Just got Chipotle tonight over off Faith Road and it reminded me how good Salsarita actually is and that I shouldn't give in to the hype of Chipotle. The service at Salsarita is consistently good. The servers and managers are always so polite and attentive. The food looks fresh and stocked even late into the night, right before they close. I prefer the taste of Chipotle, but given how good Salsarita's service is, I'd much rather spend my money and time at Salsarita. A plus here is that they have a taco salad bowl. And their queso is waaaaaaay better and I don't even really like queso. Also, the chips are perfectly salted and taste fresh. Skip Chipotle and go for Salsarita, you won't regret it. read more

I went and was so disappointed. We went at 6:30 and it closed at 7:00, so we knew would be closing but was not expecting it not to to good. They were out of several things but we understand shortages on supplies so decided to stay and deal with that. Then when got up to order the bar was very dirty. The employee was nice, so we got food and then no ice in machines, went to table to sit down and the floors had chips and dirt all over and table dirty. So I tried to eat food, but a taco with cold hamburger meat is not good. I bought 4 meals and threw mine away. It was not good. The chips had a lot of seasoning on them also, the people with me was scraping of some of the seasoning to eat them. So it will be a very long time before going back. read more

Okay first let me say that food here is bomb. It's a little pricey BUT worth it. If you don't want the full Mexican meal, come here. It's worth the money. Secondly, I know covid has businesses losing their employees but not sure how this happened, but me and my boyfriend ordered online to pick up (he never tried this place before) *mind you were about 40 minutes away from this restaurant * after picking up our food, came back to the house our food was destroyed. Meaning they had actually threw our food in the boxes. My shell was smashed and my boyfriends food was the same. Well during all this, somehow they charged us twice. I called and called until someone picked up. We eventually came back up there to get a refund. Well, the next day they charged us again. Now at this point we have gone back and forth almost three times. But, the last time we went up there they were very nice to refund us for the other two transactions and everything. For some of the people who work there, if you don't like your job. Get one you like because treating their customers food like that ain't going to go to well. I decided to finally give them a try. I hadn't heard that much about them since they are very new to town. I walked in and was greeted with a smile, already better than the other place in town not worth mentioning. I was so indecisive with what I wanted. There are so many options. Going in I was excited to know that they had Shrimp. But looking at all the options I wasn't so sure anymore. But one of the preparers asked me if I wanted to try a Shrimp. Sure! And throw a piece of steak in there while you're at it. Both were so tasty and full of flavor. So I decided on a Shrimp Taco combo & a Steak Taco combo, both with a Hard & Soft taco. As they were preparing my tacos I was less than impressed. She literally took the very tip of the spoon and dipped it in the steak for my taco & gave me 3 shrimp in each taco. VERY disappointing. They haven't got their portions together yet. I asked for very little Pico and was loaded with it. One thing I also didn't like was how large the bell peppers were cut and they needed to be cooked a tiny bit more. They overpowered my tacos and there were only a couple in each. If they'd been smaller they wouldn't have been as bad. Eating my Tacos they were pretty good but I know they can be better. Because I was able to taste nice, clean fresh flavors. I'm definitely willing to give them another try and update my review accordingly. I heard the Shrimp Nachos are better so I'll be trying that next! But regardless, even based on this experience, they are 10 times better than Go Burrito! read more

The food was a Chipotle imitator but not as good. Ambience is nice and clean. The menu is more diverse than Chipotle. The people are nice and patient as I looked over the menu. I ordered the shrimp bowl and I wished the shrimp was more fresh and rice was more flavored. Overall, not a bad substitute since Chipotle is an hour away from me. The best thing on the menu was the chips. Chips were very very crispy and yummy. Very fresh. The salsas were also very tasty and yummy. I used to love Salsarita's when I worked in Charlotte. Decided to give the one here in Salisbury a try and I'm not sure if the rice recipe has changed but it def wasn't the same. Tomatoes were watery and tasted old. All in all I would say the food was okay but I think I'll stick to Chipotle. read more

Was very excited when a job change put me close to a Salsaritas (previous job was close to one as well) Oh was I disappointed. They reused food from days before (lettuce in the container was brown, wilted and almost slimy) the Spanish rice was dry and off colored, there was dried salsa around its container (I arrived 30 mins after opening) If I want Salsaritas, I'll just travel down to South Charlotte and get it from there. This restaurant is pretty OK. It's more convenient than Go Burrito and more expensive. I've been a few times. I think my favorite thing here is the chips and queso, the chips are far better than Go Burrito. I go here to satisfy those cheap burrito cravings every once im awhile. One complaint is the rice- in every bite of burrito you find that one hard piece of rice that throws the whole burrito off. The employees are awesome though- generous and relatable. Ate here last night with my family. The food was fine, but the service is another story. All of the employees seemed to be either high school or early college.(young nonetheless) The cashier seemed very irritated or maybe she was just simply that rude. There was no friendliness coming from her at all. We were one of the three tables finishing up as it reached closing. One of the other tables had went to refill their beverage and mentioned there wasn't any tea up at the counter. I had planned on refilling also. Did I mention that it was only 3 minutes past closing time? An employee (young man) was walking past our table and I asked him, "did u put three tea away"? He replied, "yeah". He never asked, let alone did he offer to refill my cup. I myself have worked many years in food service and have been eager for closing(especially on a Saturday night) but that was just simply wrong. Our new favorite place to go for casual, quick Mexican meal. We were impressed by the quick cafeteria style service. All the ingredients right in front of you. You see them make your meal. We liked that. Great service. Answered our questions about the menu. I ordered the special that day which was their Mexican cheese smothered shrimp burrito. It was so loaded with the ingredients that I chose, that I had to eat it with a knife and fork. (only minus was plastic ware so flimsy, that I made a mess trying to cut the burrito into manageable bite size portions.) Fresh ingredients. Seating wasn't too bad, other than being too close together. we went at a busy time, and there was only three places to sit. We chose the circular dining table. Was great for us. Out door seating too. Refills on your drinks! Price was a little high for my meal as I got the one item and had to pay for my drink, too. Will definitely go there again. read more

Went to check things out a few weeks after the opening. I opted for the chicken quesadilla with some chips and salsa along with a drink. The server that prepared the food seemed to be concerned about putting too much chicken on the quesadilla. The chicken was very dry and had some kind of funky sauce on it that did not appeal to me. The chips seem to be ok. Salsa ....you get to pick from one kind and that's it Oh and if you don't like hot salsa that's just too bad. Based on my experience I will not be going back for a second round. Think I will just stick to Go Burrito where the portions are large , a larger variety of salsas , and better prices. Arrived at the restaurant on Cinco de Mayo at 845 pm. Was quickly informed they were not going to serve us because they were about to close at 900pm. Been here several times and I'm really surprised they have managed to stay in business with so many high quality Mexican restaurants in such close proximaty (Go Burrito for instance). I got that they want to go home on time but it's a bit ridiculous that they shut down service before they actually close. Perhaps they should change the hours to 830 on a Friday night to prevent any issues in the future??? read more

My kids often want to go to Salsarita's, but on more than one occasion we have had issues at this location. Once there was a pencil in the lettuce which I pointed out, they removed it but continued to try and serve me lettuce from the same container. After requesting new lettuce they replaced it. There is a cashier (worked 2/219 in the evening) that has a permanent frown on her face. She is one of the rudest people I have ever come in contact with. I have seen her belittle co-workers on more than one occasion and most recently she was so disrespectful and rude to my daughter. My daughter's food was made by accident with sour cream. When she told the girl that made it, the girl was going to make a new one but the cashier told her to pick it off they weren't making a new one. You can't pick off sour cream! They finally made one and she made a rude remark about us wasting food and to put it in the back. They are always out of peppers and onions and scrape from the bottom of the pan. If you ask if they have more they say you'll have to wait five min for them to cook some. As much as I want to like it and have tried and tried - it just doesn't get better. read more
