Raspberry Hibiscus (with a half shot of 1800 cucumber jalapeño)
Ariel S.

My friend and I came to Salt to catch up over a drink. We sat at the bar where we received great menu recommendation and had attentive service. The bartender was patient and kind when we couldn't decide between two cocktails on the menu. Instead of just suggesting one over the other due to popularity, she asked what we liked about each cocktail and made a custom drink. This was both thoughtful and personal, which really elevated the experience. We were mostly there for drinks, but decided to share the ceviche -- it was a perfect portion with great flavor. Overall great service and fun atmosphere.

Chicken and vampire tacos

Great service. Our server was helpful in selecting the best specialty tacos to choose from and since it was Taco Tuesday the prices were great! All $4.50 or $3.50 each. Great food. We ordered the Vampire, chicken, shrimp, and the carne asada. Three out of four were delicious...like so, so, good! Our favorite was the vampire! I'd order them all again except for the carne asada (overcooked/dry). The elote dip made up for it though. It was really good and a great portion. You can add some to your tacos ;-) Great restaurant vibe. Good music. Great seating options. The decor is pretty cool too!

Lobster Tacos

Came for dinner at 6pm on a Wednesday night. I was seated right away but ended up leaving my table to sit at the bar instead. My sister and I shared the carne asada fries and these were so delicious. I would come back just for this appetizer alone. She got the lobster tacos and I got the blackened fish tacos. The lobster one was pretty good but my fish tacos really lacked flavor. We asked for hot sauce and that helped. Seriously though, get the carne asada fries. They're tasty!

The one napkin I got for guacamole, queso, mini chimis, and tacos. Maybe they'll have real napkins next time?

Whew! Highs and lows. On the plus side: Fun decor Great happy hour menu Carnitas tacos were so good! Great salsa! Lows: We got a lot of finger foods and messy stuff like tacos but only got 1 cocktail napkin each. The table next to us got a huge tower of nachos and a tower of cocktail napkins. Does this restaurant only have cocktail napkins?? We'd have asked our server but... Our server was so nice and then just never around. We had to ask the person who brought out food for plates. Then for silverware as we hadn't realized there wasn't any. Then for water as people had bone dry glasses and no one came with water. We'd want to order things and just never get checked on. It wasn't busy. Don't worry, we still tipped 20% because we're not jerks and maybe there was a legit reason. Mini chimis were way too cheesy/creamy/mushy. Oh well! So for all that, I'd absolutely go back and enjoy Margaritas, chips and salsa, and those carnitas tacos! I'd try some new things! But I may bring some napkins, just in case!

Update to my previous review! We have tried this place a few more times. I am happy to report that the food has gotten much, much better. We have also enjoyed friendly service. I love Arizona Restaurant Week. The menu was fairly priced and the entrees were delicious. There was a course delivery/timing issue that was a bummer, but the manager came by and addressed the problem, which was greatly appreciated. I am glad that we gave this place another try, it is definitely in the date night rotation now.

We came tonight for a date at the recommendation of some friends and family - glad we did! The inside is absolutely gorgeous - very well decorated and super clean w an elaborate bar. We were seated right away, just on a Sunday night but not packed. We ordered several drinks (I love spicy margaritas and they had many of them!), the guacamole flight, the vampire tacos, and the al pastor tacos. Loved: the cucumber and pineapple spicy margaritas, the pineapple salsa, the Blue Hawaiian drink, and the vampire tacos! Fantastic!! Liked: the chicharron guac, pomegranate guac, the al pastor tacos, and the margarita flight. Didn't love: the chips and we were disappointed they were out of fish for the blackened fish tacos. Will definitely be back - a great spot for fantastic cocktails and delicious tacos! 4.5 stars

We have been to this spot before on prior travels to the area, but that was a late night visit pre-kids. It's a very fun night vibe for drinks and tacos. However, this time we are visiting we have a toddler. We loved the tacos and wanted to go here, but were pretty nervous based on the lively atmosphere we experienced before. So instead, we found ourselves looking for dinner early on a Monday night and decided to give it a shot. So glad we did! The day time and early evening vibe, especially for a weekday, was so much more chill and palatable for a family with kids/toddlers. We were seated immediately. Hostess had to deal with my husband and I being indecisive from a long day and did so well seating us when we couldn't decide. Happy hour here is a good deal, we got 4 tacos each and I also got a house margaritas which was perfection. My husband ended up ordering another set of 2 tacos to finish his meal. We like the chicken tinga and the potato ones best. My toddler had a side of rice and beans and devoured most of it, which is rare. The food runner/busser was super kind to my baby and welcoming. The experience was better than I could have imagined it going and the food was as great as we remembered.. Highly recommend.

There is no cheese on the bottom of chips. This was a TO GO order . EVERYTHING ALWAYS BEEN SEPARATED.. NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT THAT

So love the food, but disappoint about how much cheese they didn't put on it. For 27$ for nacho i should get a whole jar of it. I got food to go and this was the only i was very disappointed about

Tequila is a favorite for a girls party and a place with that name, of course we would pick that. We had our annual girls holiday party and rounded on this place. Located in the San tan mall it's hard to miss. The ambiance & decor is modern & Mexican. The service is quick and we were attended immediately! We went with pitchers of margarita, the mango and the prickle pear was our favorite. The food was delicious we went with macho nacho, wings, guacamole, corn dip and tacos. Everything was great but felt there were too many nachos in everything. Overall we had a great time and look forward to visiting again!

Joined a friend for brunch, it was my first time here, and had a great experience! Large establishment located in the back of the mall, with vibrant decor, and calavera signage, its hard to miss! Upon entry, you will first notice just how large the restaurant is! Lots of open space with a full bar, fun & vibrant decor & friendly staff! We were immediately greeted by the friendly hostess & taken to our table right away. The menu has an excellent selection of specialty drinks & even serve them by the pitcher! Say less!! We decided on a pitcher of the strawberry pepper margarita and it was top notch! I tend to be a little picky about my margaritas, and this truly was one of the best I've ever had! Spicy & refreshing, this margarita hit the spot! It is made with fresh strawberries, strawberry purée & red chilè peppers. To top it all off, the glass is also coated in a Tajín & chamoy rim. For food, we actually just went with chips & salsa and nothing else! The salsa was a good in flavor, but I would've preferred it to be more chunky. Our experience was great from start to finish and also love that they have a dj. This is a great spot for groups, friends and having a great time. We'll be back!

Great reversed HH! Our server was very attentive and friendly. Some of us got the $20 Almost Bottomless Margaritas with food purchase. Good deal! The Carne Asada nacho was massive! It fed the whole table! The Guac Trio was great! First time trying pomegranate with guac. It was yum! We also got wings and tacos and Tuna Aquachille.

Use to visit the Chandler location weekly 12-14 years ago.. even told our kiddos that tonight when we brought them here. Problems started as soon as we got our food. All the food came out besides our son's children's steak, was told they had to cook another one. As we were waiting for his steak, my husband noticed his steak wasn't a ribeye like he ordered. He suspected it was a NY Strip Steak. About 7 minutes goes by and manger brings our sons steak. My husband asked the manager if his steak looked like a NY strip to him and manager replied "yes, I think we have the best NY Strip" and my husband nicely replied, I didn't order a Strip, I ordered a Ribeye and told the manager it was fine, he would eat it still and still tasted good but didn't want to be changed for a Ribeye since he got the strip wrong. ($12 difference) I got the firebirds bacon chicken pasta with steak instead of chicken and no tomatoes and green onions. Well.. there was def tomatoes and onions and no bacon. And I was changed $30 for pasta and steak.. that wasn't even made the way I asked. Well my son's (late) steak was suppose to be medium and it was rare. By the time the server came back my son was eating some of my husbands steak and my pasta so we just asked the server to take his meal off the check because it was late and cooked wrong. She said it was absolutely cooked wrong and insisted to bring him a new steak as well as take it off the check. She even asked him to put his steak on a plate and "she'd throw it away and they'll make him a new children steak." Well manager comes back and tell my husband that his steak was in fact a ribeye (it was def not a ribeye.. no marbling whatsoever) and dropped off our sons steak.... It literally was the pieces we had cut up that they just threw back on the grill. Even pieces our son chewed and spit out when it was rare and too chewy for him. Like GROSS!!! They did take the children's steak off the check and gave us a free dessert( which we didn't even want, we would have rather paid the correct amount for my husbands steak...) The waitress was fine, none of this was her fault because she read us back what we ordered and had it all correct.. but she fell short as to getting us refills (never even offered a 2nd round of wine or beer) and when it was time for the check we gave 2 gift cards $50 each and our card to pay. She brought back our copy to sign and she only took off 1 $50 gift card. We had to call her over and she realized she didn't use both giftcards and had to void our card and redo it. The managers were busy the whole night talking to upset tables. This location really needs to get their stuff together. Again, nice to offer dessert but truly all we wanted was to get what we paid for and how we asked for it and tonight wasn't it. Literally felt like we were scammed outta $160. we will be taking our $$ elsewhere.

Disappointing Anniversary Dinner - Expected More for the Price…read more My wife and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here after getting recommendations from friends who spoke highly of the place. Since we're in the Gilbert area, we loved the idea of a great steakhouse without the drive to Scottsdale. We went in with high expectations -- we're no strangers to special occasion dining, so we knew what we were hoping for. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in almost every way. The ambience and service felt more like a polished chain restaurant than the upscale dining experience the prices suggest. For a $300-$400 dinner for two, you expect a certain level of attentiveness and flow -- and we just didn't get it. After our appetizers, we noticed we never received the pretzel bread everyone raves about. When I asked our waiter, he said they had just finished baking a fresh batch. When it arrived, it was cold -- so that clearly wasn't the case. We also had to flag our waiter down to take our entrée order, which shouldn't happen at this price point. My steak was fine -- just fine. My wife's fish was the same. Nothing memorable, nothing that made us feel like the bill was justified. By the end of the meal we were both ready to leave. Our waiter did offer a complimentary dessert for our anniversary, which was a nice gesture, but we were already checked out mentally and chose to go somewhere else to finish the evening on a better note. If you're in the East Valley looking for a truly special dinner, I'd honestly just make the drive to Mastro's Oceans Club or Steak 44.
