I called to get a to go order but was left on hold for almost 30 minutes. I hung up and called back and was on hold for another 10 to 15 minutes. By this time I'm driving to the restaurant and still on hold after I called back. By the time I get to the restaurant I'm still on hold. I go in and I tell the hostess that I was on hold for a to go order three separate times. She tells me that she's going to go get me a manager. We were meeting up with a close friend for dinner. I had been wanting steak for a while and wanted a place that had great steaks. We went on a Sunday evening and it was pretty packed. It didn't take long to be seated. Our waitress was cordial. It took 25 minutes to get bread and she took our drink orders while we waited for our friend. It took about 30 minutes for us to get our cocktails/tap beer. My husband said his beer was warm. No bueno! He sent it back and asked for a cold one. People know tap beer should be cold as should the stein it comes in! I had a pomegranate mojito and it was...meh. Our friend finally arrived and we were able to order our meals. He showed his Landry card. This card evidently gives the cardholder extra attention. Who doesn't love extra attention and better service. We had prime rib, New York Strip and T-bone steak as our meals! Yum yum! They were cooked to perfection and were so yummy! Our friend loves piping hot fries and made sure to stress this to the waitress. When his fries came out the were indeed piping hot and he was happy. We were happy too that he didn't have to throw a fit. Lol. We opted out of having a dessert. First off let me say I love Saltgrass, the food is great and I love the drinks but the service at this location is in serious need of training/retraining. I applaud the youngins out there trying to make a dollar but you are not going to make any money with the service that I got. We were rushed though out drink order, the server put my water down on top of the menu I was trying to read. We were rushed into ordering, our server left our dirty salad plates and empty glasses on the table. When our food came he handed (HANDED) my boyfriends plate of food to him and then slid my plate across the table. We ordered another drink when our food came but we were also missing a side. We were 3/4 through our meal when we received them and Im pretty sure they nuked it. He then handed us the check before we were even finished and then asked us if we wanted dessert, my man was livid. I have visited this location quite a few times and it is hit or miss! The food is usually pretty good...never great. Yesterday afternoon four of us went in at 5:30. We were seated and quickly greeted by our waiter. He took our drink order (4 glasses of wine) and promptly came back with water and bread......................... He was very attentive to the table next to us so at two different times we asked about our wine. The second time when he said he was just waiting on the bartenders (notice plural there) to pour, we knew there was a bigger problem. After waiting for at least 30 minutes (NOT an exaggeration) we decided to go somewhere else to have drinks and dinner. The friend who is a Landry member stopped to inform the manager of our decision and he asked if he could do anything to correct the problem but it was too late. The TWO bartenders had maybe 5 folks at the bar. Not sure why it was so hard to pour 4 glasses of wine. I thought maybe they were mad because on two occasions prior we had asked for clean wine glasses because the ones we were brought were really dirty... No excuse. I have been in the restaurant business for many, many years. You don't bite the hand that feeds you. Mostly I want corporate to know there is a serious bartender problem at this location. This was my second visit at this location. Both times has been very good experience. Both food and service are top notch. Learning from our last visit (Coming home with almost another dinner serving of leftovers) This place believe in stuffing you up. My husband and I shared Seafood Fondue and Rib eye steak dinner. Steak was cooked to perfection. No sauce or extra seasoning needed. Mac and Cheese was nice and creamy. Fried straw onion was the bomb. Our server Anthony took care of us very well. I patronized this Salt Grass on Friday; my waitress was great; actually a C class trainer she explained to us. The food was cooked perfectly, quite a big difference from the last time we came. We were happy we decided to give this location a second try. The reason for the low review, I left my wallet there. We were seated in a booth where the seat cushion was loose. It was very likely it had fallen through. I realized this the following morning and immediately called Salt Grass believing it may have fallen into that loose seat cushion when I went to put it away. The person I spoke with on the phone told me it hadn't been turned but she would let the manager know, perhaps it was in their safe, took my name and number, and said he would give me a call back. No call. I went to Salt Grass let them know I was there in search of my wallet. The hostess called Micheal Medina, the manager. I told him why I was there he let me know he received my message. I showed and asked him to check the booth I was sitting at and explained the loose seat cushion. He looked, told me someone was sitting there and refused to go check. Gave me his card (with Salt Grass's number -public knowledge) and told me he would look once that person left and call me. He never called.... The following morning I called and spoke with Crystal, another manager. Crystal was very helpful, listened, andimmediately went to the booth in question and found my wallet. Micheal, has never even gone to check. What poor customer service Michael Medina is providing customers. Patrons are not just the people sitting at your tables currently. They are those that have patronized and might patronize it in the future. I will not be patronizing this Salt Grass ever again. I will be sure to pass on the word. Crystal thank you for doing what a proper manager should do. I hope Micheal is dealt with accordingly. read more

Try calling and the line is always busy so I'm sure this is on purpose. My server was Jerdell. The young man was on the ball. I came in and knew the appetizer and meal and sides I wanted right off the bat. He suggested a margarita to go with it...great idea. I got my appetizer and next thing I knew I had my entree and no salad that I ordered. Jerdell stepped over and instantly realized I didn't get my salad before my entree and offered to wrap it up to go. Yes sir, great idea. I eat my Pats ribeye cooked perfectly and my broccoli. I have been to this Saltgrass numerous times over the years (though not much in the last year or two as I no longer live around there) but have always been happy with my experience there. For starters, the rolls with that creamy Shiner Butter are really quite good. All the steaks I have ordered there (that's all I get there, is steak, I mean - come on) have been good cuts. My only complaint would be that I have found that they have possibly undercooked some of it a few times. But for the most part it has been good. I also do not tend to mind a little undercooked steak. Started with a new appetizer not yet on the menu-Queso with brisket, I had Pat's Ribeye and the cuter half of this couple had the Cattleman's Prime Rib. Both came with a salad and baked potato. Came in about 630 today for dinner and the hostess wasn't the friendliest by that I mean she didn't say one word other than her body language saying she has better things to do. Was Sat down and waited for 5 plus minutes waiting for a waiter. Shooting from the hip I'd say about 40% capacity. My server started off good considering a rocky start he had said just one if them days management has them all over the place. Luckily the runner brought my food out, as I ate my entire meal and then sat for close to 10 minutes and observed my waiter getting a little chatty with a single woman sitting by herself. Did not get checked on once. He chatted with her for over 20 minutes. Sure I'm a guy we like to chase woman but do your job. I guess the area is not yet ready for Door Dash, Uber Eats or GrubHub because it took over 40 min for the delivery. Good temperature for everything but there was no gravy so I couldn't eat it. I couldn't believe it. This is Texas, hell every restaurant gives you gravy even if you don't want it. This time I did. $25 meal thrown out because of one missing item. When I got home, the steak was actually medium rare, when I called they told me they couldn't refund me so I went in the next day to speak to a manager and the manager on duty, Raul said I should have put it in the oven to finish cooking it then followed by he'll give me a refund. We sat at the table for 15 mins and not once did someone check in with us. The Manager in the grey button up shirt, looked at us twice and didn't even bother to come check on us. We walked out. Service started off bad which pretty much means the dinner was to be the same experience. It's now 8:30 and everything closes at 9. So my night is pretty over before it even started. First loaf of bread was cold and crunchy. Save some money and go on to next place and eat or just keep driving. Did I mention the service was crap? Waited for quite a while for the food to get to our table and we were there early afternoon. The booth seat cushion we sat in was broken and the waiter acted surprised when I mentioned it to him. He then lied about some renovations that were coming soon. As we were leaving I could see that plenty other booths suffered the same problem as the one I was in. Saturday the 11th a group of friends and us (12 in all) had my Birthday Dinner here. We have all been to this Saltgrass before with no issues. Had previously made Reservations and the group arrived by 6:30. Needless to say it was approximately 45 minutes before we were seated! (The Manager gave us free appetizers because of the long wait time.) Waited another 20 minutes before our Waitress came to take our drink order and another 25 minutes before we got drinks. Placed our order and it was 1Hr + before we ever got our meal. When they arrived most of our food was cold and unable to eat. One of the friends asked to speak to the Manager and waited some time for him to come. He was told about this but did nothing. In total it was 3 + hrs from start to finish. The Waitress came very little to our table but was very prompt to other customers. It was a sad experience and one that will be remembered because of the service we received. Unless there is a change in the Service none of us will be back to this Saltgrass. Made a very sad ending to an otherwise Happy Birthday!!! read more

Visited this place the day after Christmas. Was quoted about 10-15 mins which isn't that bad. They were steady. Got seated, can't remember the servers name. She was okay. For sure remember is was a young lady with brunette hair. The resturant itself was clean the restroom was well kept as well. The food tasted really good. It just took forever for it to come out. I order the grilled chicken dinner the chicken was great the Mac and cheese was THE BOMB. My only issues was with my mash potatoes. Everything else was seasoned great expect those. I'm never disappointed with the food. That being said, the service, or lack there of, is frustrating. I'm a Landry's Select Club member, so we visit this Saltgrass usually once a month. Every single time we visit, our party always observes mismanagement, lackadaisical staff. and/or filthy restrooms. As an individual who usually spends $80-$100 every visit, I'm very upset with the responses I've received from management when I've brought up the issues -in an attempt to have them resolved. "Yeah I know. We're busy. We don't have time to clean it." -Right out of a managers mouth when I brought it to his attention that the restroom was a complete mess.
