Staff is super nice and attentive. The restaurant is clean too. Kids meal is priced well and generous. That is for the burger. The warm bread is soft and comes with sweet butter. Got here between five and six and ordered the lunch special of beef tips, with mushrooms on a bed of mashed potatoes with cognac sauce. It was a small portion. I left feeling hungry. Going to have my second dinner soon. This is why I give 3 stars. Kids meal easily had double the amount of food as mine.

After seeing Kelly O's review, earlier today; of Saltgrass, I had to go in and try it today! Her pictures of the black pepper crusted steak looked so appealing as did the Mac & cheese! The inside was a little dark in appearance, a little like the old-time steak houses. Everything look clean and well maintained! The food was 5 stars, and though we ordered lunch portions, we still ended up taking some of it home! The Mac & cheese was very cheesy but at an up charge. The service was 3 stars. Though it was fairly empty, with 5+ waiters standing around and apparently 2 folks for the hostess stand, no one was there, several minutes wait to be seated. Wait for our waitress was longer than should have been. She had no idea of what black pepper crusted steak was. I had to pull up the picture from Christy's review before a manager finally came and explained it. Had to as for extra butter twice before getting it. Service was slow throughout our visit. Sad, as the atmosphere and food were great! Could have been a 5 star review! We will be back at Saltgrass, but not this Lewisville location!

John was amazing! Very kind and funny guy. The food was absolutely amazing - coming from someone who IS a fan of steaks and someone who would pass. We were both very satisfied with our meals. 10/10 make room for the cheesecake! Beautiful restaurant and nice atmosphere.

The tortilla soup was mid. Needed more depth and flavor, the broth was too clear. The bread was decent but it made me miss the roadhouse rolls and butter. HOWEVER, the steak was cooked perfectly! Medium rare throughout the whole cut! The service was EXCEPTIONAL! Our server was amazing.

Looks can be deceiving. The sirloin was so tough.

Two stars for the service - the bartender was nice and attentive. The steak was horrible. I got the sirloin medium rare and had to saw that thing apart and chew 3 minutes each bite. I did get it "Oscar style" with crab on top. That was the best part of the meal. Mashed potatoes were so garlicky, I couldn't eat them. The next night, I ended up at Texas Roadhouse and took a bite of my GF's sirloin. That was 100x better.

Bread was awesome and fluffy and delicious. Steak 8oz sirloin side of Brussels Delicious but the Brussels sprouts little bit bland and no dressing. House salad with ranch. Yummy. Great birthday location today. Yummy dinner at 7pm out by 9pm had two round of drinks and steak and opens gifts too. We even were allowed to have our own cake. I brought plates and utensils less clean up work. Waitress was awesome! She was on top of her game 100% thank you!

Really enjoyed our visit here. We started our meal off with the fried mushrooms! They were really good and surprisingly not greasy! That's usually the case with fried foods. Duh!!! Today it wasn't! We had the Nashville Hot Chicken Tenders that comes with slaw and honey mustard. Pretty good appetizers. Our family is off to a great start! The service was spot on. We had so many loaves of bread and whipped butter. Grateful, our waitress kept those loaded on our table. Their salads are good and all the dressing are homemade! The Cesar salad was spot on in regards to flavor. We all had varies types of steak. The Wagon Boss Center Cut Top Sirloin was pretty good. The one thing that tasted off was the mashed potatoes. Tasted like they used hot dog juice for flavoring vs milk. Other then that, I suggest you order a baked potato and keep it simple. Don't order a fully loaded potato either cause, it's still those hot dog flavored mashed potatoes with stuff on top! Just an FYI/public service announcement! February 2023

We love a good Happy Hour, so we grabbed a hightop by the bar and ordered a couple of drinks. I got the cosmo, complete with tiny ice crystals on top, which is my favorite. Then we split the special sandwich of the night, a sweet and spicy ribeye sandwich. This one was not my favorite. It had too much bread and too many green peppers, which I am not a fan of, although my husband liked it... Like the song says, two out of three ain't bad, and we will definitely be back. Hubby had the half Cobb salad with grilled chicken and a bowl of tomato basil soup. He probably could have had a cup because the bowl was a very generous portion. Don't put vague descriptions in print if your staff can't break them down when the guest asks questions. On a side note, I know for a fact that this company requires all their managers to be clean shaven. Yet, I saw a cook/chef with a fairly thick, quasi-biker beard working the line in an open kitchen in clear view of guests. Kind of ironic. I'd rather the dude making my food be clean shaven for obvious reasons. Unlikely that I return.

The space is large, comfortable, and full of life, even on a Wednesday evening. There are cozy sofa corners if you want something a little more intimate, plus an outdoor area that's "outside"... but not too outside, which honestly feels like a win. Drinks were a highlight. My boulevardier was spot on, and then I shared a smoked Old Fashioned with my friend that was just... exquisite. Smooth, balanced, and a little dramatic in the best way. Food held its own. The chicken and waffles were delicious, the chopped chicken salad was fresh and satisfying, and my friend's Reuben got a lot of love from her side of the table. And then came dessert. We shared the Whiskey Cake with praline ice cream, and let's just say, it lives up to the name. Decadent, rich, and absolutely worth it. Service was really good. Attentive without hovering, and thoughtful in those small ways that stand out. At one point, our server split the Old Fashioned for us without us even asking. That kind of anticipation earns points. This is the kind of place you return to when you're back in town. Comfortable, reliable, and just indulgent enough to feel like a treat.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Tupelo Honey is a stand-alone restaurant conveniently located near Hwy 114 and 161. There's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seating. Speaking of the bar, it acts as a beautiful backdrop for the entire restaurant. 1 Star. Service - The service is always friendly. Our server is always smiling, and I can't help but feel welcome with southern charm. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.
