My last visit was over 30 years ago and the return didn't disappoint. The ambiance is cool and has a British feel and our server was super nice. The wrangler burger was very good and the beers were so good and I love that they have stuck with traditional styles and haven't sold old to the IPA fad. My sister found this little Irish spot and I'm glad she did--it's a really cool place with tons of character. The walls are covered in old photos, which gives it that cozy, authentic pub feel. We started with the Brussels sprouts, and those were a win. I love Brussels sprouts when they've got a little sweetness to them, and these hit the spot with a nice flavorful sauce. For my main dish, I ordered the cottage pie (similar to shepherd's pie), and it was honestly really, really good. The flavors were on point, and the mashed potatoes on top were super comforting and well done. Definitely something I'd order again. The only downside was the service--it was just okay. Nothing terrible, but it definitely could've been better and more attentive. Overall, it's a solid spot with great food and a fun atmosphere. What happened to Coops' menu?? I'm sorry, I love this place- the scene, ambiance, coziness, old town building, service... but how on Earth did they drop the best and most special menu items that I came to love over like a decade?? No sourdough bread bowl for the best artichoke dip (it's not all runny, watery, spinachy like other places. No dip on the Pub burger. And something else I'm forgetting that changed lol... I do believe they still have their amazing cherry bread pudding thing. (Best!) And green chili beer and house made root beer and side salad with sprouts and seeds and fun things??... and please Lord let there be What-a-Melon beer with melon slices in Summer... I still love them but dang. Removing a few of the longtime best menu items is hard to handle lol. Much love and I do support them still. read more

First time back at Coopersmith's since the 90's. Lunch on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. Always nice to see the beer tanks inside reminding you that this is one of the original micro breweries. See pic of the their story. Had a pint of Poudre Pale Ale. Excellent beer. Food was better than I expected. I had a Rueben with fries. Strong choice. Others had the pub burger and turkey wrap. We loved this place. I haven't been since I was in college but the staff was friendly and the dining area was a classic pub style feel that we really enjoyed. Our meals came out fast and were delicious. There was a mistake with our daughter's order but they fixed it before it was brought to the table and even brought some extra fries to start with while we waited. We have always a great experience at CooperSmiths. However tonight was terrible - the hamburgers were like hockey pucks and the service was terrible. It took over 1-1/2 hours to get our food. I went in to grab a pint and a growler or cans to go for a camping trip. The beer tender said they are out of growler's, and the cooler is empty. Hadn't been to Coopersmith's in almost 30 years! It was always one of our favorite restaurant breweries in Ft. Collins when we lived in the Front Range. So, going through Ft. Collins yesterday, we decided to check it out for old times sake. And, WOW, still looks the same inside, very clean, casual and comfortable. Service was still TERRIFIC, too! And the food & beer, ALL fantastic! Sure, the menu has changed from a quarter century ago, but the kitchen and bar still know how to serve up great grub and beverages. Our schedule didn't give us enough time to really kick back and take it all in, but everything we ordered teased us enough to make sure we'll be back as soon as possible! read more

Went to CooperSmith's after a walk in Old Town and our experience was great! The brussel sprouts were amazing, perfect crisp and bacon! The pretzel was good, but nothing crazy. My boyfriend had the wings which he said were very spicy, but good! Definitely will be returning for happy hour appetizers during the week sometime! read more

Thought we owed an old and dear favorite another chance under new management. The beer is still great but you may want to order two as our's were short pours, and though we sat at the bar along with three other folks, took a long time to show up from the time we sat down. And no, the place wasn't particularly busy, either inside or on the patio. We ordered burgers and fries, one medium rare and one medium. The medium one arrived well done (turning grey) while the medium rare one was perfect. The food on one plate was hot, the other warm-ish. No one ever checked on us so we just ate and left. Always good food. I had the tomato mushroom bisque. Tasty, however I prefer fresh over canned mushrooms and it needs cream. Edit. I brought half of it home and added a equal portion of almond milk. So very good. That's what a bisque should be. Hubby loves their dry spiced wings. The sweet potato waffle fries are nice and crispy and the siracha aioli is killer. We will come back. Very meh I'm not a beer drinker so perhaps I shouldn't expect an Irish pub to have mint & coconut at the bar to make coconut mojito, but having a drink might have allowed me to tolerate our waiter better. We were a party of 11 and he completely forgot to place the order for my husband's meal. Which means my husband was sitting watching us eat and then when his meal finally arrived, we're all sitting watching him eat. Four teenage girls were in our group and they all ordered cherry limeaids. You know what a drink from a soda fountain tastes like when there's not enough syrup and it's just carbonated water. That was the cherry limeades. Someone was nice enough to comp those for us. However, to have a 20% gratuity, put on automatically and have this kind of service is a sad commentary. Bear in mind, there were three couples and five individuals. When the checks came, there were 11 individual tickets versus combining the couples tickets together. Went there on 12/11/24 for lunch. Sat invite bar area. Haven't been here in a very long time. Server/bartender was very friendly. Refills were lacking though. Food was good. 4 of 6 patrons ordered corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day, 2026. Worse meal ever. Corned beef was not cooked and was so tough one could not cut it with a very sharp personal knife. Supervisor or manager would not come to our table to discuss the poor quality of the meat. Waitress said after our complaining management removed the corned beef and cabbage from their dinner special. Horrible meal and service, no one in our group will ever return to such a poorly run business. read more

After being a patron for over 20+ years, I won't be going back, I'm disappointed to say. My favorite item has always been the artichoke dip in the bread bowl. Now it's in a shallow dish with tortillas and overpriced. Ugh, my fish and chips, another staple I ordered, has some thick heavy, break your teeth, breading on it now. The actual fish was maybe a third of the breading. Didn't it used to be more of a light crunchy tempura style batter? My son ordered sautéed veggies and they tasted like fish, so those didn't get eaten either. Bummer, guys, need to find a new, go to place:( read more

Great little pub and restaurant. I had the popper burger which was outstanding! A nice thick angus burger covered in jalapeno cream cheese and bacon on a nice soft bun. One of the best popper burgers I've had. I chose the sweet potato waffle fries out of the dozen or more sides that I could choose from. Crunchy on the outside and soft inside, they were perfect! I washed it all down with a Sigda's Green Chili ale. Absolutely great taste, not very much of a bite, but great chili flavor! I will definitely be back the next time in Fort Collins! read more

While I'm extremely sad that the poolside is gone, I'm so happy they opted to move the dry-rubbed wings over to pubside! We went out for a patio lunch and split the wings and the fish and chips. The dry rub is full of some mysterious wonderful seasoning with a delicate hint of sugar at the end, and the carrots and celery are always crisp and fresh. The fish was well battered and cooked through, perfectly flaky and served with a delicious tartar sauce. I grabbed a happy hour glass of wine and my husband went for their Punjabi which is always clean and has a nice kick of malt and hops, and service was a little slow, but we weren't in a rush. Glad we chose this place for dinner tonight. The service was great super friendly quick and efficient. The food was very good a great variety of different bar foods. Pretzel was on point but I didn't get that it was green chili sauce side just tasted like a regular cheese sauce. I'm always very picky about chicken salad and this one was one of the best I've had big chunks of fresh chicken not too much mayo and perfectly paired with the nine grain bread. The Ruben was overflowing with meat and the bread was amazing thick cut homemade marble rye. I was told the truffle burger was delicious as well and the chicken sandwich, and we loved the sweet potato waffle fries. We've been here before and its been OK. But we came in tonight (Wednesday) for the live music because it's an artist we like - the service was HORRIBLE. We waited a good 20 min after being seated before somebody wandered over to take our drink order. While waiting for drinks people came in who were obviously known to the management - these people sat at the table right next to us. They were warmly greeted and served immediately, while we still waited for drinks. A server checked in with the other table regularly, while we waited for the bartender to finally come over and take our food order. We did get our food which was pretty good bar food. I got the thunderbird. It was spicier than I was expecting but absolutely delicious. Toasted sourdough tore up the roof of my mouth but it was absolutely worth every painfully delicious bite. I had the buffalo burger and sweet potato fries with fry sauce; the burger was juicy and cooked well. My daughter had a French onion burger and a side of tomato mushroom bisque which she loved. My husband and I just did a simple take-out order since we were just hanging out in old town, but it was fantastic! We ordered the Black & Bleu and fries. The wait wasn't too long and the food came out hot and perfect. The burger was bursting with incredible flavors that complimented each other so well and the french fries were perfectly crisp! So 5 stars simply for an amazing burger! Will have to come back soon to try other delicious items and sit down in the restaurant. read more

What a frustrating experience. We were told it would be a 20-minute wait and stood directly in front of the hostess the entire time. She seemed completely scattered and disorganized - like she had no system for tracking who was waiting. We watched in disbelief as people who walked in after us kept getting seated while we remained invisible to her, despite being right there in front of her station. When we finally questioned what was happening, the junior manager was a complete jerk about it instead of apologizing for his hostess's obvious confusion. After 30+ minutes of this nonsense with plenty of empty tables around, we left. The lack of basic organization and professionalism here is astounding. This was one of my favorite restaurants where I would frequently come. I have to say this is the last time I come here. read more

We were seated immediately, our server Lauren came to take our order and we received our food in a timely manner on a day when we had a time crunch to eat lunch and get to an appt. at CSU so for this reason (along with the tasty food) it's 5 stars... before we're ordered I checked with Lauren to see if ordering and eating with the amount of time we had would work and she made it work! Lauren even brought out the check without me asking stating she knew we had time commitments so that was truly appreciated. We ate outside on the patio on a lovely day. It really is a cute downtown and being outside was super chill and relaxing. On another day we would have spent more time enjoying the ambiance. My two issues with my The Black & Bleu Burger was it stated camelized onions and they were served raw- I truly don't like raw onions so those we left on my plate...and the burger seemed a bit too salty for me but I'm pretty sensitive to the amount of salt on food... the flavor was nice and the fries were super tasty. My daughter said her Tomatillo Chorizo Mac & Cheese was tasty and even had enough to take with her and have as leftovers for dinner. read more
