    Shrimp & Steak Fajitas

This is one of my go-to places in Ramona. The server is always friendly, a welcoming and fun atmosphere, and the food is delicious. It's a nice place to come for a drink, small bite or a meal with family and friends.

    Chips and salsa. Yum!

Have not visited Ramona since 2010. I was very active in the community from 1993-2010. Nuevo Grill & Cantina was a go-to spot. When in Rome, go to Nuevo Grill or something like that. For those that remember and loved Carlos Murphy's would appreciate Nuevo Grill. The owners came from Carlos Murphy's and opened this place in Ramona. The food is good and the chips and salsa is world class. I had the Nuevo Caesar with shrimp and my wife had the Nuevo Tostada with shredded chicken. Salads were big and neither of us were able to finish them. In fact, my wife commented that she must have received an entire chicken! Service is friendly and they have acres of parking. If in Ramona, give Nuevo Grill & Cantina a try. I know you will love their chips and salsa. Yum!

Visited 4/4/2023 I waited along time to try this place as I've always heard the food wasn't up to par. Gave in today and Gave it a try. I have to say it's not going to be a favorite of mine. I'm being extremely generous with 3 Stars it's more like 2 1/2 at best for food quality. First for the good. It's a nice clean restaurant with fantastic service and nice tables and booths. There is even a few tables outside in front. My Server (Pearls) was a Lovely young lady very friendly and helpful seeing they no longer have Written Happy Hour Menus or Taco Tuesday Menus Anywhere. At least she had everything memorized right down to the prices. I understand not having specialty menus on the bar and tables when Covid dictated it but that's long over. The owner should Stop being cheep and have new ones made and displayed. The prices have gone way up beyond the quality being served. It was Taco Tuesday so I ordered 5 different Street Tacos also overpriced for a street taco anywhere. 5 to 6 dollars each. I ordered one of each. Carnitas, Fried Fish, Fried Shrimp, Calamari, and a Shredded Beef. All of the 5 fillings were not bad but had no wow factor. My favorite was The Carnitas had fantastic flavor. Sadly the Tortillas were a disaster. Very Stale tasting and you had to rip a bite off to eat them. My least favorite of the 5 was The Fried Fish. I will say The House Margarita was not bad even at $9.00 HH Price. The Corn Chips were nice and thin and fresh and crispy. The Salsa was lacking in flavor and texture like it came out of a can. The Chicken Wings, 8 wings for $10.00 HH Price were good. I ordered them Naked with BBQ sauce on the side and Ranch Dressing for dipping. All in all I give this place 3 Stars for The ambience and friendly service of the staff. To bad this place could be great with a little attention.

    Nachos for 20

Sad it used to be one of my favorite places for nachos.. ordered tonight I got half a plate of soggy nachos I called them to let them know since I had asked for a large order and they said to come in for a new order which I was glad well got the same amount and instead of saying sorry about the ordered manager said that's what u ordered she said the girl that took the order said it was a medium, she said take both orders I left the old order there that's not what I wanted I had told her they were super soggy. At least new order was not soggy but for $20 not worth it. Will include picture and I will say I had eaten 2 chips before picture. I know times are tough for everyone but this is crazy.

Cute, cozy decor! Incredibly friendly staff! Warm chips and cold minced salsa was a tasty start. The "perfect margarita" was as advertised- yum!! The chile rellenos were excellent. Well seasoned and not too mild. The carnitas were moist and flavorful. We look forward to our next visit!

Best chips & salsa in Ramona!!

Incredibly excited to be back eating inside a restaurant! For our inaugural dine-out sesh we went to Nuevo Grill & Cantina. They were among the small handful of restaurants in Ramona to have quickly adopted the new normal in accordance with San Diego County guidelines. Their 'rona protocol was seamless and professional. In fact after being seated you really couldn't tell anything was different. Other than there being absolutely nothing to touch on the tables. I remember I used to enjoy fiddling with the hanging happy hour menu thing. It was probably a petri dish so it's just as well not to have it there. Anyway, I ordered a carne asada enchilada lunch special that was outstanding. Full of their tender and flavorful char-grilled steak. One of my go-to faves here that I've ordered for many years. I was also thrilled to be indulging in their award winning chips & salsa. Paired perfectly with a nice, cold draft beer. Something I haven't been able to enjoy since March 16. The service and overall experience today at Nuevo Girl was just terrific.

Visually, it's a stunning cook--great muscle texture, a beautiful smoke ring, and a perfect bark. All the intense flavor and smoke live between the surface and that inner pink ring, so make sure your bite includes a bit of both. Man, what a delicious bite. I've been to that Michelin-recommended BBQ joint east of DTLA, and Pete's 100% blows it out of the water. This place makes California BBQ proud (that other spot is an embarrassment). I only wish they offered some zesty sides to pair with the meats to take it to the absolute next level! 1/3 lb Sausage: First bite delivers a perfect snap followed by great meat texture. Initially, you get hit with a slightly heavy saltiness, followed by a sharp, spicy goodness. I was on the fence after the very first bite, but the more you eat, the more the saltiness balances out. That snap, texture, spice, and salt combo just gets better and better until you realize you can't stop eating it. It is incredibly good. Pairing it with a creamy side perfectly complements the kick. Cornbread Upgrade: YES! The cornbread itself is delicious--excellent texture, great corn flavor, and a very mild sweetness. Plus, it comes with a honey butter blend that is next-level delicious. It was a very pleasant surprise just how good this was!

That commitment to quality and sustainability is commendable and something more restaurants should strive for. The staff is knowledgeable, and it's refreshing to see a restaurant that cares about where its food comes from. Unfortunately, that attention to ingredient sourcing seems to stop when it comes to cooking oils. Many of the menu items are prepared with soybean oil, which was disappointing given the otherwise high-quality and health-conscious image of the restaurant. Soybean oil is highly processed and contains large amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fats. While omega-6 fats are essential in moderation, excessive consumption relative to omega-3 intake has been associated with increased inflammation in some research. Soybean oil is also more susceptible to oxidation when exposed to high cooking temperatures, potentially producing compounds that some studies suggest may contribute to oxidative stress. In addition, many health-conscious consumers actively avoid industrial seed oils such as soybean, corn, and canola oils in favor of alternatives like olive oil, avocado oil, butter, or tallow. I would gladly give Marinade on Main a higher rating if they aligned their cooking oils with the same local, high-quality standards they apply to the rest of their ingredients. Switching to avocado oil or olive oil or beef talo would be a welcome improvement and would better match the restaurant's otherwise impressive commitment to quality. * also loose the standard strip of high fructose sodas and provide more natural optikns of drinks ...

They listed Dinner - but as thats the menu you get, it's available any time. On the menu, "For the Pick 2 Sides From Below", it applies to dinner portion and not the Sampler Platter. Our lovely pair of Soo and Maggie ordered the Sampler Platter with a side of Mac n Cheese. The 1/2 Pork Rib was huge for a 1/2 size. It wasn't bad with the spicy and sweet sauces which I ended up combining. Mac salad was too sour so wasn't a fan. Cole slaw was okay but definitely need more flavor or sauce. My husband and I were returning from a hiking weekend with our two doggies when we searched for a pet-friendly place to have lunch. Google suggested Farmhouse 78, and we are so glad it did. They made me feel valued as a customer and even offered to let us dine inside with our dogs. Out of respect for other guests, we chose to sit outside on their lovely patio. Everything about this place was wonderful--the cleanliness, the atmosphere, the service, and how quickly our food arrived. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the pork sandwich, and I ordered the cheeseburger with French fries. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and homemade. When I went inside to pay, I had the pleasure of meeting Cyndie at the register. I even brought friends who had never been here before, thinking it could become one of our regular stops when we're out hitting the trails. Instead, it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth... and not just from the food. Waitress: Where do I even start. She claimed she was hard of hearing--but her attitude spoke loud and clear. Tossing menus on the table, aggressively slamming salsa down, and getting snarky over being off because our party count was off by one person. Seriously? It took two seconds to adjust the table, but apparently that was just too much. Yes, she technically did her job... but with such a cold, unwelcoming, and rigid attitude that it made the whole experience uncomfortable. What really stood out? We were there first and ready to order, yet she chose to take care of every smaller table that came in after us. No communication, no "I'll be right with you," nothing. Just ignored. Basic courtesy clearly isn't part of the service here. And trust me--I used to be a waitress. I handled large parties all the time and actually communicated with my tables. It's not that hard. Honestly, if gratuity hadn't already been forced onto the bill, she would've gotten $0. The only pleasant person we encountered was the busser--quick, friendly, and actually seemed like he wanted to be there. Maybe swap their roles, because he outperformed her by a mile. Food: Let's talk about the food... if that's what we're calling it. Everything came out cold. Not "warm-ish," not "could be hotter"... just straight up cold. It felt like our plates were sitting under a heat lamp for way too long before making it to the table. One "white" friend asked to have her meal fixed--fine, no problem. But when another "Hispanic" friend asked the same thing? Suddenly there was attitude, menu slamming, and mumbling under her breath. So... what exactly was the difference? Why the inconsistency and hostility? If the kitchen is that backed up, maybe management should step in and help instead of letting food die in the window. Just a thought. Final Thoughts: This place had potential... but that waitress single-handedly ruined it. We'll be taking our group (and our money) elsewhere--Dudley's Bakery is looking like a much better option moving forward. I usually bring large groups out here, so this isn't a small loss. Unfortunately, if this is the level of service they're okay with, this place isn't going to improve anytime soon. At this point, it's less "Farmhouse charm" and more "junky barn energy."
