    "Steak"

Unfortunately the worst meal I've eaten in Solomon's or perhaps southern Maryland. The fish sandwich came with what looked like a piece of a kraft cheese square. My steak was cooked to the extreme! (see pic) the flies buzzing around added another element to the dining experience

Love the water view and the sunset! The grilled pork chop was delicious and the sides of mashed potatoes and spices kale were yummy too. Bartender Brent was awesome!

    Poke, which is absolutely AMAZING!!

The blonde hostess was welcoming and gave us a friendly greeting. She sat us outside and with good shade for my doggo. Andre, our server, was attentive to all our needs and exceeded expectations. He gave us plenty of time to decide on drinks and food. He also gave us plenty of water and ice to cool my fur baby down which I greatly appreciated. The drinks were solid. I will say the frozen pina colada was super strong and I wish it had more of the coconut tropical taste. It was definitely a cool down drink though. My mom likes strong drinks so keep at it! We had the honey old bay wings to start which were absolutely a must try! Very crisp and tasty! I ordered the burger which was tender and tasty. My mom had the chicken wrap at first but she had to send it back as she did not want ranch on it. Seeing that made her stomach turn (not ya'll fault, she had food poisoning yesterday, doesn't eat dairy, and wasn't too hungry). We ordered a plate of wings again to satisfy her and it overall was a nice outing. Andre and the staff were very attentive and I would highly recommend anyone try this hidden gem. Extra kudos to Andre though. Bro is an absolute gentleman and please let him know he is a star server in my eyes. I have been coming for two years! Thanks again!

I had a cider and a slice of key lime pie, and both were good. Our drinks came out quickly, and the service was great throughout the visit. Everyone in our group seemed to enjoy what they ordered. The best part was the atmosphere. The band was pretty good, the vibe was energetic, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. There was also plenty of room to dance in front of the stage, which made it feel more lively than just a regular bar stop. Overall, a solid place for drinks, live music, and meeting up with friends. I'd go back.

They roast their own coffee! Wow! Yum!…read more On a weekend morning (Jun 2026), we were in the vicinity of Solomons MD, and friends said that Bugeye Grill roasts their own coffee. That got our attention! We stopped in at this bright clean restaurant on a late weekend morning, (weekdays they open at 5pm). The French-press coffee was a tasty fragrant medium Brazilian blend. The flavor was well balanced, and it was a good smooth non-acidic coffee We found it to be a creamier fragrant brew, not a darker roasty flavor. It had a lightly malty sweetness and nuttiness, characteristic of its blend of Brazilian arabica, robusta, and hybrid beans. They have different blends from time to time. They really are a full-menu restaurant terrific views of Back Creek, and a midscale-classy vibe. They focus on seafood and steaks and lobster! We saw sandwiches around $20. This time, we came for the coffee. It was luscious!

First timers on Solomon and at Bugeye Grill. I will admit that we stopped by this restaurant…read morebecause it was one of the first ones that had outdoor seating (we were visiting with a dog). The restaurant had a nice variety of dishes and specialty cocktails...I think that I was more interested in the latter. ;) Since I have not visited Solomons, MD before, I cannot comment if the prices are comparable to other places in the area. However, most of the entrees were in the $25 and up range. I thought my fish and chips (I forget the actual name of the dish) were fine, and my spouse really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Although I thought the portion sizes for the sandwiches and fries were fine, the serving size of the mussels seemed a bit small. However, this could have been an optical illusion because the serving bowl for the mussels was HUGE, so the amount of mussels could have appeared to be smaller than what it was. I thought the outdoor patio was great especially with a view of the water and folks going about their business. However, some may not like the setup because you are right on the main street, which can be a bit noisy especially if a lot of bikers are cruising up and down the strip. Parking was a bit of a struggle (not the fault of the restaurant). During our visit, all of the public parking lots were full. However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.

It's a very clean establishment and the staff that greeted us were professional and very friendly. We perused the menu and decided on Thai chili mussels and cheesesteak egg rolls for apps, water and a fig martini for our drinks. The egg rolls came with marinara dipping sauce which was different. Both appetizers were good but lacked in flavor. They were both missing an umami flavor that would have elevated them. The eggs rolls specifically could have benefited from more cheese, a better quality of steak (the menu described it as having rib eye but it was very chewy..I know good ribeye has a nice fat cap but this wasn't that), and salt. The mussels had the spice from the red curry paste but again was missing salt. Sea salt or even soy sauce being added would have elevated that dish. It could have also benefited from some fresh garlic and a fresh herb like Thai basil. To note my martini was very sweet. It was comprised of fig vodka which intrigued me but it just wasn't for me. Our mains were the double crab cake dinner and I ordered a Caesar salad with cajun salmon. My salad was executed okay but with one exception: the dressing. I don't know what it was but it was definitely not a classic Caesar dressing. If you love a good Caesar salad you know the dressing is a crucial element to that salad and as much as I was looking forward to this dish, it failed. The salmon was cooked perfectly, there were shards of parm and not shreds which was a welcome addition and the romaine lettuce fell a bit short as well as it wasn't crisp. Overall I finished the salmon but not all of the remainder of the salad. It was just ok but the salmon definitely saved it. My husband had the crab cake dinner and he enjoyed it very much. There was not much filler in them and they were made with lump crab meat..I venture to say maybe even jumbo lump. I tasted them; they were seasoned very well. The dinner came with fingerling potatoes and coleslaw. I didn't get to taste the potatoes because my husband devoured those..so I guess they were good. I had a bit of the coleslaw and it was dressed well and flavorful; the celery seed in it was pronounced and it wasn't overly dressed in sauce which was good; the cabbage and other vegetables were able to retain a nice crunch. All in all we agreed although some things about our meal could be improved, we would certainly come back. There was a nice vibe in there, that allowed for a great laid back early week date night.

The restaurant has been open for four years, but the owners have run the liquor store next door for the past 17+ years. Because of this connection, they sell their wine at the same prices, making the selection and value outstanding.   THE SERVICE * The team graciously accommodated our group of seven. One of the staff was initially a little grumpy because we arrived late due to work commitments (my sincere apologies for that!), but our primary server, Kaytlyn, was friendly and offered excellent recommendations. The bartender, Christine, also took care of us. A major highlight of the night was chatting with Carolyn (owner/cook) and Mike (owner). They are both personable and do a great job cultivating an open, welcoming environment.   THE FOOD & DRINK We ordered a fair number of appetizers for the table, all of which were quite tasty: * Deviled Eggs: A favorite among the table! The addition of horseradish provided a perfectly subtle and delicious kick. * Charcuterie Board for Two: A great, classic grazing option. * Flatbreads: We tried both the Brie & Bacon and the Italian flatbreads, and both were solid. * Smoked Salmon Crostini: A lighter bite. * Spinesto Pomodoro Dip: Flavorful and great for sharing. * Moroccan Spiced Lamb Sliders: Well-seasoned and portioned. * Adelsheim Pinot Noir, Greenwing Cabernet: Two standouts with great value given the retail pricing structure.   OVERALL While the food was thoroughly enjoyable, it was the excellent wine value and the warm conversations with the staff and fellow customers that stole the show. Barrel 9 is a friendly and community-centric place to spend an evening.

We got there at 9:30 and the kitchen was closing at 10:00.. we had the smash burger, the atomic smash burger, clam strips, and chicken wings.. all the fried foods were amazing, including the fries that come with the clam strips. Right away, I could tell they were using fresh frying oil and everything was freshly fried.. most places double fry precooked stuff and use old oil.. to my surprise, everything was freshly made! Smash burger, they have smash burger! What? The fact that they served their signature Atomic smash burger with jalapeño, cheese, an onion ring, pulled pork or brisket, bacon, plus coleslaw?? This was amazing! The standard smash burger was just burger patties and cheese.. it was also really good. Chicken wings were like Korean fried chicken level good wings. I was a bit surprised how plump and juicy they were with really good sauce.. the waitress recommended Old Bay honey and lemon pepper, a half-and-half order that was amazing.. my daughter substituted her smash burger fries with green string beans.. wow, that was really amazing.. not some canned, mushy string beans, but rather really fresh, almost like they picked them from a local farm--buttered, salted, then fire-roasted.. are you kidding me? I wasn't even that hungry and took half of my burger home, munched it up the day after, and it was like eating an upgraded White Castle burger! Delicious.. anyway, this place is a real hidden gem.. It wasn't super busy when we arrived, but it still took about 10 minutes for any of the staff to acknowledge us. From there our service was fine, and the staff was nice (but not very knowledgeable). The menu was confusing; there were very few seafood options despite the name "Atomic Seafood". I tried the blackened haddock sandwich. The fish was barely seasoned and overall disappointing. We also tried the wings. The seasonings were all both bad and lacking. The Nashville dry rub wings had a coating of honey. The fries and pickle chips were okay. Overall, it was a disappointing meal and we would not go back. If you're just looking for a bar to enjoy a couple domestic beers during a football game with maybe a side of fries, this is probably a good fit for you. Buckets Bar, down the road, offers a similar atmosphere with better service, pricing, and quality of food.
