    Blackened chicken and coleslaw
    Quin B.

This is a fairly new restaurant on the block after replacing the spot of a closed down mexican restaurant. First I thought I was ordering a blackened chicken sandwich when I was just ordering a piece of blackened chicken. The menu could use some separation between the two. I was given some bread after asking tho. I hope this establishment makes some improvements. I did not feel my plate was cohesive. The chicken was missing that deep blackened seasoning, the beans and rice were not bad, the coleslaw was very good, and as you can see in the pics everything is separated.

Please do not eat the gumbo! The shrimp had a sour taste and gumbo lacked flavor.

I expected this to taste like It was from Louisiana since it's in the name, this is Texas Cajun food. The Gumbo was bland and the shrimp tasted old/sour. We did enjoy the seasonings on the live crawfish. The service was great and the food was hot and fast - it just was not fresh and flavorful as food is in Louisiana.

Ask the Community - Louisiana Crab Shack

Is this a real place? Street view on the map doesn't show it and my Garmin GPS couldn't find the address.

Yes. As a matter of fact, I just ate there last night. They still gave crawfish and they are delicious. Put in Red Robin cedar hill and it ma in the shopping center across from chase. Same center as Plato’s closet. Enjoy!

I'm visiting from Ohio, and they wanted to make sure I experienced this hidden gem. From the outside, it's a quaint little house tucked along Belt Line Road, but the moment you walk through the doors, you're transported to what feels like a beautiful beach hut on a tropical island. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and unlike anything you'd expect. The food was absolutely phenomenal! We started with the Rockefeller Oysters and the Supreme Shrimp Nachos, and both were incredible. For my entrée, I had the blackened red snapper, and it was one of the freshest pieces of fish I've ever had--it honestly tasted like it had just been caught that morning. The service was just as impressive as the food. Every member of the staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely made us feel like family. Five-star service from beginning to end. Whether you're local or just visiting the Dallas area, Lela's Seafood is an experience you don't want to miss. I will more than likely return in the future. Hopefully my order wI'll be more seasoned than before.

Called the place back and the young lady said I could return for a remake. Why would I return after waiting 20-25 minutes. She said you can come back later based on me telling her I didn't have time to return. Not an option either. I wanted the food for lunch not dinner. So then I said to myself, try the fish. - to my surprise the fish was just as bad. I just simply don't understand waiting for this amount of time and the food is not piping hot. Called the young lady back and she said it was hot when she presented it to me. No ma'am try someone else. With the amount of time I waited, My food should've been piping hot. Not sitting under a light hot. One thing I don't play about is my time and money and I may not get my time back but I will get my money back. Of course they have a no refund no exchange sign but EYE guarantee you that I'll will get my coins back. People on this side of town think they can continuously serve garbage and there's no recourse. I usually do my best to stay away from BS places like this but I've changed my diet and have been eating fish only and stopped here to adhere to my diet. This probably isn't even real fish. My second son is not a huge fan of seafood and complained that the menu needed more non-seafood options. He had chicken strips. I had leftovers from my two pound seafood boil. One of two places it looks like to eat in Founders Row. Came with a group of 7. We stood around the bar height tables and had drinks for about an hour before finally sitting down. The bartender took great care of us despite the size of the group and ensured we had everything we needed. Once we sat down, the real magic happened. We ordered a few apps for the table, calamari, spinach and artichoke dip and alligator bites. I only had some of the artichoke dip and some of the complementary smoked salmon dip they brought out. Didn't want to be too full for the catfish plate I ordered. The artichoke dip was made with smoked Gouda and was great. The other apps got great comments from other people in the party. I ordered a fried catfish plate that came with grilled shrimp, coleslaw and fries. Catfish was cooked perfectly and the grilled shrimp were delicious, great seasoning. The coleslaw is made with cabbage, green bell pepper and apple cider vinegar. Really great combo that worked well. Service was great especially for our large party. Our server who was also the bartender because we sat in the bar area kept a fresh soda water in front of me the entire time, never had to ask. The manager/owner? even stopped over to check in on us a couple of times. Stop in for a great meal, I wish I could return to try the crawfish etoufee.

The crawfish tasted old, like it had been sitting or reheated, and the seasoning was extremely weak compared to other locations. The sausage tasted undercooked, which is concerning on its own. What really raised a red flag for me was that something in my bag had a strange, almost soapy or chemical taste. That is not normal and points to a potential food safety issue. I ended up throwing the food away because I didn't feel comfortable continuing to eat it. When it comes to seafood, freshness and proper handling are critical, and this location is clearly missing the mark. There is a major inconsistency in quality compared to other locations. This wasn't just a bad meal, it felt like a potential health concern. Management asked me to give them another chance, and unfortunately, this visit confirmed the problem rather than fixing it.
