We went here for the first time to celebrate my son's birthday! The restaurant has a beautiful view of the Navesink River. Our server is Ryan who was not only attentive but very helpful with our dinner selections. We had a Burrata flatbread for the appetizer which was over the top good. My son and his wife had the Porterhouse stroganoff which they both enjoyed. My husband had the steak frites with bearnaise sauce with waffle fries. I had the monk fish special with a garlic sauce. Both were also delicious! For dessert they shared the chocolate soufflé which had to be ordered 20 minutes ahead which I would recommend either extra whip cream or vanilla ice cream with it perfect chocolate goodness! I have had Salt Creek Grille on my list to visit for a long time. I was visiting my friend at the Oceanic Marina which is around the corner. After a boat ride we decided to head to the Salt Creek Grilled for dinner before fireworks on the Navesink River. We called ahead and we were able to secure 2 tables for a large group. I was impressed that they accommodated a group of seven with short notice. The restaurant was busy and rightfully so, there is a section of the restaurant that has beautiful views of the Navesink River while you dine. The restaurant is decorated nicely. There is a large bar with a nice selection. The food is very good, prepared nicely. We started off with fried calamari and horseradish stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. Both appetizers were excellent. The wedge salad looked great as did their sushi. I chose the blacked tuna sandwich which was a generous portion on a brioche roll. Very fresh and great tasting. My wife went with a Grilled chicken sandwich which was solid. A request for the tuna sandwich without blackening was accommodated without issue. Service was very good, it was a hot day and our water glasses were refilled several times. There are steaks, chicken, and pasta dishes on the menu. They offer fresh fish specials prepared to your liking each day. On this visit they had a prime rib special which sounded great. I will not hesitate to go back. read more

We went on a Friday during June, thoroughly prepared to wait but we got a table right away. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a "power salad" - both were very good. The server was quick to take our order. Food came at a reasonable pace and the kitchen even split our entrees as we had told our server that we were sharing. The final plus - their butter cake. Came here recently for a professional event that I was hosting. Views are absolutely gorgeous. Interior may need a bit of a makeover, especially downstairs in the private banquet rooms.. really antiquated all the way around. Service was really quick, attentive, and professional. Shout out to Anthony and Michael! Ordered a fig martini which I couldn't finish because it was really strong... usually a great thing, but not when hosting for work LOL. Sushi rolls are delicious! Mussels were missing something in the seasoning department, so those would not be recommended. Tuna stack was also in need of some seasoning.. Top notch during our last visit as always on Saturday March 22nd. Carmen was our waitress and she was awesome - food excellent. Shared with friends the stuffed shrimp, spinach dip and sourdough loaf. Outstanding! Have not been to Salt Creek Grille in over 15 years since being in Dana Point. The Rumson location did not disappoint. Met family for a lovely evening with a very memorable dinner. Started off with a Manhattan as I heard they were delicious. Ended up grabbing a second one. After seeing a post about the coffee rubbed NY strip I couldn't turn it down! It lived up to all of its glory. Several family members got the prime rib special which was absolutely fantastic! My husband spared a small bite for me. We didn't get a chance to try the soufflé but it is one of those that you need to order when you order your meal as it takes at least 30 minutes to prepare. Next time! And just watch it - as there are plenty of low flying buzzwords to keep your attention (you know you want to, say "Asiago" three times fast.) Salt Creek Grill is way better than Applebee's but sadly just as formulaic and, please keep in mind that screaming at your spouse or co-worker over appetizers won't require the intervention of a lawyer or HR, it's just that loud. We were so happy to get a reservation last minute and then thrilled to be seated on the water here! Mark was our server, as he had been so many times. A great guy who does his job well. We have been here several times and I ordered my two regular items: the ahi tuna stack & the grilled Caesar salad with grilled chicken. My salad was great as usual, but the tuna stack had been changed. It used to be chopped tuna, chopped avocado, chopped cucumber with a spicy sauce in a cylindrical shape. The new version has all the same ingredients but is forced in soy sauce & doesn't all mix well because all the ingredients are in larger pieces. I was bummed as I always look forward to this. We usually dine in the Bradley Beach/Ocean Grove area. We were given a gftcard to Salt Creek Grill. We were expecting over the top entrees, but sadly found this location to be substandard. The physical location is very nice, but the food is nothing to write home about. We've had much better meals at SeaGrass in Ocean Grove! Not to mention their $13 drinks are laughable, at best. Overall, not worth it. Maybe our scumbag governor shitforbrains likes this place. I don't know. Seriously, not worth the money or travel time. Eat LOCAL. read more

Visited on Easter Sunday with a group of 5 family members. We normally go somewhere on the ocean but decided to give Salt Creek a try this year. Food and service were excellent. For the first time in a long while, we all had a great meal. Prime rib was THE BEST I've had in a while - cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful, and substantial size portion (au jus is served on the cut but I asked for a dipping cup of extra au jus which was no problem). Chilean sea bass, crab cakes and the pork chop were also excellent, as was the soup (Manhattan clam chowder), salad (House salad), and dessert (carrot cake). Our server Amanda was friendly and on top of her game, and took great care of us. The hostesses, bartenders, and valet staff were friendly, courteous and professional as well. Recently attended a wedding here. Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly valet attendant. Valet was complimentary. Walking in I felt a bit over dressed as the atmosphere was not dressed in fancy attire. After speaking to the hostess she guided me downstairs where the atmosphere changed completely. The downstairs room was nice. The bride and groom had a scenic ceremony outside. They were able to incorporate additional table for personal use such as a seating table, cake table, dedication table for those deceased along with a table for wedding messages. Not sure of the exact amount of guests, yet I would estimate almost 100 that fit comfortably. The dj had enough space for his equipment and a full dance floor. Dinner was buffet style so the line did get a bit long but the wait was not long. The Asiago chicken was great! Based on their site, the Dream Wedding Package includes tax & gratuity for $137 on Friday & Sunday. Kids half priced. You also have the option of an on site coordinator for $250. This includes the room for 5 hours, optional on site ceremony, champagne toast, valet parking and a complimentary gift card for the newly weds. Cocktail hour consisted of cheese, crackers, veggies, chips/guac and butlers passing out mini hors' d'oeurves. Compared to other restaurants the pricing is well worth what you're getting. This past Saturday evening I came here for the 2nd time. This is a consistently good restaurant. The environment is upscale and very comfortable. The service is top notch. Drinks are good pours, but you pay for that pour. Jonny Walker Black $16. ( not crazy expensive but above average) Our waitress was cheerful and professional. ( I cannot remember her name) The food was way above average. The porkchop was cooked perfectly The Halibut was delicious and a very generous portion. Stuffed chicken with risotto was also very good. ( I was concerned that the chicken would be over cooked and dry. It was not. Very moist and seasoned perfectly. The chocolate soufflé cake needed to be ordered 20 minutes in advance. Our waitress came and told us about this dessert like she was trying to sell us a used car. She was not doing this intentionally, but it was very funny. Had my birthday dinner at Salt Creek Grille, Rumson and it was great! My girlfriend and I chose a comfy booth in the main dining room; we wanted a quiet spot so we could catch up. Mark, our server, was polite and knowledgeable, reciting the specials that day w prices. I like that. We started with edamame and burrata flatbread. Crispy crust, creamy burrata, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, arugula and pesto. Excellent & probably all we needed with their very good Caesar Salad with lots of parm and housemade croutons. BUT, we forged on. Tuna & Avacado Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll. As good as it gets! Made right there in a special sushi prep area by pros. We couldn't fit dessert in. I had a party on December 10th and the room was the creek room for my husbands 50th. We had a party of 17 but since we rented the room had to pay for 20. The whole party ended up being around $1700.00 which seemed average for a restaurant in Red-bank/Rumson area that I was searching in. I wanted a upscale experience for my guests. The day I booked was raining heavy so I didn't get to enjoy the view that makes this restaurant special. Because I picked the evening option but there was very little lighting outside anyway. Anthony R. was great from beginning booking til the end. He's a real asset to this restaurant. He is very easy going and aims to please your requests. It was a pleasure with him. I personally had the chicken out of 3 options I picked from. It was a generous amount of food. Everyone truly loved there dinners and I received no complaints even from picky people. My 7 year old said that they have the best chicken tenders he ever had. In any event my party was a success here and went smoothly. I was able to set up a hour before which I thought wouldn't be enough time but It was enough. So after spending money and every single one in my party tipping valet My biggest complaint is valet. The man at the end of my night ruined it for many. My grandma 90 year old woman who is handicapped was waiting for her vehicle with my aunt she had issues entering the vehicle and the man shouted about his tip saying " don't you know we work on tips" in a very rude tone. She fully intended to tip him I guess it was just taking to long for her to get in and get her money. So it was extremely rude to treat customers that way and it's not mandatory to tip if you don't feel the need to and after you go to a nice restaurant you don't deserve to be treated that way. I sent a letter to management in hopes that will remove or speak to the person responsible as it was very unprofessional, rude and a unnecessary way to end the night my grandma telling everyone what happened to her at a party i hosted. I was considering having my sons baptism party here with 65 plus people but after that I think we will pass. read more

Highly recommend both. The jumbo shrimp was good but I felt like the bacon overpowered their flavor. If bacon is your jam, you will love them. Mashed potatoes were sweet for some reason and cold. Pork chop was tender, moist around the edges and near the bone, but a little too dry in the center. The mashed potatoes were tastier than they looked in the photo, and the string beans were good too.Desert menu was short, but the flourless chocolate cake was okay. My family and I came here for early drinks and dinner and had a great time. We arrived around 4:00pm for drinks when the bar opened before our 5:15pm dinner reservation and snagged a window table. We were enjoying the view and our server was awesome so we wound up just eating a full dinner here instead of moving over to the dining room. The service here was great - our server was personable, knowledgeable and even helped fix our wobbly table. The drinks here were also really good - between the four of us we had Old Fashioneds, Martinis, wine and Gin and Tonics. As far as food goes, everyone loved their meals. For apps we had the Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips, bacon wrapped Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp and the Caesar Over Mesquite. You could skip the Caesar but I would highly recommend the other two. For dinner three of us ordered the Coffee Encrusted New York Strip, one person ordered the Briased Short Rib Rigatoni and then we had a side of Roasted Brussels Sprouts. The Sprouts are nothing special but the rest of the meals were great! I especially loved the mashed potatoes that came with the Strip. If you are looking for a good steak, a solid restaurant in the area or a nice place to get drinks - I would highly recommend Salt Creek Grill. It is perfect for all occasions. read more
