I wanted to experience a noodle restaurant that served various items. So I checked the Yelp reviews and a highly rated one came up, along with two others in the area. I decided to visit Ramona Noodle House at 1415 Main St, Ramona, CA 92065 (Albertson Plaza). [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was fairly small, not very wide (see picture), but was nicely decorated with wall coverings and displays. It was very clean and well maintained.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was greeted by a Ms. P, the server, who helped me with the menu and offered suggestions. She was very attentive and provided Superior Service. I ordered: Thai Ice Tea with boba pearls, Pad Thai with beef and tom yum flavor sauce (similar to sweet and sour but not as sweet). Everything was made to order and perfectly cooked. The beef was of a great quality and tender. The noodles were perfect and the Thai Ice Tea was one of the best I've experienced. The boba pearls were house made and you could really tell. I finished with Ice Cream (9 flavors available) that was non dairy, real fruit flavoring and coconut sugar for sweetness. It was really high end quality. This establishment is family owned and operated, The chef, Ms. P, really had outstanding attitudes, which was evident from the service and food quality. There was another customer having a Pho dish, who told me it was outstanding. There were several to go orders which included a Thai Iced Tea with boba pearls (yes-its that good). Great good, fast and friendly service. We bring the family here after soccer sometimes. Dining room isn't that big but we've never really had to wait. Nice atmosphere. I tried the shrimp tempura udon & Thai coffee. They were both very good. I like more milk in my Thai coffee so maybe I should have ordered the Thai tea or stuck with ice tea. The Thai coffee was very dark & sweet so if you like it that way, you're good. The shrimp tempura udon came with 5 tempura shrimp, rectangular, like out of a package. But everything was tasty and hot. The udon broth tasted more beef based than traditional fish based. There were several fish cakes & tofu so it was a hearty bowl although with fewer noodles. Service was great, well looked after. Ambiance was spartan, not fancy, okay for a small strip mall location. For Small Business Saturday went for a drive to Ramona. We had no particular destination in mind once we arrived. I had my son pick a restaurant as we were rolling into town. Ramen it was! Its a hole-in-the-wall type restaurant located in the Albertsons shopping center alongside some other small businesses. As it is common that things around the area close up pretty early we were happy this place stayed open a bit later than the other places. Son got the beef noodle and he had plenty to have there and some to bring home. Husband got a spicy shrimp bowl and he ate most of the dish there. I got the garlic chicken and egg bowl. It was a generous portion & delicious. I even got a Jasmine hot tea because it was a nice cool night out. I was able to bring some home too. There was one lady running the tables and the counter & I believe only one cook. They had many door dash pick ups and unfortunately those delivery people had to wait a long time for those orders to be ready. I think because they prioritize those who are dining in because our food came within a reasonable time frame. It was very clean and our nice server wore a mask and gloves. I cannot speak on the cleanliness of the bathroom because the business is so small that it didn't have one for the customers. We'd order from here again. read more

Only doing take-out orders and ordering online was a breeze. We ordered: -Chashu ramen -Green Curry noodles -Chicken Karaage -Garlic edamame The ramen and green curry tasted pretty good and came in a filling portion. The ramen had all the fillings included, like the noodles, eggs, pork belly, and broth. The green curry had a lot of chicken and noodles. Karaage was good, but I've had better, crispy breading elsewhere. Everything was packed neatly with the broths and noodles packed separately. Also included chili oil and seasoning which we appreciated. Only thing I didn't like was that almost everything tasted greasy and oily, especially the green curry and garlic edamame. I felt like if we left it to settle, it would harden with oil. I've never had curry and edamame with a lot of oil/fat so it was a weird experience. Other than that, my craving was satisfied. Four very solid stars for this brand new Ramona Restaurant. Ramona Noodle House is only been open for three days and I had a chance to visit with some friends last night. This establishment is different than other "Ramen" restaurants in that they serve various types of noodle soups here. For example one of the dishes contained spaghetti noodles, another dish had more of a Chinese style noodle, the one that I had was served with Ramen noodles, another one had a crunchy egg noodle. This is very unusual and a refreshing take on the concept of soup and noodles. We found the broth to be delicious the vegetables and meat tasted very fresh and the noodles were cooked perfectly. What else can you ask for at a noodle house? This is a small restaurant with only two servers and a dozen tables inside, but we found the service to be very very good. They don't serve alcohol here but they do have a nice selection of cold and hot teas, soft drinks and water. A great new Restaurant for Ramona residents or for folks just passing through. read more

Finally got in to try Ramona Noodle House! It is a very small, clean and intimate restaurant. The layout seemed odd, although it's appointed nicely with modern, slightly abstract decor. I ordered the 'Pho Beef Noodles'. If you've never had pho before, it is a very interactive dish with lots of slurping and splashing. Not at all something you can eat gracefully. The pho here is made with thin rice noodles, beef slices, beef balls and onions in a beef broth soup. Served with a side of jalapeño, lime slice, bean sprouts and basil for only $9. The pho came out in a huge bowl, roughly the size of a small lampshade, and piping hot. It held a generous amount of rice noodles. The broth lacked any sort of depth or complexity that I'm used to. The beef slices were not very tender and seemed to clump up on themselves. Now, I am no authority on Oriental beef balls, but the texture and mouthfeel seemed like they were overly mechanically processed and somewhat artificial tasting. I don't know how else to describe it. The beef balls had no flavor whatsoever. The accoutrement plate on the side was underwhelming. The jalapeños and lime looked and felt as if they were sliced about 8 hours prior to my arrival. Could have been the day before, I don't know. Overall, not among the best bowls of pho I've had, but it did hit the spot on a cold winter night in Ramona! The service here was noticeably top-shelf! I felt welcomed and taken care of the whole time by the professional staff. Water was kept filled (no beer & wine); they were fast, friendly and efficient. If noodle houses are your thing and you're up the hill, this place is worth checking out. I might order something different next time. read more

Great friendly little place, family run, hidden away in a strip mall. You really can't see it from Main Street (CA 67), but it's right there near the big supermarket. I've been twice now and both times were pleasant surprises in food and cleanliness. The place is absolutely spotless. Not many eateries can make that claim. Check my photos of the food. The crispy pork curry is made with the coveted pork belly and it's crispy on the outside and tender inside. The perfect complement is the yellow curry sauce. Not too strong and rich with fresh ginger. All of this goodness soaks into an underlying bed of rice. Price was super reasonable and the portion ample, even for this big eater! I was pushing a bit to finish the serving and I could (should) have taken some home. It looked like takeout was popular when I visited on a Sunday evening.
