Fries are crispy and salty, the shrimp comes with a sweet dipping sauce. But it's like $12 for 5 shrimp, hard sell. Mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers are solid. Avoid the clam strips, too chewy for teeth. Their marinara sauce is watery and bland. Their poke bowls are disgusting. I usually love fried food on the beach but I just wanted something healthy. I got a salmon bowl with shredded carrot, cucumber, edamame, avocado, fried onions, and wasabi aioli. I've never been more concerned about getting food poisoning in my life. Don't get raw fish served by teenagers who don't care, that's my advice to you. I am fine, but when I sat down and the fish was warm, not room temperature, warm and mushy, I was really worried. Yeah it's on warm rice and it's a 5 minute walk back to the beach but I don't know if they're storing this stuff properly. Also the quality was just poor. For a whopping $17 bucks the whole thing tasted like...nothing. The "aioli" had zero fat content and zero spice, it was thin and watery. None of the toppings really came together, the cucumber chunks were huge. It was all just weird and bad. Their dark and stormy's are good, and they don't mess up beer. Salt Shack amazes me Cedar beach and this beach hut are top notch as far as beach huts go; Beers, margs, poke, finger foods, live music: not much else you could ask for. However, you must show ID just to get food after a certain time which makes it hard for the kids/teens to run up and grab snacks. The people at food concession stand are not that freindly towards us as much as they are with others i felt. But the bar staff are super freindly and good vibes! The bar has several slushie machine. They have live band starting at 8pm some nights. The restaurants currently open at 4pm. There are also many volleyball tents on beach can play on. Free admission but there was a two divorce minimum. I'm 56 and felt like a young man, hence me giving the two stars. Had a mixed $12.00 drink Tanqueray and tonic. Either it was watered down or the tonic was grossly flat. I don't mind paying that for a drink but make it a drink and stop taking advantage of patrons. The remodel for this year makes my "happy place" list!!! Put a Palm tree in front of me n my toes in the sand (or walk a mile down to the water) :) good music, great food and lots of fun. For all kinds of kids. Yup it's for the young n old! I walked in to see Açaí bowls - immediate happiness. Lotsss of other options from a HUGE Bavarian pretzel to a complete dinner on the menu. Two full bars and also a separate beer bar. I went straight for açaí. They also have a great selection of Asian inspired dishes. There were so many great bands there over the summer I can't wait to go back! There's a kids park right near where the bands play so you can bring a cooler and relax while the kids play. Like be music every night making this Long Island venue taking you to a Caribbean feel beach party with numerous bars and lots of entertainment. Wide open outdoor patio and if you want shade, you can hang out in the open wall bar area. The beach is just feet away as are the endless amounts of volleyball courts. I cannot tell you how their food was as I did not try any as we were just their for cocktails and beer and that right there I can tell you they were o. Their gam not skipping a beat. I always go at night on the nights when there is live bands. Food is decent. Night time environment feels almost like at a concert, fun and energetic. Bands are great. Only downfall are the night bartenders. They definitely need some training in mixology. The drinks are horrible, but then most people are too drunk to notice. Either light on alcohol or just completely mixed with incorrect components and techniques. Oh yea..and drinks are totally over priced, but I guess you get to enjoy a live band for free. I will never go back here again. It was ridiculous to just get in. Cars were cutting other cars without traffic control. Waited an hour to get to the beach. $40 for parking. When we got to the beach, we left our belongings by the beach and decided to get some food. There were two bouncers who were ID'ing people but did not ID everyone. They wouldn't let all of us in because some of us left our IDs by the beach which I understand. But one of the bouncers said that if I said I was my friends' mom he would let us in which didn't make sense. They were letting kids in without problem not ID'ing the parents or other people. I guess they pick and choose who to let in. That really turned me off. Not worth driving to this place! read more

IF I COULD LEAVE A 0 STAR REVIEW I WOULD. NEVER EVER go to Salt Shack in Babylon, NY. My friends and I were going there for our friend's birthday and we were originally told that we couldn't go in because all members of our party were not 21 (even though some us were). They then changed it to say we needed a guardian that is our mom or dad (WTF). Then one security guard said that if we found someone to pretend to be our parent they would let us in. After letting us in we were then questioned and harassed MULTIPLE times. All we wanted to do was eat and celebrate our friends birthday (with no alcohol). We drove an hour away to come here and no where online or in person does it say only people over 21/ accompanied by a parent (not even a person of legal guardian age) are welcome. IMPORTANT: the two security guards in the front of the line (the two that later harassed as we were eating) LET us in and moved to allow us to enter. After ordering our food and sitting down on benches FAR AWAY from the bar we were further question by security personnel. We explained to him what the security who let us in originally had told us and he asked us which one. 10 minutes later all members of security were staring at us talking amongst each other before they all came over and started yelling at us, threatening us, and calling us liars. We were then escorted out of the restaurant and we were forced to eat outside the restaurant fence, which is not even 25 ft away from where we were sitting before. This experience was unacceptable and Salt Shack needs to state their expectations instead of harassing young adults for not being with a parent. When they came over to us it was evident that there was no alcohol on the table. So even though there are kids running around, family gatherings, and we are all legal adults over 18 we aren't allowed to sit in the vicinity. DO BETTER. Salt Shack DOES NOT DESERVE to be in business if this is how they treat their paying customers (who they let into their restaurant). read more

Not a good experience. Getting inside was a nightmare. People kept cutting the line and there was no traffic control. Waited an hour to get in. The staff here were not friendly. Yesterday, I went with a group of my friends and my service dog to attend a concert at the Salt Shack, as I have done before. There were two men in uniform at the entrance who denied me access saying it's a liability. I called the 24/7 ADA helpline try to explain to them that it was illegal to discriminate and not allow me in due to my disability. One man asked me what service he provides and I explained. Even so, the men threatened me with a summons if I entered and said I would have to take it to court. They claimed a local attorney told them they could ignore federal rule within the town of Babylon and I could not go in without a Babylon dog license despite it being a public venue. Please address this and explain that what they are doing is illegal. read more
