Wife and I wanted to go down the peninsula to Lookout Point, but needed to find somewhere for lunch first. Saw a few seafood places along Wynne Rd in Ridge, so went to check them out. The first one we came too was SALT and it looked pretty good, so we just went with it. The food was very good. My wife had the crab cake sandwich and I had the blackened mahi tacos. The homemade chips were excellent. There were a couple times the service was a little slow, but it seemed that they might have been a little short of staff. I know the crab cake sandwich said "market price" in the menu, but $34 still felt like a lot. But outside of the prices, it was definitely the type of place we'd come back to... but maybe only for a special occasion, not just a lazy Sunday afternoon.

I was so disappointed in the food and service. I was so looking forward to trying this place. It took at least 45 minutes to get the appetizers and another 40 minutes to get the entrees. The wings and hush puppies were the best items we ordered. Salmon was over cooked; ordered a Greek salad, but it was a tasteless pasta salad. But the water view was great!!!!

Crab Cake dinner with truffle potatoes and Brussels sprouts

My husband and I had the most wonderful meal at Salt Waterfront in Ridge, MD. From start to finish, everything was incredible. We started with the hush puppies with honey butter which were warm, fluffy, and absolutely addictive. I paired them with a French spritz with pomegranate juice, one of the best cocktails I have had all summer. It was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, we tried the catch of the day, snapper, which was grilled to perfection with a garlic basil butter. It came with coleslaw and fries, and I have to say the fries were some of the best I have ever had. They were crispy, well seasoned, and impossible to stop eating. I also ordered the crab cake dinner, and it was a standout. The crab cakes were packed with delicious lump crab, beautifully seasoned, and easily among the best I have had in years. The truffle potatoes were rich and decadent, and the Brussels sprouts were cooked just right, crisp on the outside with the perfect touch of sweetness. The setting felt like something out of a movie. Picnic tables with string lights overlooked the water and gave us the most beautiful sunset views. The playlist added such a fun and relaxed vibe and tied the whole evening together. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and hospitality, Salt Waterfront is truly a gem.

This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. I moved from a big city and I've had a hard time finding options in SOMD that I feel are more upscale with a casual feel and this definitely fits the bill. We went on a beautiful spring day and the sunset views were fantastic, the place is well kept and definitely new. What a vibe for summer time - looking forward to coming out in summer and hanging out in their big outdoor space. Service was good - got everything we needed and food came out quickly. Food and drinks - drink menu is full of MD staples and isn't upscale by any means but we really enjoyed the crushes and margaritas. The food was excellent with a great option for more expensive plates and lower cost options. I do think they have an opportunity to improve their entrees to include more options for vegetarians, they gladly modified my entree to leave the sausage off the pasta but I think any modern menu should have ONE vegetarian/vegan option that doesn't require modification. Will absolutely be back.

Was visiting from out of town. My family an I tried this new restaurant in the marina. The ambiance was lovely, you couldn't ask for a better scenery for where we were. The appetizers and orange crush drink were the best, the entrees were okay. We had the trio dip, I suggest you have with the warm pitas, not the tortilla chips. The raw and fried oysters were terrific and I loved the orange crush. The service was okay. If I find myself there again, I will just have appetizers and drinks.

What a hidden gem! We were driving down to Point Lookout Lighthouse in Scotland, MD and decided to take a break. This restaurant is right on the water has inside and outside eating plus picnic tables and a bar right on the water. We just stopped for a drink, but the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. Our server was super friendly. We will definitely recommend to others

All three of us ordered Entrees in which my son had Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and a veggie. My granddaughter had Steamed Shrimp with French Fries and I had their Fried Shrimp with French Fries and Cole Slaw. We were all amazed at the presentation of the food as well as the quality and taste. It is evident they have expert Chefs and Sous Chefs. When you walk into the entrance, you immediately see beautiful waterfront scenery. This particular day, there were hundreds of geese feeding right in front of our table. The dining area is very large and you're not sitting on top of each other. Dry large windows to see the water throughout the Restaurant. Our waitress was very accommodating from the drink order to our dinner choices. She came back several times to see if was anything we needed and for dessert. We had to pass on the dessert as we were full to the brim from our entrees. We have already decided we are going to have our family events at the Ruddy Duck as they are designed for large parties and the Food, Service and Ambiance was over the top. It's way beyond a 5 Star Restaurant!

My party was seated, ordered drinks and appetizers, and only when we started ordering entrées did our server, Faith, suddenly inform us there were no crab cakes due to a "crab shortage." At a seafood restaurant, that's something you tell customers immediately, not after they've already spent money. The story didn't add up. The day before, we had crab cakes at SALT Waterfront Kitchen with no issue. After leaving Ruddy Duck, we went straight back to SALT, ordered crab cakes again, and were told point‑blank that there was no shortage. So the excuse we were given at Ruddy Duck was misleading at best. The whole experience felt deceptive and disrespectful. We won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values honesty or basic customer service.

Stopped in on a Tuesday night; it's our first visit. The place was relatively quiet and there were…read morenot many visitors. It's a very clean establishment and the staff that greeted us were professional and very friendly. We perused the menu and decided on Thai chili mussels and cheesesteak egg rolls for apps, water and a fig martini for our drinks. The egg rolls came with marinara dipping sauce which was different. Both appetizers were good but lacked in flavor. They were both missing an umami flavor that would have elevated them. The eggs rolls specifically could have benefited from more cheese, a better quality of steak (the menu described it as having rib eye but it was very chewy..I know good ribeye has a nice fat cap but this wasn't that), and salt. The mussels had the spice from the red curry paste but again was missing salt. Sea salt or even soy sauce being added would have elevated that dish. It could have also benefited from some fresh garlic and a fresh herb like Thai basil. To note my martini was very sweet. It was comprised of fig vodka which intrigued me but it just wasn't for me. Our mains were the double crab cake dinner and I ordered a Caesar salad with cajun salmon. My salad was executed okay but with one exception: the dressing. I don't know what it was but it was definitely not a classic Caesar dressing. If you love a good Caesar salad you know the dressing is a crucial element to that salad and as much as I was looking forward to this dish, it failed. The salmon was cooked perfectly, there were shards of parm and not shreds which was a welcome addition and the romaine lettuce fell a bit short as well as it wasn't crisp. Overall I finished the salmon but not all of the remainder of the salad. It was just ok but the salmon definitely saved it. My husband had the crab cake dinner and he enjoyed it very much. There was not much filler in them and they were made with lump crab meat..I venture to say maybe even jumbo lump. I tasted them; they were seasoned very well. The dinner came with fingerling potatoes and coleslaw. I didn't get to taste the potatoes because my husband devoured those..so I guess they were good. I had a bit of the coleslaw and it was dressed well and flavorful; the celery seed in it was pronounced and it wasn't overly dressed in sauce which was good; the cabbage and other vegetables were able to retain a nice crunch. All in all we agreed although some things about our meal could be improved, we would certainly come back. There was a nice vibe in there, that allowed for a great laid back early week date night.

They roast their own coffee! Wow! Yum!…read more On a weekend morning (Jun 2026), we were in the vicinity of Solomons MD, and friends said that Bugeye Grill roasts their own coffee. That got our attention! We stopped in at this bright clean restaurant on a late weekend morning, (weekdays they open at 5pm). The French-press coffee was a tasty fragrant medium Brazilian blend. The flavor was well balanced, and it was a good smooth non-acidic coffee We found it to be a creamier fragrant brew, not a darker roasty flavor. It had a lightly malty sweetness and nuttiness, characteristic of its blend of Brazilian arabica, robusta, and hybrid beans. They have different blends from time to time. They really are a full-menu restaurant terrific views of Back Creek, and a midscale-classy vibe. They focus on seafood and steaks and lobster! We saw sandwiches around $20. This time, we came for the coffee. It was luscious!

First timers on Solomon and at Bugeye Grill. I will admit that we stopped by this restaurant…read morebecause it was one of the first ones that had outdoor seating (we were visiting with a dog). The restaurant had a nice variety of dishes and specialty cocktails...I think that I was more interested in the latter. ;) Since I have not visited Solomons, MD before, I cannot comment if the prices are comparable to other places in the area. However, most of the entrees were in the $25 and up range. I thought my fish and chips (I forget the actual name of the dish) were fine, and my spouse really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Although I thought the portion sizes for the sandwiches and fries were fine, the serving size of the mussels seemed a bit small. However, this could have been an optical illusion because the serving bowl for the mussels was HUGE, so the amount of mussels could have appeared to be smaller than what it was. I thought the outdoor patio was great especially with a view of the water and folks going about their business. However, some may not like the setup because you are right on the main street, which can be a bit noisy especially if a lot of bikers are cruising up and down the strip. Parking was a bit of a struggle (not the fault of the restaurant). During our visit, all of the public parking lots were full. However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.
