They have several combo bags for 2-4 lbs of seafood that you can mix and match, and i love that they have a qr code to scan to calculate how much the market price for each item is! We also got to try some of their drinks and they were pretty good!! I like the adult caprisun bags c: Service is also always so friendly and i like how the space feels more open and calm compared to other spots! Missed out on Fat Tuesday so stopped by Capt Loui to make up for it. This place did not disappoint. There sauce was just the right amount of heat and the cook was perfect. Another plus was after we we're done the scent of seafood was not there. I just felt the seafood was fresh and clean which isn't always the case. Fantastic crawfish place, maybe my new favorite. The live crawfish was pretty sizable and was cooked to perfection make them not too hard to peel at all. At the time we went they had a 4lb crawfish with three free sides (including premium sides) and also they were throwing in a crab cluster or lobster. Met friends for lunch. It had just opened. Three of the 4 including myself got the boil bag lunch special . It includes 2 items in the boil totaling 1 pound plus a side and drink. We thought it was a pound of each item, but realized we were wrong once we got our food. We all agreed that this is not the place to go for boiled crawfish. They were very small, overcooked and tasted like they were frozen. The boiled shrimp and garlic noodles good, however. Good seasoning. I went with mild which was perfect for me. I had my noodles placed in the bag, which was an option. That was my side. A friend got the fried shrimp basket. She loved it. We shared the funnel cake fries for dessert because why not? I don't know you all. All the servers were running around with their heads cut off as if it was everyone's first day. We ordered a chicken sandwich, shrimp basket, and a boil, 1/2 lb of shrimp head on. No one had any complaints about the food, just the service. We may have to go on a different day. read more

We have been regular clients here. Took a break after crawfish season and came back to TRASH Service. We ordered two boiler bags a children's meal and shrimp po boy with fries... Everything was cold except the children's meal ! I almost forgot about the hair in one of the boiler bags. Po boy bread was soft but cold. Nothing close to French bread. Let's start with the pros- our waitress was good minus having to ask for refills. She was quick when asked. She explained the menu and sauces. Place is clean, but parking on Saturday night was a bit rough just because it was busy, even at 9:15 at night. Cons- I am from the coast so cooking seafood is something that not everyone can nail. The medium heat and Loui sauce was good. Different. Had a hint of sweet, Cajun heat. Now onto to the seafood itself. The crab was severely over cooked. When you cook snow crab it was shrivel the meat up and dry it out inside the legs, claws etc. in pictures you will see. I have never been to a finer restaurant that doesn't wash their crawfish. We get crawfish almost weekly during season. You can get fresh live as field run, washed and graded etc. they were decent in size, but they were filthy and tasted like mud with buttery Cajun to cover it. Again pictures to show. The sausage is like a cheap eckridge sausage that's been sliced and over cooked making the outside chewy/ rubber like casing. The ez peel shrimp no head were over cooked. Again when you over cook it actually clings to the shell making it impossible to slip tail and shell off. It too had zero favor until you got the shell off and dipped into the sauce. Pricing. I get crawfish shipped to Abilene, TX EVERY Friday and I pay $4 per pound for washed and graded. For them to charge $15.42 a pound for smaller and dirty was crazy. For 2 cluster of crab $42 was insane. We did a 4lb and three side. We choose the noodles, garlic toast and sausage as the sides. Bread lacked crunch. Wasn't done enough. The all you can eat noodles were super dry. There was no actual plates or dishes to eat in front of you. Paper boats that after ten minutes of buttery started to fold. Now if you read the door it says closes at 11. Kitchen 30 minutes prior. By 10 we were done fighting shrimp and ripping them apart because they were over cooked. I asked to for the funnel cake fries. Kitchen was closed. Felt really weird having them put chairs up on tables all around us, almost forcing us out. All in all I am a seafood lover and critic so I am much more picky then typical person that never eats it. 1-2 stars out of 5. Yes we did mention it was over cooked and never offered to recook. read more

Had the opportunity to visit Cap't Loui Carrollton and we were not disappointed. Definitely a hidden treasure we were visiting for the first time. Started off with oysters and they were delicious. Then proceeded with their 4 pound boil bags. My wife had easy peel shrimp, snow crab, crawfish, boiled eggs, corn, potatoes and garlic noodles. I had crawfish, sausage, boiled eggs, corn, potatoes and garlic noodles. With the four pound bag we both got a full lobster as well. We opted for the Cap't Loui seasoning and selected hot. I've always had issues finding crawfish seasoned hot enough for my liking. This place nailed it, may even go one more level hotter next time. The crawfish were pretty large and seasoned perfectly, probably the best I have had in the DFW area. Pleasantly surprised by the amount of food we received in our boil bag. When I ordered sausage and eggs as a side, I expected one or two pieces, but received more than that. The service was excellent, the quality was outstanding, and the quantity was much more than I expected. Simmy was our server and she did a great job assisting us in all our needs. My wife enjoyed her Margaritas. We also had the pleasure to speak with Hanna the owner and she was very sweet. We had an awesome dinner experience! As we shared with the owner, her staff--Zoe and Juna--truly set the atmosphere for us as first-time guests. They were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food did not disappoint! Stopped by as a party of two on Sunday night, were sat sat right away. Music playing. Clean bathrooms for the most part except no soap in the ladies restroom. They do have a sink outside In the main restaurant for saucy hands though. The prices on the wall did not match the QR code link, but the waitress said just to go off the wall prices in restaurant. The garlic noodles were delicious! Sweet potato fries I wish were a little crispier but they weren't bad. They bring out gloves, bib and little disposable plates. Came by frequently to check on us. And our bill was less than we expected! We got crawfish and shrimp and clams with capt Louie seasoning and medium spice. It was really good! I have always come to Capt. Lou on my lunch breaks because it's quick and convenient to grab takeout, sit down, and enjoy a drink before heading back to work. Unfortunately, my experience on Friday, August 28 around 1:30 PM was extremely disappointing. After already paying for my takeout order and leaving a tip, I was refused service to sit at a table and enjoy my meal with a drink. The white blonde woman working at the time gave me an unnecessarily hard time about something I've done here many times before. It felt completely inconsistent and honestly ridiculous. As someone who comes here regularly, I expect to be treated with respect and consistency. We ordered the combo w/ clams, crab legs, shrimp, and mussels, all tossed in their signature house sauce which was super flavorful (med spice level was perfect for us)! Every bite was bursting with flavor, and everything was cooked to perfection. The corn and potatoes were the perfect sidekick, and don't forget to order the garlic noodles, which tastes best when mixed in with all the seafood (you're welcome for this cheat code)! I immediately texted my friend and said yooooo they have this grand opening special and told her. She walked in 5 mins later. Our server took our drink order and gave us a minute to talk about what we wanted to order but we are foodies and we knew what we wanted just had to agree on how much we wanted ‍‍ We ordered the 3lb boil special where you get two sides for free. We got the snow crab legs, with Cajun fries and garlic noodles. Then my friend said I haven't really eaten for two days so she added 1 lb mussels, 1/2 lb clams and 1lb headless shrimp. Our server said well if you add another 1/2 lb you can get another two free sides. So my friend was like what the hell.....make it a pound of clams and I want corn and he said well corn comes with it she said well I love corn! And she added egg. We got the Capt Loui sauce and got it mild. Everything came to the table and we started eating like we had no sense. The sauce was so good! And the garlic noodles were perfect for me just the way they were BUT our server whispered to us and said one thing I like to do is add some of the sauce to the garlic noodles and it's REALLY good. So hey I'm a "big back" ‍‍ soooooo I scoop some of the sauce on the noodles and if I would order just that for a meal if they had it on the menu as one. A side of the sauce is a little pricey, but if I did a seafood boil at home I would go there just to buy some! You can even increase the spice level if you want. Needless to say we had too much food (brought leftovers home) but he asked did we want to have dessert???? I'm like what???? I'm a big back but my back isn't that big! One of our two go to seafood boil places! Their sauce is very flavorful and I love that it's actually spicy when we order extra hot. We normally order the combo with shrimp and corn and it hits the spot every time. Their $1 oyster deals on Tuesdays are super good so I would definitely recommend it for fellow oyster lovers! The only thing I wish they would change is their huge clams. They're pretty big and shells are heavy (waste of weight). The clams are a little bit too chewy in my opinion. We stopped ordering the clams after a visit when i bit down on multiple broken pieces of shell and a tiny PEARL!! The customer service is prompt and friendly. The atmosphere is clean and the environment is not too overly loud. It's spacious and the seating isn't too close together. I had seen great reviews about the garlic noodles so I decided to try them and they didn't disappoint. The were delicious and creamy and so good. I would come just for the noodles but the seafood is good too..the shrimp, the snow crab, & mussels were tasty. I also had the adult Capri Sun strawberry margarita which was a huge size...it was flavorful. For dessert, we had the beignets which were also good. Absolutely amazing experience at this captain Loui location! I had been to the one in Las Vegas, which had equally good food, but the customer service at this location is top-notch! Regardless of if they are your server or not, each worker treats everyone who walks in the door with respect, kindness, and care. I came in incredibly hungry so I ordered way more than I can finish in one sitting I ordered one lobster tail, half a pound of shrimp and half a pound of crawfish all made Cajun style mild. It was so delicious. I wish my stomach could have grown so that I could keep eating, but unfortunately, I have a small tank and couldn't bring any of it back to my hotel. If I could have, I would have definitely come back, but I had a very short stay in Texas, next time I'm in town this will definitely be on the top of my list of places to eat! read more

The food didn't arrive very quickly and I wished we had ordered an appetizer. Our choice of entrees is probably the reason for our lack of enthusiasm over this restaurant. We chose two entrees from the fried foods menu. Nothing we had was excellent. I'd rather eat fried seafood from other restaurants that I think provide much higher quality seafood that is better tasting. From what I can tell, if you're considering this restaurant you need to order one of the boils. And, be ready to spend your hard-earned cash...it ain't cheap. The ambiance is very clean and well decorated. They were not very busy when we arrived, but it was bustling before we left. I'm pleased that it wasn't very noisy. This restaurant will make a nice date night destination. Overall, we weren't disappointed, but we also weren't impressed enough to say that we'd return. Came across on social media and wanted to immediately try as I am constantly looking for a good seafood boil place. Capt Loui's sauce/seasoning was very buttery and it was pretty flavorful. But what didn't meet my expectations was the seafood. It didn't seem like the crabs were fresh but were previously frozen. I was disappointed by the seafood quality. I liked the service here though - they mix the bag in front of you so that we can see that sauce is mixed well and they roll up the bag to open for you nicely which was a nice touch. Have eaten at a number of places like Capt'n Loui but never experienced shrimp that was black (see photo). Requested a discount (not full refund) and manager offered a free dessert only. Although they said it's harmless it def makes you question the freshness of the shrimp. Service was subpar- wasn't really busy. Found this place on Yelp for good oysters . They recently opened up. The vibe is so real as soon as you walk in. It was early dinner time so the place was empty. Our server was so kind and helpful. 1 out of 5 and that's being generous while eating the crawfish I just had. Bugs were boiled in water and tossed in their house sauce. If you're going to take this mega short cut while boiling your sauce has to banging! No seasoning inside the shell what's so ever. Meat as white as can be.
