We order from here regularly. My typical go to is the steak taco salad. It is such a large portion! I would describe it more as a burrito bowl in large fried tortilla bowl. This time around i got the shrimp a la diabla plate! It comes with rice, beans, and tortillas. The shrimp was super spicy but i couldnt stop eating it! Im one of those who rolls my eyes when i see a restaurant list their food as 'spicy' because it typically isnt. But these shrimps were definitely spicy! Again, this is me as your friendly vegetarian Yelper friend weighing in on a taqueria solely based on their: - Rice - Beans - Salsa And if that doesn't seem helpful for you, you can just keep scrolling down and find someone more reliable commentin' on the carne, buck-o. (Sorry, that sounded a lil' blunt but I'm just being realistic.) I found Salsa on accident when someone had the absolute nerve to try to give me walking directions to a taqueria when we weren't far from here. He was trying to guide me to the taqueria in the Park 'N Shop plaza across the street, but my absence of navigational skill led me to Salsa Mexican Grill instead and I'm sure it was fate. Because I didn't know the establishment well enough, I kept it simple: an order of rice and black beans with salsa on the side. My first cause célèbre was that when I got back to where I came from, my food was still piping hot. That can be a deal-breaker for me and is often an issue with rice and beans. The second joyous moment came when I started eating the food and found that it actually was flavorful and I had made the right decision in going with my new discovery. Again, I know this review is based entirely on rice and beans and that may not be enough for you to judge a taqueria on. But ingredients are usually like building blocks, and a place has to be able to arrange and hold down the staples well in order to execute the bigger renditions (like those quesabirria tacos you love). I'm very frustrated and disappointed with my camarones a la diabla. It was not flavorful at all, the only thing you could taste was the extreme spiciness of the pepper and a lot of oil. This is coming from someone who actually loves spicy food, so it wasn't enjoyable, just overwhelmingly spicy without any depth of flavor. On top of that, there were only about 6 pieces of shrimp, and the rest of the dish was mostly vegetables soaked in the same spicy sauce. For a $21 dish, that's a very small amount of protein. I ended up only eating the sides that came with it (guacamole, pico de gallo, beans, sour cream, and rice) because it felt wasteful to throw away food that expensive. I also wish there had been some warning about how extremely spicy it was. Overall, it was disappointing for the price. Please do better. read more

Super quick and amazing service! We didn't have to wait long at all for our food which I appreciate since I do have little kids! I love how when you walk in there is plenty of tables and colorful decorations everywhere including the ceilings! It felt like we just walked into a family gathering which made me and my family feel very comfortable! I placed a rather late night, doordash order with Salsa, a carne asada super burrito and an al pastor soft taco. This was my first time having this restaurant's food. It was delicious!! The super burrito held up to its name (huge!) and was packed full of flavorful steak. The 2nd half is waiting for me to finish tomorrow :) The Al pastor taco was crispy and flavorful too. Twice in a row, we've received borderline fresh food here. Today, the avocado was super brown in the salad. The visit before, not only was the avocado brown, but some of the condiments were questionable: the limes were bone dry and the cilantro was either wilted or slimy. 1. I placed an order and was given the wrong items and was told I was not charged for any extra items. I advised I would pay for the rest but could they fix the order, they came back and forth with the wrong items for over 10 minutes. 2. The cashier did not know how to ring up sour cream, cheese or salsa and the owner was upset with me about the wrong items. After 15 minutes I asked the owner for a refund and he said he was not giving me a refund because the food was "done". 3. When I asked for the complimentary bag of chips that comes with the order the OWNER attempted to give me a bag of chips that an employee was EATING OUT OF! 4. Do not order from Uber eats. We called ahead to check on our order to make sure it was correct and they still left out multiple items which we were not refunded for. We were not refunded, though we tried very hard overall making it a not good experience. The food was on par with the other shops around, some of the chips were soggy. And I think I'm a good judge of burritos as I usually order it when I crave Mexican food, which is often. Mexican is my favorite food! The burrito was well seasoned with just enough heat that I noticed it, but not so much that it's all you think about while eating it. But this review also includes the catering I ordered, and the reason I stopped into Salsa. An account recommended Salsa for a luncheon for 30 people. I ordered the taco bar with a variety of meats. Wow! Everything was delicious, from the salad, fixin's and salsas. My favorite was the well-season chopped beef. I ate it rolled in a tortilla with everything I could stuff and roll, and then filled a plate mixed with guac, fixins, rice & beans and anything else included in the taco bar, as a Mexican salad. The beauty of such a spread is you can be creative on how you make a plate of food. Needless to say I over ate. I was in the area one evening and decided to pop in for dinner. I found the interior to be very clean, and the salsa bar had a nice selection of salsas and other sides. I'm a creature of habit. Usually when I get Mexican food, I pretty much order the same entrees all the time. As much I as love burritos, I don't get them too often. I didn't plan on getting a burrito from here initially, but had to get one after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures about them. Their burritos seem to be very popular, so I had to give the crowd favorite a try. I ordered their super wet burrito with chicken which came slathered in delicious red sauce and topped with sour cream. It was incredibly tasty! It was stuffed to the max with chicken and very flavorful. Not to mention, this burrito was MASSIVE! I finished half of it there and ate the other half the next day for lunch. I'm always a fan of yummy leftovers! This burrito was huge, filling, and cost me under $10! Score! Their price points are very reasonable, and they even have happy hour specials every day from 2-7. This isn't a full service restaurant, but the staff was really friendly and seemed excited to be there. All in all, it's a solid option for a good burrito if you're in the area. We decided to try out a new Mexican restaurant for dinner & Salsa did not disappoint! I called in the order & it was ready in 10 minutes! I ordered a carne asada taco, carne asada crispy taco, grilled chicken quesadilla & a shredded chicken super burrito. The carne asada was super good & tender! The grilled chicken was delicious & perfectly marinated. My husband really enjoyed his crispy taco (more than his burrito). The only complaint I had about my quesadilla was that it needed more cheese. The edges were a lot of tortilla with no cheese & it was a little greasy. But greasy = delicious haha. The meal also came with lots of chips & salsa, which we very much enjoyed. We will definitely be back to Salsa very soon! read more

We used them for a catering lunch for 100+ people and they were phenomenal! We did their Taco Bar and they give you so much food we were able to do a nacho bar as an afternoon snack! Since Covid I haven't been able to eat out like I used to but so glad that Salsa is open for business and you're able to order via door dash. I've been order food to go for a bit now and each time it is delicious. My favorite items are the BBQ Chicken super burrito and the chicken mole. I usually have to cut the burrito in half which is fine because it's perfect to munch on later. The staff has been super helpful because I've got picky eaters that visit sometimes so when I order they are always sure to double confirm what needs to be excluded. This place has become my go-to spot for authentic, delicious Mexican food. They have a very extensive salsa selection that spans a range from mild and Smokey to incredibly melt your face off spicy. If you are feeling adventurous ask them for the secret Carolina Reaper salsa from behind the counter, but beware... I always get a house made chorizo taco and the pozole, but you really can't go wrong with any of their offerings. They often have specials that are unique in that they draw upon some of the less common traditional dishes, which is a nice way to mix it up. I found a veggie burrito that actually has veggies in it! Zucchini, mushrooms, peppers and onions with beans and rice. I added wet burrito status and guacamole and it is delicious. If you are vegetarian, they have multiple vegetarian items on their menu. read more

Not content to be just your typical menu with tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and quesadillas, this place also features more upscale Mexican fare such as tostadas de tinga, camarones al diablo, and mole. There are also breakfast menu items and vegetarian items. Complimentary chips and salsa come with each order. However, don't be fooled by the more upscale items: Fine dining it is not. Good, extensive menu variety. The menu doesn't look any longer than a typical Mexican restaurant menu, so I don't know what got cut in order to put up the more exotic items. However, the salsa wasn't sitting on a bed of ice, or even chilled, while we were there, so I question the freshness factor at the salsa bar. They also seem to have a fly problem during the warmer months of May and June. Some sketchy people abound outside but did not enter. The food was great. I appreciate a good mole, but it was a little spicier and not as sweet as I would have liked. (I was told it's the sweeter chocolate-based one, not the spicy one) Like Nathan M. said on 12/4/15, it's not your standard Mexican menu, nor is it California-style, Southwestern, Latin fusion, Tex-Mex, or any other common variation of Mexican, so don't come here if you want standard Mexican.
