We bought our Jeep from a dealership in Northern Virginia, so our experiences at Salsbury's has only been for service. Never talked to anyone in Senior Management even after requesting such, just sales managers. 6. Was offered $250 off.... ---- I was working with Jarrad via email and text to try and buy a Wrangler and after I made an offer, he responded with "Man if I could do $33, you don't think I would have told you that? Give me $33,750 and bring me some spring rolls and pho" (I am Vietnamese-American). Since this was obviously wildly inappropriate, I sent the dealership a message via FB to have the Owner or GM contact me. Jarrad called me back and apologized. Several hours later, Tabbatha the Internet Sales Manager called to say that the she had been asked to call me to apologize and asked me the details of our interaction (not sure why she didn't just ask Jarrad). She said she would speak to the Owner to see what she could do. Several hours after that... Jerry the Sales Manager called me to say he also been asked to call but had no details... Not sure why he also didn't ask Jarrad or Tabbatha. Jerry also apologized but couldn't turn off his salesman hat, consistently trying to *see what we can do to get you into this car* and in the end offered me ***$250*** off what Jarrad offered me. This place is an absolute joke. I wonder how they can stay in business. I purchased a jeep from them after the 2016 floods. I needed a car desperately and they new it. I paid way over than I should have but I guess that's my fault. Now after selling my jeep I'm trying to get my extended warranty refund back $2,000.00. Upon calling Harley he assured me I would be receiving my check in 4 weeks which I thought was along period of time but ok. It's been over 2 months. I have called several times but obviously they don't return phone calls. I guess once they have your money there is no more need for customer service. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. My wife and I love our Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland - BUT the service for Jeeps is not on par with the car or its price. We were about to buy another Grand Cherokee Overland for my Mother, but after my numerous horrible experiences with Jeep service centers - we will most likely look for something else. Today a Salsbury service person hung up on me when I asked for a manager but let's start at the beginning.... We dropped off the Grand Cherokee at 7:45 after calling last week. When dropping it off the service rep asks if we have an appointment - when we called the service rep said that they don't take appointments and to bring it by before 8 am on Monday! There are 2 recalls, but we also have 3 other warrantee issues and need the first oil change. I asked them to call me with an time estimate- as I travel and I need to know if it is going to take longer than one day. I hear nothing, so I call at 11:30. No one answers in service so I leave a voice mail. They did call me back- but they have no idea how long it will take. Their excuse, "we are just doing the recall work and won't look at the rest of the list until that is done and we will call you later when someone looks at it". I said that is not what I asked for or was told. I would like to talk to a manager - to which the service representative huffed loudly and hung up. read more

This is not a company that can be trusted. A diagnostic test could mean only their eyes reviewing the problem. A $1,400.00 problem turned into a nightmare. After three days the same problem appeared. Now the good folks at Salsbury say its only $1,000.00 to fix a problem that could have happened after they fixed the vehicle in the same area. There was a bunch of double talk and no solutions. They tried to tell me that there isn't a diagnostic test for the coolant system but every repair shop I talked to says the system should have been pressure tested. Roger and Chris were not helpful and truly cannot be trusted to give me an honest answer. I need a refund so I can get my vehicle fixed somewhere else!!! read more

Update*** So after the service department responded to this Yelp review, I contacted them as requested. I will post a picture of the email I received from them asking me to call to try and resolve the issue. I got no where, in fact, I should have never called. The service manager, Shelby Rainey, offered no resolution. He was quite rude over something so miniscule and it seemed as if he only wanted to have a confrontation. It's nice to know, for future reference, Chrysler does not depend on their certified service technicians to decide if a problem will be fixed. They depend on low quality digital images to decide if your problem will be fixed or not. I was also informed that they do not intervene for the customer, even when they may think it appropriate. Basically, they rely on a picture and a yes or no back from Chrsyler, case closed, there is no disputing it. I won't lose sleep, but I will tell this story many times over, as its pretty ridiculous and a huge cautionary tale as to how you will be treated after your purchase. Hop on over to Facebook and unfortunately you will find MANY negative reviews about the service department. I sure wish I would have seen those prior to me buying from them. That many reviews from different people, over an extended period of time, definitely signifies a huge internal problem. Brought my 2008 ram 1500 in for a rattle in my exhaust/catalytic converter. I had to pay the diagnostic charge of $100. I was told they had to replace a bracket that was supposed to hold the exhaust. Total bill was $197. Two days later the exact rattle started again. I looked under the truck and all I could see as being replaced was to nuts on a rusty u-bolt. I called twice and the service manager would never return my call nor would any one I spoke to tell me what the warranty was on such work. Terrible. I went to salsburys dodge city to get my Dodge Dart repaired after hitting a pot hole. They stated the left knuckle was bent and needs to be replaced. I took my car to my insurance inspection and they quoted the control arm. They showed me the damage and after the part was replaced that fixed the issue. After the part was replaced salsbury did they alignment and they couldn't even get that right. They said they couldn't align one of the back tired and I probably had frame damage. I took my dodge to the Toyota dealership and they told me the Dodge Dart has a unibody cast design and frame damage would be unlikely. They checked for frame damage and couldn't find any problems. I asked them to align the tires and they had no problem doing that either. I don't know what they are doing over at salsbury dodge city service center but they are terrible at it!! This dealership gets less than one star from me for their service area. Getting an appointment takes at least a week or more! The service advisers I have talked to have all been very nice, but, timeliness is what counts. They do not have an express lane for oil changes. I have been give the excuse that the jeep dealerships in the area shrunk from 4 to 3 therefore creating the long wait times. Did they not realize when they agreed to take on Brian Harris? They have had two years to expand and improve their service area but have done nothing. Even the cosmetics of the place are horrible: it's old and filthy. Trust is key (especially long distance) & not only did they earn my trust, they also trusted me enough to take the car off their sales listings for 2 days until my daughter was able to make the trip to see the car that she drove home with the same day! I'm from Texas but use Salsbury's when I'm in the greater Baton Rouge area to service our commercial vans. We purchased a Sprinter from them in 2005 and have since happily moved on to the new ProMaster vans. Among Dodge dealers, any van owner can tell you that some sell the big vans as an afterthought and others dive head first into it and make it a core business. Salsbury's is the latter. Their service is always excellent, friendly, and prompt and they're committed to selling the vans and being great at it. Prices are fair and their "Express" oil change actually is quick, unlike some other dealers. The facility is older but they're supposedly building a new facility down the road so that should be nice. The service waiting area has free Community Coffee and there are plenty of comfy chairs and magazines to read while you wait. Between Salsbury's in Baton Rouge and Helfman in Houston, I'm blessed with two very decent dealers to take care of me while I'm traveling the Gulf Coast for work. read more

Took my 2007 Dodge Charger to Salsbury Dodge , because oil light was coming on , they fixed it . I picked up my car and the next day while coming from work I noticed a bad vibration while driving . I took car back to Salsbury Dodge , they told me that my wheel hub bearing were bad , I authorized them to replace bearings , which costed over 900.00 . Pick my car up the next day and I felt the same vibration, I took it right back and they put my car back on the rack to find out that my motor mount were bad . Dawn in the service department is a lazy piece of wasted space in the universe who has the personality of a snake and the brains of a flea. When we asked for our vehicle back because we refused to pay their $120 extortion fee just to have them check the warranty, they told us to wait. There were no more cars in line, but they still wanted to make us wait. Did not get our truck back until I blocked the service entrance with my car and honked the horn for five minutes straight. Very upset with this service center. Had a recall on my 2010 Dodge ram, pinion nut. Beside the mere fact they had my truck for over 2 months. They still did a piss poor job in repairing. I walked in and spoke to a women I informed her of my contract and without looking me up she said that my oil changes aren't covered! I said yes they are I just spoke with a man who said I have two left! Again she informed me that it wasn't until I said YES THEY ARE I HAVE A CONTRACT! Its horrible they charge 2,000.00 for a computer an later on it started acting up motor kept going off, key didn't work it had a chip in it, when I did brought it in they wanted to tell me, it was nothing wrong with computer your truck is running that meant they program my keys that why it start running why could they just tell me that. But they want to tell me that something else was wrong with my truck, I had my mechanic put a new battery a new starter a new ignition system they told me that something wrong with ignition switch. But I was looking right at the mechanic when he put a new ignition switch in. They said the part that u put in, it was bad I know they lied they didn't change the computer I told Assistant service manager I put a new ignition switch in my truck. Now if the part bad where u put key in it need to be change so if I put a new ignition switch why would u change it. The next day I call Assistant manager did u change my ignition switch He said hold on he came back an said he changed it out I said why did you do that when I told you not to do that I call Chrysler Headquarters while I was on the phone the Assistant service manager text me you need to pick your truck we going to sale it I told the Chrysler Headquarters do that sound like someone professional She said she agree an told me that Salabury was a Independent company talk to the General manager So I went to talk to the General manager He seemed like he was prepared for what I was going to say, I told him that there was two side to every story General manager call his service manager an he lie about everything I told them that I didn't come here to argue with you all. This place is lucky that a minimum of 1 star is required. I have searched for as many places as possible to write a review about this place, so here's another venue. I have a leased Jeep Cherokee which I initially got from Brian Harris, in which case the service declined immediately upon this change. I was never notified from the get-go that the dealership had even changed, much less that the building didn't even exist anymore when I tried to go for another oil change. I had gotten a couple of oil changes at the Brian Harris location, which were as pleasant as oil change experiences can be. Since then I have had to deal with the Service Dept at Salsbury's which I have made a point to complain to every person I know so they don't have to experience the same people and service that I have. From mis-information on the phone to schedule Recall maintenance (which I had to reschedule because the person on the phone misinformed me and told me walk-ins were allowed for Recalls, which they are not)... to picking up my car and waiting additional hours after they say it's ready. During this wait in the waiting room I had to listen to the employees do all of the following - loudly complain about other employees not showing up; tell me that because their coworkers didn't show up, work was not able to be completely timely; eat pizza; smoke; become fiesty when asking for a status update (note - I had already received a phone call that my car was ready, so I left work for this); and the list goes on. The service advisers are rude, there is nothing quick about this place, they do not work with you, your time constraints, or your convenience as a customer. Unfortunately I love my car but can't wait for my lease to finish so I can tell this dealership that I will GLADY never step foot in this place again. I've wasted numerous days off of work for this place and will be extremely glad to move back to first class service such as Team Toyota. read more

Would not recommend dealing with Rob Dubard (at this dealership) if you are looking for a honest person to purchase a vehicle from. We spent a full day back and forth on the phone with this dealership and our bank, got the approval letter from our bank and the dealership said we were good to go. Drove almost 3 hours to this dealership and a few minutes after we get there they have this ridiculous appraisal saying they can't give us what they told us they would give us for our truck. They want to give us $6000 less??? It was the most ridiculous appraisal I've ever seen to be honest with you! Brakes $300?? Come on! Funny I just had them changed a month ago. Just trying to make a buck! That's sad! But what really upsets me is the way Rob Dubard (one of the sales managers) treat us and tried to justify and make up excuse after excuse about why our truck wasn't worth what they told us they would give us for it! Disgusted. I brought my 2011 dodge durango in for recall service. One of the recalls was a defective brake booster, which they told me they fixed. I was still having issues stopping my car after having it serviced. So I had a local mechanic check it out. He bled my brakes, checked pads and rotors and everything was fine. He told me that I have a vaccum pressure issue (recall). I called Salsbury and told them my problem and Tim's words to me were, "bring it in for testing, if you choose not to fix the problem it will cost you $105 for the checkup, and if it is the brake booster thats giving you problems, the cost to replace that is anywhere from $400-$800". I got a second opinion from Ralph Sellers who told me that my brake booster failed the tests, and as soon as I start my car all of the pressure inside the booster leaks out. Also told me that the brake pressure I have now I similar to a vehicle made in the 50's, and that he cannot believe someone let me drive away like that especially after seeing a carseat in the backseat. Ralph Sellers is replacing my brake booster free of charge on Thursday. So I would like to thank them for looking out for myself and my 4 year old. Screw Salsbury. I hope someone sues them. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. Once your manufacturer's warranty expires, you fall into lesser class of customer if you didn't buy your extended warranty directly through them. It's not just that I call to get a service appointment and leave countless messages with no answer, or that I have to go in person at times to make them, or that once I finally get to speak with someone I have to wait about a month or so bring my car for service, it's that the people you have to deal with are rude and unfriendly with lack of customer service sense. And it's lacking from the top down. I've never see anything like this. If you bought an extended warranty for your Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep through a third party, prepare to be without a car until Salsbury Dodge is able to collect their money from the extended warranty company, which they won't do until the next business day in most cases, or prepare to pay for the service in full and submit the claim yourself. It does not matter how early you bring your vehicle, it will be finished right at 5 pm and by then it's too late to submit the claim to the extended warranty and they tell you they call you the next day when they get their money so you can get your car, or, if you want your car the same day, pay up. Like I don't need my car! If I have to pay the bill in full having the extended warranty, it defeats the purpose of having the extended warranty in the first place! I will be taking my business elsewhere and I won't be buying a Dodge next time around either. This is my third Dodge vehicle, but I see a change in my future. Oh, they sure are friendly when they are trying to sell you the car though! read more

My rant... I bought a Dodge Dart from Salsbury Dodge used car lot on April 23,2016. I put $2500 down and have been paying my note since then. I have had issues with the dealership.. For example they still have not gotten my registration and title to me so I can pay my taxes and get a license plate. I have had 2 temporary tags and have been told they are waiting on paperwork from Georgia. To top it all off today they call me and tell me that they are gonna need the car back in 1-2 days due to the fact that it was not paid off in Georgia when they sold it. Are you kidding me. First of all it is the dealerships responsibility to make sure a car is paid off before they sell it. That shows very poor credibility on their part. Who just assumes a car is paid off and sales it. Second of all that debt owed on the car is the dealers responsibility to pay and get my clear title. I have held up my part now they must hold up theirs. This is the craziest situation I have ever heard of.. What kind of dealership sales a car that's not paid for. So the answer is no they can not have my car back. I signed a binding legal contract and I am holding up my end of the deal. They are going to have to eat the difference between the 25000 owed on it and the amount I agreed to buy it for. read more
