Salt & straw is a must-do when you're in the PNW. We have them in CA but it's not the same! I've been a fan for years since back when I lived in OR so I always make a stop when I'm back. I loved that this location had a large outdoor seating area and plenty of staff to balance the line. Even staff talking to you while you're in line! The flavors are always special, the july fruit flavors were fun to try. Great place as always and a great location

Ice cream date tradition with the kiddo. I got the Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip and Hazelnut Cookies and Cream and the Fifteen Year Old got the Salted, Malted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Chocolate Gooey Brownie #grateful for good food, good company, and good times

Visited Salt & Straw today and had such a great experience! I ended up getting the Pineapple Upside Down Cake flavor, and it was absolutely delicious perfectly balanced, rich, and so comforting. What really made the visit special was meeting Cat, the woman with the hair scarf. She was incredibly knowledgeable and gave such detailed, thoughtful explanations about every flavor. We were lucky enough to taste almost all of them, and she was so patient, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic the entire time. You could tell she truly loves what she does, and it made the experience even better. Amazing ice cream and even better service. Cat truly elevated our visit, can't wait to come back!

We love this location as there is ample parking and a covered outdoor space with a fireplace and a water feature to enjoy according to the season. We always swing by during cereal month and Thanksgiving month as those are some of our favorite specialty flavors but their traditional flavors are also outstanding year round. Their staff are kind and work hard to keep lines moving quickly without the customer feeling rushed.

Salt & Straw is one of my first Oregon loves. Back in the day, I remember waiting in line for way too long but it always being worth it because the service and ice cream is just that good. This location is one of my newest favorites because it's surrounded by so many good eats. We can have a meal and then grab a treat or vice versa. I also love that there is covered outdoor seating at this location with a fireplace. But the real reason for my current review is the launch of the Tacolate (aka a new and improved choco taco, which was my all time favorite ice cream dessert). Thank you Salt & Straw for taking a beloved classic and making it your own with the quality and thoughtfulness you are known for. It looks beautiful and tastes incredible. Much appreciated.

Stopped by with family on a fall Saturday morning. Best time to come since we were the only patrons. I've driven by during summer and the lines are long! If you are not in a hurry you can park by the covered parking near Kingpins. Parking around the building is not guaranteed. Lots going on in the area. Friendly staff, clean, and chill soul background music. We ordered the following: $6.95 - Honey Lavender Single scoop - Delicious! $6.95 - Sea Salt With Caramel Ribbons - Classic you can't go wrong with $6.95 - Albequina Olive Oil - amazing. You can't go wrong with Salt & Straw. Always delicious options and great seasonal variations.

It's that time of year again. It's time for the berries series that includes the Birthday Cakes and Blackberries (5 stars). This signature and seasonal July flavor is my favorite Salt & Straw flavor. I don't go to Salt & Straw as much as I used to, but I try to swing by in July to get this flavor. I don't usually like birthday cake. When the chunks of this colorful cake are folded in the creamy ice cream along with blackberry jam, it makes this an irresistible combination that I've had twice this month. I enjoyed the sweetness with varying textures in each bite. I ordered it as a split single scoop with Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons (5 stars). I became a fan of this year round flavor after I recently tried it at the Bridgeport Village location during a YEE. It had the good amount of delicious caramel. My husband tried a sample of the Banana Bread with Strawberry Jam, but he preferred a single scoop of his go to flavor, vegan Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip. My son loved his kids scoop of Double Fold Vanilla. They were fully staffed during each visit and ready to help if we wanted samples. The service was 4 stars. There are a few tables outside to enjoy the yummy ice cream.

I was able to try two flavors that I didn't in the past and was very happy with it. I got their seasonal flavor which was chocolate with potato chips. It was my first time having something that salty with chocolate and the combo went very well! I also got the lemon whey and that was super refreshing and delicious. It wasn't overly sweet as you can taste the lemon flavor and I wish I could buy a pint of that. Both flavors were really good and the servers were very nice and patient as this around, I sampled 5 flavors (hehe).

Portlandia interprets of classic icecream. Love how you can sample all the flavors before you have to pick, no wonder the old Baskin Robbins in Cedar is history. Be ready for not your standard kind of icecream but even traditionalist should find something to their liking. This new store isn't ideally with limited parking and all outside dining. What is the logic of no inside eating area when it rains 9 months of the year, oh yeah Portlandia thinking. Make it a point to come on Halloween to have creepy crawling ice cream with worms and crickets

After a Christmas and HH down the street, my wife decided she wanted S&S. Ok. Cool. I've never been there walked in. Great staff and options. Tried a couple flavors and made my selection...nothing crazy (which they have some interesting flavors), cinnamon snickerdoodle cookie dough -- I think. We paid, then sat outside in the sub-50 degree "heat." Thankfully they have a ln outdoor fireplace to site next to.

Came in to try and lord! Was it packed!!! The line moves fairly fast so it wasn't a huge deal. Now, I've never ever seen the flavors they had anywhere else. Examples: honey lavender, strawberry with coconut water sherbet, and pear with blue cheese. Interesting, right?! They had tons of other wild flavors. I got nervous and ordered the vanilla which was delicious and my wife got the strawberry coconut and that was super tasty as well!!! Next time, I'll actually try something out of the ordinary. Staff was nice, place was clean and was easy to get to. Just beware, it's literally in front of a water fountain park for children so the foot traffic in front was kinda crazy.

My group was excited it was by where we ate dinner. I went with salted caramel and was not disappointed. They offer unique mixes and flavors. They offer a powerful punch. Was not too busy. Has a water pad out front for summer. In a good spot for parking

If you like exotic flavors with that Hispanic flare, then this is the place. I was very happy to find out that my all-time favorite flavor Nuez (pecan) was one of those flavors. Very nutty and buttery as how I always expected this to be. A delightful treat to enjoy during these last hot days of summer but can still be enjoyable throughout the year. Eloté or corn is my 2nd best favorite along with Pistachio and Mint chip not too far behind. There are multiple friendly ladies behind the counter ready to help you and they have tons of other flavors. Just hard to pry myself off my current favorites. They also have other frozen treats as well as churros near the checkout counter. Parking is ample and it's easy to get in and out of the lot. You can even sit outside and enjoy your treat with a friend or family member. Overall I wished I had tried this much sooner but now that found a new place to enjoy a frozen treat, I will come more often.

The small (which is a "single scoop") was huge! Parking is plentiful, the store was clean and neat, the server a bit grumpy but maybe she just needed to take a break and get some ice cream. I was confused even just walking in. I was seeing an almost warehouse feeling space versus a cozy normal ice cream place where you can actually see any ice cream. Instead it's just a counter where very abrupt people in uniforms are asking you what you want. A bunch of other people are scooping ice cream from huge drums. Everything is setup like some insane Santa's workshop but it felt very cold - like get your sh*t and get out! I went in, desperately needing the restroom which was a lot to get to since it was through a crazy barrier, past a lingering family with a teenager determined to stand in every place I was trying to walk until her mom finally grabbed her and moved her for me. Then I turned the corner to discover an excessively long hallway, leading to 1 bathroom door at the very end of the very long, very very long hallway. I was so relieved to get back to take a photo of the ice cream flavor wall, really noting that though they've been here a long time, the space feels cold, uninviting and the people who work there don't help that. I really wanted to leave... I was annoyed discovering, I was at the wrong place, but honestly had that - even with you scooping in front of me, I feel like you're somehow spitting in it - it really felt that unfriendly up in there... but I imagine most people couldn't care less about me or my business. 3 people sort of 'helped' me and each was even less friendly than the last. I cannot imagine a reason to go back.
