal Mexican cuisine. Everything we've ordered at Salsa Brava has been super fresh and homemade. We love their fresh guacamole with their in house made nacho chips, queso & hot and mild sauce to start. Their tacos are super-fresh and made with any toppings you want or don't want. Tamales were really great also as were their margaritas. They also have traditional Mexican dishes as well. If you have a large group of 6 or more, you'll have to sit outside since inside the restaurant only has smaller tables which was fine with us. We stopped in craving Mexican food and I was heartened to see several tables of Hispanic people eating here because I love authentic Mexican. This fell short for me but my daughter cleaned her plate. It was a bit chilly out and the outside tables were full, so we sat inside. The decor is typical: Mexican hats, a bullfighter mural, a border of stenciled peppers. It was very clean and you can watch the kitchen prep your food. There was a large table reserved for 8 people so we sat at a two top. Our server was quick to bring chips and salsa verde (mild) and some hot salsa rojo on request. We ordered guacamole and that was truly fresh and delicious. The chips were thick and unsalted, not my favorite but I was really hungry. I ordered the knife-and-fork burrito with chicken and my daughter the chicken flautas. We waited a bit for our food but I expect that in a small, made fresh to order restaurant. The food is beautifully presented with plenty of queso fresco; that said, my food was disappointingly bland. The shredded chicken needed salt and some kind - any kind - of spice. It was juicy and *looked like it was seasoned. The fresh tortilla was good. The beans had no flavor and the rice was a little better with added salt and a squeeze of lime. The flautas quickly disappeared from my daughter's plate and she enjoyed them immensely. She is fluent in Mexican Spanish and knows the food. She was not impressed. I had Carne Asada. The piece of Flank Steak was almost as thin as shaved Giro meat and honestly had a slightly funny smell. The Tortilla Chips sucked. A few days before we had a late lunch at Uncle Julio and I had Carne Asada. Uncle Julio cuts his Carne Asada almost an inch thick. Uncle Julio should probably be classified as Tex-Mex but, it was GOOD and we will be going back THERE! Service: No better or worse than other restaurants. Ambiance: Below average. I have rated my review with three stars and I think I am being generous...Certainly more generous than Salsa Brava was with their Flank Steak. read more

How do I even begin... Ok let's start with this, if you live in Naples and you like "Real" Authentic Mexican Food and you haven't come to eat here then you must be a fool, LOL. Starting with the yummy chips and salsa, to the appetizers of Guacamole and Queso Fundido followed by the entrees of Pozole, Menudo, Steak Burrito and Carne Asada and finishing up with Churros and Flan. Salsa Brava is hidden away in the far corner of a strip mall. You really have to look to find it. We just discovered this ultra casual Mexican joint despite it having been there for 10 years. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are very reasonable, especially for Naples. We had the chicken burrito and the chicken enchiladas from the lunch menu. They both came with rice, beans and chopped tomatoes and lettuce. They were tasty enough although nothing to write home about. The only problem is that we both got a mild stomach ache after eating there. There are probably better casual Mexican options in the area. read more

Today we decided on trying this place as we've driven by it many times in the past and wondered if the food was decent. It's located in the back corner of the strip plaza where Hungry Howies and Verizon Wireless is on US41 between Immokalee Rd. and Vanderbilt Beach Rd.. The restaurant is pretty small offering about 9 tables inside and 8 tables outside and wouldn't recommend for a big party. The waitress immediately greeted me and served some complimentary chips and salsa and took my drink order. I then ordered three corn tortilla tacos consisting of an Al Pastor, Ground Chorizo and Carne Asada Taco with rice and beans. The first thing I noticed is they don't serve your typical tomato based crushed salsa but a green tomatillo salsa that was very bland and lacked flavor. They do serve a Pico De Gallo for an up charge which I decided to pass on. The tacos came out shortly after and looked very appealing but those were also very underwhelming. The Carne Asada wasn't seared nor charred and lacked seasoning. The Al Pastor like the Carne Asada was also lacking that pineapple marinade sweet flavor that makes it such a popular dish among Mexican cuisine. The Ground Chorizo was very good and the best of the three tacos I had. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the quality, execution and taste overall. The server was very nice and the highlight to my dining experience. Unfortunately, this place was not my cup of tea and will not be back. read more

I really like the food at Salsa Brava. It's the best Mexican food I've had in the area, hands down, and I've tried a minimum of 7 other places in the past 2 years. I'm from California, and I don't want my Mexican food to be "gringo." I want authenticity. Salsa Brava delivers with dishes like pollo or shrimp tostadas, ceviche mixto, and whole fried fish. The red salsa has a good amount of heat. My only suggestion is that they have gotten so popular that they need a bigger space. That's a testament to their food. Food= 5 stars. Space and ambiance= 4 stars. I'm not going to rate them on their service because I've only been ordering take out during the pandemic. They've been slammed every time I go in there now. Personnel are very attentive and service is great. Owner also makes it a point to come to your table and see if your meal is to your liking, and also will give a little history as to the food and preparation. If you visit/live/stay in Naples, Florida you must seek this out. It's not a large place, tucked into a corner of a little strip mall off of Tamiami Trail (41) and approximately 103 Street (North Naples) but absolutely worth the visit!
