We dined here for dinner on the Fourth of July, and found that this restaurant has deservedly returned to its status as the preeminent upscale restaurant in Laughlin. The only problem we encountered was that a window table was not ready for us until thirty minutes after the time of our reservation. But the river view was worth the wait! We began with a complimentary Bread Basket that included excellent lavosh, and a Shrimp Cocktail Supreme sporting five shrimps. This time the crustations were meaty and flavorful dipped in a two-tone sauce. We requested and received extra lavosh with no resistance. Next up for me was a good French Onion Soup Au Gratin with a large crouton laden with a mix of Parmesan and Swiss Cheeses. Then I tried the Steak Diane Soup that came with Diane's order. It was the best version of this soup that I have sampled to date. Tender chunks of beef dissolved in the mouth carried along by a sea of broth that tasted like Mushroom Gravy. A complex dinner salad followed, with Mixed Greens (no Iceberg Lettuce at all), Grape Tomatoes, Artichoke Hearts, Bleu Cheese Dressing and Bleu Cheese Crumbles. It was here over 25 years ago that I first tasted wonderful Bleu Cheese Crumbles in the same type of salad. After cleansing our palates with Lemon Sorbet, for mains I had lean Veal Piccata with Capers and Spaghetti slathered with a delectable Lemon Cream Sauce, while Diane enjoyed her usual order of Coquilles Saint Jacques. This time the included Scallops were very small but the Shrimps were very big, and portions were generous. For dessert we splurged on two orders of delicious Bananas Foster prepared tableside, and I had a Decaf Coffee. Richard, our server, did a wonderful job of flambeeing this treat, that by this time was accompanied by a few bursting fireworks that were visible to us just across the Colorado River from our perches above. The elegant ambiance of the restaurant this evening could not have been better. We left in time to observe most of the Rockets Over the River fireworks show from our parked car on a hilltop overlooking the Laughlin Strip well above Casino Drive. I am not sure what I was expecting but we certainly had a good time. I loved the live piano music! It wasn't just old classics, there were some unexpected fun tunes in there as well. Our waiter, Charles, deserves 6 stars for his service alone! He was insanely knowledgeable, funny, and didn't shy away from our alcohol induced antics. He even asked the chef if I could sub an item (chef said nope but I appreciated his effort). The wine is a bit overpriced for what it is, I sent the image of their bottle list to someone more familiar than myself and they confirmed that the price is less at a high end restaurant near LA. The appetizers were delicious. Overall, the food was good but I found the appetizer better than the main course. Everyone else had giant portions of food and mine was just a few bites. I was very surprised to find such a great restaurant in Laughlin. This is an old school place. I felt like I was in a time warp from 20 years ago but that was fine by me. The room is dated but super comfortable. We had excellent vies of the river from large windows. The service was spot on and everyone was super knowledgeable of the menu. We had the château Brion for two. It was perfectly cooked and so tender. The house salads were delicious. I wish I saved room for dessert because it sounded delicious and they had over 7 items for dessert. The wine list was large and fair priced. Definitely Laughlin's hidden gem. read more

First the good. Oliver and I believe John (for the most part) were excellent servers, friendly and engaging. The vinaigrette on the salad was good. Now the bad. The smoke smell from the casino permeates everything. The Maitre'D was standoffish and snobby. Our group had 4 people with mobility issues including 2 with walkers. There was no consideration given to this and the Maitre'D was insistent we sit upstairs which was awkward and dangerous. Because of how badly spaced the restaurant is the walkers were then taken away so neither would have been able to get up to use the bathroom easily. The piano is excessively loud and drowns out conversation. The decor and as mentioned room layout is dated and poorly planned. The food is hideously old fashioned and very overpriced. The cheese platter was worse than a gas station charcuterie. My meal was flavorless and watery with gritty shellfish. The poor layout means the servers are having to constantly lean over people and often over dividing bannisters. I heard a server speaking down to a child at another table. One server decided it was okay to move my chair while I was sitting on it without my permission for the sake of a photo instead of asking or waiting for me to move myself. It's rundown, badly organised and basically feels like a dated parody of a comic sketch set in a restaurant from the 1970s. Avoid at all costs. read more

Definitely for an older crowd, but my date and I were super impressed! The location was a little hard to find in the casino, but when we got our food it was all worth it! We had reservations for night time but I wish we got to see the sunset on the water. There are no bad seats in this restaurant, and it was super nice to be seated side by side looking out onto the water. For the $$$ price of the dishes, our food was good! Particularly the beef soup appetizer was very savory and delicious, and we loved the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, though it can get pretty spicy! We also got the Lobster Ravioli, and it came with a ton of pasta...we couldn't even finish! I think I would skip it though, it felt a little bland compared to the Shrimp pasta, especially for the price. 30 years with my beautiful wife and I asked friends for advice on the best restaurant in the area and they nailed it We had the best seat in the house. Sitting right on the front row in the middle of the restaurant with a 180 degree view The waiter was well versed on the menu and was very attentive. We try to hit the Gourmet Room at least once a year. Each time, we have always been impressed. Our goal is to either try something outside of our norm, or indulge in something we wouldn't normally eat. This time we did a bit of both. We started with the Baked Brie with berries. Wow!!! Such a combination of tastes that made for an excellent taste on our palettes. After our soup and palette cleanser, I had the surf and turf and my fiancée had the Pasta Rustica. Both were delicious and made perfectly. We then finished with a lava cake, which unfortunately didn't have any lava . A bit of a bummer, but not enough to ruin our experience. As always the service was terrific and our waiter was there for our every need. We were once again lucky to get a window seat and got to see the sunset on the water (or at least the reflection of it since their windows face east). My wife and I ordered the Chateaubriand for Two. It was heavenly, and the plates were prepared table side by the waiter. It was nice to find a place in Laughlin where the restaurant ambiance, service, and the food resembled the atmosphere and experience one use to get 30-40 years ago at posh restaurants. This is our first time at the gourmet room. What an amazing first impression. The view right now with the Sun setting is truly breathtaking. Our server John And his assistant Arnold really understand what fine dining entails. The attention to detail was recognized during the entire experience. Can't wait to come back. My wife and I enjoyed dinner here last night. The setting is rather pleasant overlooking the river with the huge panoramic floor to ceiling windows, though they noticeably needed cleaning. The decor and furnishings were stylish, elegant, and comfortable. Food was okay. I might have been more impressed if my entree was actually hot, rather than lukewarm. The maitre de butter wouldn't even melt atop my filet Mignon. The scalloped potatoes were cold and bland as well. My wife was not impressed with the seafood crepes. The best tables are along the windows that provide a spacious view of the Colorado River and Bullhead City, AZ. On this night we were treated to a moon rise. Charlie is a long time server and provides excellent service. We ordered Filet Mignon, 8 oz. Escargot, Lobster Bisque, Salad and a single 7 oz. Lobster Tail. All of the food was great- we got the Spinach Dip with Artichoke hearts, Insalata Caprese, King Crab legs, Pasta with sausage, Truffle pasta with shrimp, Lobster Ravioli and the 2 best dishes were the scampi app and the scampi pasta. Mixed Review Have to say the room is lovely with great views of the river and adjacent foothills, especially at sunset. Had dinner there on 1/22. Waiter was John and was awesome....made a terrific tableside Ceasar salad. However, for the second time in about a month, the kitchen could not get my steak order right. Both times, I requested it cooked medium well (and I know that's a sin to a lot of people). Both times it came back somewhere between rare and medium rare. We took it home, my husband prefers his steak that way. But, as a result, we won't be going back again for dinner. Maybe a wonderful salad, drinks and dessert. read more

The Ambiance was very good. The restaurant looks over the river and we had a very comfortable table. They brought out warm bread and the Caesar salad was made for us table right at the table. We watched them at other tables making some very nice salads and entrees. But what really caught my eye was the server making Cafe Diablo at a table near by. I definitely want to try this someday. So we ordered the seafood tower as an entree to share. Well shame on us. Not sure why would think this a place to order seafood. The whole thing was fishy smelling, the one of the oysters was missing and one was milky looking. We told the assistant server but they never addressed it. We will definitely go back next time we are in Laughlin but will steer clear of any seafood. They might want to rethink that seafood tower too. This is our go to for a nice, fancy, delicious meal with a fantastic view. We usually sit right in front of the floor-to-ceiling wall-to-wall windows but were seated in up in a rear booth. We didn't have the view we were expecting but we were hungry and decided to stay in the booth. A storm came in and people ended up being moved away from the windows so it turned out good for us. Apparently, you get the small scoop of sorbet ice cream only if you order and eat the appetizer prior to the main course. Service was fantastic as usual and the food was also very tasty. Let's start with French onion soup wouldn't order it again it was not hot and the taste was not the best broth I have ever had.
