Precision Stereo Repair

Precision Stereo Repair

I learned about Robert of Precision Stereo Repair out of NY from an article in Hemmings…read morehighlighting his repair service, and how he can install an inconspicuous input jack into your vintage radio. Intrigued, I called and spoke to Robert personally about repairing the original Delco 2700 series AM/FM cassette unit on my '82 Oldsmobile that had never worked since I've owned the car about 15 years. I wanted it back to full it's full functionality. After speaking with him on the phone I was confident he was the right person for the job. His knowledge and attention to detail was evident. Not only can he fix it but he can do one better. I had been putting this off for years because I didn't know who I could trust to do it right, and I wasn't about to send my original 44 year old stereo to just anyone. Choosing Robert was the right call. I opted for his additional services to improve sound quality and also add an aux input cable to be able to play any music from my iPhone as well. What I like is that it runs out of an existing hole in the back of the unit and no external modifications are made for a completely original look. I can tuck the cable under the dash and you would never know. Stereo retains full normal functionality when device is not connected. He also touched up the chrome outlines as I requested. Being able to hear clear music though my car's own speakers for the first time brought a big smile to my face and has greatly enhanced my driving pleasure. I also like to just sit in the car and listen. Thanks Robert.

No problems for me. Brought in my car to upgrade the stereo…read moreand get a remote start and camera installed. I had done some initial research and knew where I wanted to be price wise. I've also played around with installing things myself but I wanted the wires run in a way that it didn't look like I'd done it myself! I actually came in twice. First to talk options and get estimates and make an appointment. 2nd was to drop off the car. In-between, I did do some price checking. And everything was within the same range. Dropped the car off early since I knew it had to be there awhile. When I called later in the day to get an estimate for a pick-up time, it was about done. Someone walked me through the changes and new equipment. I was pretty comfortable without this but it was fine. I also had someone else in the parking lot with me. But the business should note that some individuals may not want to sit in their cars alone with a stranger. And, if you are picking up your car, bring a friend in this situation to sit with you for the tutorial!

After having a terrible experience on an installation with Best Buy, we were pleasantly surprised…read moreto find the Stereo Shop. We needed a radar detector hardwired in to switched power. They were able to fit us in quickly and do the job that Best Buy could not. They were professional and friendly. The work they did in the car was extremely neat, they did a nice job, and did so for a very reasonable price. In fact, they were even on the lower end of the price range they quoted us. They have made us a customer, as in any future vehicles we purchase, we will come here FIRST.

Back in the day, there were a good number of high end audio dealers that were knowledgeable and…read morecommitted to customer service. Now there are maybe a couple left as the interest in audiophile equipment is fading. I unqualifiedly recommend working with Lance at Forefront Audio. He is more knowledgeable and helpful than the competition. Don't be fooled by the small storefront. He handles a large array of equipment and will help you find the best solution to your audio needs. Its also worth noting that his familiarity with vintage audiophile systems (like mine) is second none.

I was new to audiophile quality gear when I started shopping at Forefront, Lance was patient,…read moreextremely knowledgeable, spent hours with me answering questions and helping me figure out what kind of equipment I would likely need for my listening space, without pushing the most expensive items within my budget, and in fact, on several occasions recommend that I did not invest in a piece of equipment that he believed was more expensive than needed at the time, or trying to get me to but what he thought was the "right" choice, instead, he just gave me my options and allowed me to make my own decisions, he has allowed me to audition and A/B test equipment in my own home, and has delivered and picked up speakers that were too large for me to transport myself, and all without any guarantee I would even make a purchase, and because if this meticulous level of costumer care, there is a really nice community of audiophiles that hang out at his shop, Lance made what could have been an overwhelming and intimidating experience really comfortable and enjoyable, I would not shop anywhere else for high end audio.

During our move from Chicago to Ithaca, electrical cord on our lamp broke. Joseph called a couple…read moreof places to see if the stores could repair the cord. Then he stumbled upon HiWay Hifi. Upon arriving, Lee met us at his store. Looking at the lamp electric cord, he said, "nothing is impossible". During our visit, Lee kept saying, "nothing is impossible". That alone made me feel confident in his skills. I saw a handwritten letter by one of his customers. She expressed her heartfelt thanks in helping her with her car repair. Based on our interaction, I could see why she felt confident. Lee repaired the electric cord for free. Just for that, HiWay Hifi deserved 5 stars. When in need of repairs, go to HiWay Hifi. As Lee said, nothing is impossible.

I first heard about Highway hi-fi from my friend to went to IC, he done business working in…read moretheater, and he friends worked there in the past so I thought it would be good to check it out because they do repairs to audiovisual equipment and I was having trouble finding repair for a lamp. It's like a 75-year-old lamp so I know I went there and they were very helpful. Repaired my lamp lickety-split and told me about their business. The owner Lee is very nice. You could see in their counter. They have like thank you cards from many years back. They have a very good standing with the community and they offer a greater rate of very professional customized services. He was telling me about the security systems, sound systems and stuff like that, I'm in the market to buy a house so that's one of the concerns. he has a lot of options and a lot of good equipment. I mean I've worked in the field too so I know I'm looking at. I'd definitely recommend checking them out. Their customer service is great. Just listening to the owner and pride he has in the business makes you secure looking into this type of investment. Definitely check them out.
