I opted for the burnt ends sandwich on Texas toast ( recommended by our server Katy instead of the bun) which was a great choice. The meat was super tender, great smoke and kissed with a little bbq and those luscious caramelized onions. I decided on side of collard greens and mac 'n cheese. Hubby had the Texas Trinity which consisted of ribs, sliced brisket and sliced jalapeño cheese sausage link served with the best hush puppies and he decided on sides of collard greens and sweet potato casserole. Note, sorry the brisket was almost devoured before I could take the pic. Everything was seasoned to perfection! The brisket and jalapeño cheese sausage was the best he's had since leaving Texas in 2006; so good in fact that he ordered 2 additional links to go! With bellies full, took the delicious peach cobbler to-go...YUM! GO Here! We sat at the bar and had a PBR or 2. Bartender Penny helped walk us thru the menu and make excellent choices for me and my husband while traveling on a Sunday at a 11am opening. WOW! So good we needed a box. 3 meats tray with 3 sides. Perfectly chopped and flavorful barbque no sauce needed but a top of red slaw and sauce is how we like it. Pork Spare Ribs were delish with smoke flavor ordered dry and put our own sauce. Brisket delicious with full flavor. We chose kickin collard greens and baked beans, got a sample of the red slaw and then asked for a full side as we use a topper too! Cornbread was like a sweet cake. The hush puppies were crispy on the outside and not dried out on the inside. French fries had some kind of coating along with potato skin....they were good. Stopped in for an early lunch with my son today and was pleasantly surprised. The parking lot was full and I expected a wait to be seated but we were greeted and seated immediately upon entering. Our waitress was prompt and checked on us often in a way that felt genuine. The servings were very big and I'm glad the sides were served in containers. We visited here while on vacation (celebrating our engagement) and were blown away by how attentive, sweet and welcoming the (to go) staff were. We had no idea what we wanted to try and they were all so incredibly helpful and kind! I will say the portion sizes are HUGE and absolutely delicious!!! While we didn't eat in, I saw the dining area and it just looked like the perfect place to have family dinner. It's the kind of place where everyone knows your name, the staff is amazing, the food is fantastic and the laughs together are everlasting. My parents were with us and got pulled pork & pulled chicken. I stole a hush puppy from my mom and it was delicious! Their sides were spectacular--broccoli salad, corn, and macaroni. My husband got a brisket sandwich with macaroni. His brisket was fantastic! You could see the smoke ring and it tasted smoky, it was tender, flavorful. My daughter got chicken tenders with macaroni--typical for her but she definitely enjoyed it. I got a pulled pork sandwich with white slaw, fried okra, and sweet potatoes. My dad took a few and said they were so perfectly cooked that it was like throwing down some popcorn. The sweet potatoes made me think of Thanksgiving! I kept hearing about the smoke pit so I made a special trip out to experience it, and it did not disappoint. The interior has such southern charm and is very clean and bright. The server was attentive and so so nice, she made me feel right at home and gave great suggestions about sides and meats. The bbq was amazing! I tried the pulled pork and the sausage and I tried several of their bbq sauces available on the table. There wasnt a single one I didnt like. I went on a wednesday and you get an extra free side so I took advantage and got slaw, Mac n cheese, and the fried okra. It came with pickles and pickled onions and your choice of hushpuppies or cornbread. To be honest the only underwhelming thing were the hushpuppies. They were basically cookout hushpuppies, not homemade or original, however the okra blew me away it was so freaking delicious! The place was pretty quiet for the reasons above, but the staff were super friendly and attentive even though they probably just wanted to go home and watch the game. All that said - fantastic bbq. The Texas trinity was huge. Three rib bones, 2 generous slices of brisket, a cut up sausage, tons of toast and brisket Mac and cheese. I got a couple of wings just to try them. Everything was top notch. Smoked ribs can be dry and these were on the dry side, but slathered in their bbq sauce, they were tender and fatty in all the best ways. This is the perfect "pit stop" right off I-85. I ordered the pound of brisket with a side of beans and white slaw. The brisket had just the right balance of flavor and tenderness, and I really enjoyed it--especially the original sauce, which was by far my favorite. My brother took me out for my birthday and we had a feast. Started with the fried pickles. They were sour but good with the ranch. Not to much batter. Now for the main entree. We had the 7 meat feast. Comes with 1 pound of each meats, four pinto size sides and I added the beef Dino bone for a extra $30. The total of the seven meat is $150. I liked the ribs and the turkey. Today we had lunch at The Smoke Pit in Salisbury after a visit to Dan Nicholas Park. Wow, this place was great. The prices are definitely on the higher side, this was $107 all said, but the food quality was excellent and the portions were generous. I had the Dino beef rib which was truly immense, and so insanely tender and flavorful. I'd say it's a must try for this place. My husband had the burnt ends which were flavorful as well, very saucy and delicious. My daughter's pork ribs were a bit less tender but very tasty. All of the sides were great. The Smoke Pit never fails to succeed!!! If you are going to the Smoke Pit on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night, BE PREPARED TO WAIT. But, I can see why there is always such a long wait because the food is so good!! The sweet tea is always SWEET, but good. It is not weak, nor too strong. Just right!! The servers are always very kind, and move fast! The food comes out quickly, which is usually a bonus. First off, I gotta start with the mac and cheese. It is cheesy, baked, just simply perfection. You gotta get the mac and cheese as one of your sides. It is indescribably good! The brisket is also fantastic, but I would recommend either getting the lean brisket, or both the fatty and lean brisket. This is because the fatty brisket is very fatty, and may hurt your stomach afterwards. The lean is also fatty, so it's not like it won't be tender either way!! In my opinion, the sizzling barbecue sauce pairs best with the brisket. The fried okra is fresh, while the hush puppies are warm and slightly crunchy (What I like)! The fried pickles are either hit or miss. Sometimes they have good flavor, while other times they are too sour. The ranch is good, though! They rotate different cobblers each day, and I tried the blueberry. It is good, but needs something cool with it to make it even better! The banana pudding is good, but is a bit runny and has way more wafers than banana slices. The atmosphere is just like any other modern BBQ restaurant. Simple, spacious, and country music. So we tried smoke pit out once back when we were living in Lexington. We got takeout at the time because everything was closed down at the time in 2020. We've since moved from Lexington, but we visited the area and I could recall the food being good from here. Turns out, the food is great from here, still! Our first time dining in, and the service was blazing fast and friendly. Seriously, I could not believe how fast our food came out for a family of four! I've waited longer for fast food. The restaurant was clean with a pleasant light wood stain motif for the interior, and we sat at a fairly comfortable booth, despite no cushioning. The burnt ends was just absolutely incredible, and the Dino bone was expensive but also amazing! Juicy, nice sauce, great smoke flavor and so tender! Man...I'll be back sooner than another 5 years, let me just be clear on that! Very pleased, and do not skip the jambalaya! It was so good with only a hint of spice, but I have a fairly high spice tolerance. My wife felt it was rather spicy but enjoyed it as well. I love The Smoke Pit in Concord. This location was a disappointment. The parking is difficult and ackward. The accustics are terrible. Loud Loud Loud! Screaming children and babies echo throughout the dining room. Great service. Portions are larger in Concord and the food is better. If you want good BBQ in NC, then find yourself a Smoke Pit. This location was between Charlotte and Winston-Salem and was packed even after 1p when we arrived. They were out of Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, so I opted for the Ribs instead. I already had my mouth set on Brisket! The ribs were a worthy substitute! Service was great with our waiter refilling soda pops like Kobayashi's handlers bringing more water for washing down hot dogs and buns. Instead of that hot dog trash, I was stuffing my face with Texas Toast, Ribs, and Texas Style brisket, which was good, but not total melty goodness. The Mac N Cheese Side was pretty great as was the deviled egg potato salad, which tasted a lot like those eggs you typically find at a picnic or cookout. The Texas Toast was a little cold but still hit the spot. The lunch prices were so great. I spent almost $30 on lunch at Noble Smoke for a lot less food and my lunch platter was only $17.99 and it was loaded with food. I left pretty full! Not only is this place serving up delicious food but the prices can't be beat. We got there in time for lunch and the 2 meat combo w/ 2 sides and cornbread was just under $20. The portion was generous and I had plenty of leftovers not pictured are the extra sides I bought that are also reasonably priced.
