We were craving authentic Mexican food, so based on the reviews we decided to try this place. I'm Mexican from California, just moved here two months ago and I'm loving Naples! However, haven't found really good Mexican food. I ordered the Enchilada plate with one in green sauce and the other in red sauce to try both sauces. Both were just ok. I liked the shredded beef in the Enchiladas. I ordered one Sope with shredded beef and it was very good. My husband ordered the green chilaquiles and they were ok. Nothing to write home about. The first time I ate here, the food was amazing, and I thought I found a real hidden gem. But a couple times later, I'm not in love with it as much. I think the tamales are definitely the best item they serve, as they've been the most consistent. The tacos are kind of hit or miss, and the meat is sometimes kind of bland or under seasoned. The worst item I've had was the burrito I ordered last time; it was so bland, and they smothered it in sauce instead of putting it on the side. Also, I don't know how this is possible, but the rice and beans were so bland, I didn't even eat them. The chimichanga was average, but the homemade sauces are pretty good. They have a nice little outdoor seating area for a little hole in the wall too. I'll probably only be back for some tamales and to try their torta sandwich. Prices are high for a place that is hidden. In a small strip mall but behind a local convenient store building. Across the street from Sushi Thai. Authentic Mexican but my plate of enchiladas with rice and beans were room temp. Owner very nice, dessert flan was wonderful but not enough to convince me to fill up a tank of gas and return. Sorry. I read reviews and wanted Mexican. The reviews said the food was good! Lie- it was excellent. I had chicken enchiladas and my guest had pork, chicken and ground beef enchiladas- all excellent. I had red sangria and I will have again. My guest had Watermelon margarita on the rocks he said very good. We both want to try the Mango Margarita with jalapeños next time! The queso and chips were very good and plentiful as well. I heard the tamales were good - we split 1 chicken tamale very moist and large. Could make a meal out of two of these. I will definitely try the guacamole next time and pick different items to try. Amazing find. Tucked away in a little strip mall, Salsa Bravo is a little gem. Everything from our Margaritas to our fried ice cream dessert (and everything in between) was delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. Came here during season. Super busy night, but we somehow grabbed one of the high top tables outside. A line had formed by the time we left. Vibe: Small, hidden Mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy. Clearly here for the food. Prices are extremely reasonable. Beer branded umbrella and flowers outside. Honestly charming but very casual. I think someone at the table next to us was wearing pajamas. But maybe that was just a fashion statement. Pros: - Service: While not the fastest, the waiter and greeter were both fabulous. Very friendly in an authentic way. Did a great job staying calm and nice with the crowds. Delightful. - Margarita: Yes yes yes yes. I got the classic marg with no salt. I then got a second. I am not a margarita person, but this one just tasted good. I will think of this often. - Chicken Fajitas: These were excellent. Comes with rice and beans. I do recommend getting a side of the guac to go with the fajitas. Without the beans, they needed a little something extra. Personally, the extra hot salsa was too hot for me. Like way too hot. Cons: - We sat outside, and there was a faint smell of trash. Probably due to the fact that the restaurant is on the end and right around the corners are all the shops trash bins. Started to find some restaurant gems outside the 5th Ave/3rd St hub of Naples. Salsa Brava is a hidden gem! It's tucked in the back of a small strip mall. I had the Shrimp with Chipotle sauce. The BEST chipotle sauce I've ever had. They should jar it up and sell it! It came with rice and beans combined with the shrimp and sauce, it was fantastic! My wife and mother in law and sopes with el pastor, shredded chicken, and shredded beef. Each of the meats were succulent and flavorful. Even the chips and salsa were delicious! I can not fathom how anyone could give this restaurant even 1 star. The salsa was nothing but Tabasco sauce. My chicken fajita was burnt so bad the chicken and rice was stuck to the skillet. My wife's (not sure what it was) was like rubber she ate 2 small pieces of steak. The guacamole tasted like it was 80% lime juice. Everything had a taste the neither of could figure out. Best hole in the wall Mexican restaurant I've yet to stumble upon in southwest Florida. Their tacos are amazing and chips and salsa are somehow just so next level. Margs are always on point! Loved the food here! I am super glad I took up on the reviews and gave this place a try! The restaurant wasn't easily visible from the street and pretty much a while in the wall. I think you may just have to know it's here. I got a pina colada and while I don't usually drink since I am the dd this one was so (dangerously) good I couldn't help take a few more sips than I was planning to. The prices were also really good - You get a lot of food for what you pay. The waiter was really laid back and came to check on us constantly. I think the service is a bit slower than some of the other places I've been probably because of limited staff but totally worth it! I ordered the menudo and it's the best I have had so far! This little mom and pop place is tucked way back in a corner but the search for it will be worth it. Its small, 10 tables or so but the food is authentic and very, very well prepared. Our server was SO charming and very helpful with explanations that we would go back just for her. Sometimes, you just don't need fancy and this place is it.
