This place has been on my radar for awhile for the best (takeout taco shop style) pollo asado burrito I've found in town yet (hands down). But then I made the mistake of trying the Renegado burrito. I was blown away - soooo delicious. I love it so much I've now had two in the space of three days. This is NOT going to be good for my diet! =D Service has been fast and with a smile each time I've come.

I found a bug in my drink the girl was rude she had some attitude they said they would give me a drink and when I picked a coke they said no because it was a dollar more then the drink I had gotten I was gonna let it pass but nah

Running errands in the area. Stopped in for for a to-go order of snacks. Bummed that they don't have a kid's menu. Oh well, I guess daddy gets more leftovers. I went with the standard carne asada burrito. Good tortilla, decent amount of carne and guacamole, but the pico de gallo was really heavy on the onions. I didn't care so much after drowning it in salsa, but lunch cancelled out any chances for any afternoon makeout session. Service was fast, but not the friendliest. The cashier didn't call out any ticket numbers or food orders. Instead, she yelled out, "Order ready!" Salsa is a good option to satisfy your taco shop cravings. The Salsa hospitality can be hit or miss, but it's really not a big deal as long as the food hits the spot.

Recently tried the carne aside fries at Salsa Mexican Food. I had never tried fries in a taco shop dish before (including the so-called California burrito). I can see I haven't been missing much. I honestly don't understand the attraction. First few bites were decent, but the fries quickly became all soggy and cold which made it a chore to eat. I'd much rather have a pile of carne served over hot, fresh and crispy tortilla chips. I can see this being really good though if you've drank too much! Otherwise, it just seems too heavy... The taquitos here are on the thin side, but points for service on a real plate! And a really good Mexican guacamole. No real salsa bar here, just bottles of squirt hot sauce. Sometime that's just fine with me.

The food was very good! One of the best burritos I've ever had in my life and it was extremely large.

Great tacos, especially the hard-shell chicken tacos. We picked it up, and had a great tacos lunch.

This review is long overdue, as I've been coming here nearly every Tuesday for months. Their Taco…read moreTuesday is an incredible deal at $1.50 per taco. They are street-taco sized and must be ordered in pairs, so plan on three pairs (six total) for a solid meal. I've definitely taken down eight on extra hungry nights because why not. My husband once ate twelve, but this is also a man who has finished an entire tomahawk steak solo, so maybe do not use him as your benchmark... or maybe do, because they are only $1.50. Worst case, you have breakfast tacos tomorrow. Full disclosure: my experience here is almost entirely their tacos, but they are so consistently good that this is my go-to taco shop any day of the week. Carne asada, pollo asado, and adobada are my favorites, but I have also enjoyed carnitas, birria, and shrimp. Their full-sized crispy chicken tacos are great too, and those are $1.99 on Tuesdays and ordered individually. Are these the most mind-blowing, reinvent-the-taco experience you will ever have? Probably not. But they are consistently delicious, reliable, satisfying, and priced so well that it becomes an easy, frequent treat instead of a splurge. Pro tips: If you prioritize price, bring cash, since there is a slight upcharge for credit cards. If you prioritize convenience, download the app and order ahead to skip the line.

You can taste every ingredient and there is obvious thought put into their recipes. The salsa bar is on point as well, and when they say spicy, they mean it. Whole 'lotta flavor no matter which salsa you choose. I had one issue though, to the point that I'm not sure I'll come back. When I received my order, I noticed that the bag felt lighter than usual. I didn't think much of it until I got to the car, but when I went to take a quick bite before heading home, I couldn't help but notice how small the burrito was. I know for a fact that this wasn't the case a couple years back when I was coming here regularly. I'm all too familiar with shrinkflation, and I get it, doing business isn't cheap, but I would have gladly paid a couple of extra dollars more to get a big burrito similar to the size of what you get from a 'Bertos shop, or really any SD taco/burrito joint for that matter. Place was clean, service was friendly, but I didn't leave very satisfied... $13 for a burrito this size just didn't make sense to me, no matter how good it tastes, but ~$18 for a bigger burrito with the same ingredients and quality, I would stop by on the regular. If you don't have a big appetite like me, none of this even matters, but if you do, don't come too hungry...
