Great service. The bartenders get after it! Bathrooms are about what you'd expect in a bar open late night. A little dirty, a little cramped.

Stoked to order my first on-draft NA IPA. Yum! We ordered the French dip and the steak sandwich. Both sandwiches came with fries, and both were fantastic. Neither was unbelievable or groundbreaking, but very solid renditions of each dish. I loved the pickles served with each dish. The fries were good but a tad salty. The service was good. Food came fast; the server checked in on us often. White Horse is located on a street with several other great restaurants, all highly rated on Yelp. While some are a bit more expensive, there is a lot of overlap between White Horse and some of these other great restaurants. It's a challenging block to make a choice! White Horse is a fun, intimate restaurant that is great for drinks, and I'd imagine they don't really have a bad dish on the menu. I would recommend it for a nicer spot to dine in downtown SLC.

I also really liked the atmosphere--stylish, lively, and comfortable--with a great selection of drinks. One thing to note: White Horse is a bar, so you must be 21 or older to enter. You're not likely to be disappointed by anything you order, but you're not likely to be blown away by anything, either (another thing Squatters has in common with McMenamins, I'd say). During our second visit (to another location, but I'm sure the same rule applies), our party was only interested in ordering drinks (one per person, mind you), but we were informed that we *had* to order some sort of food to accompany them (I'm sure this is more of a Utah thing, rather than a Squatter's thing, but still annoying), so bear that in mind if you're looking for a place to just chill with a beverage and watch a game. Still, the vibe here is lively and friendly; assuming your server is as well, which was a coin flip, in our experience. For a fast, casual chain of brewpubs, Squatters has a lot going for it, and I can see why they are popular, as clearly as I can see ways in which they can improve. Luckily there were no pine nuts or other substitutes and we could safely have it!
