We've been eating out a lot this past month and have had high and low experiences. Some very pleasant ones have been from chain restaurants. We were in Coppell for an appointment and I had a craving for a blooming onion. This led us to this Outback in Lewisville, about 20 miles from our neighborhood. Well our lunch was such a delight at this location that it will be worth the drive. We immediately ordered that blooming onion which was cooked perfectly and served hot. It was a thing of beauty and a thousand times better than onion rings. Also Outback has some great lunch specials which we've had before. There is a 3 course special that starts at $14.99 but you really get 4 items because the entree comes with a side. Try and find that amount of food at those prices anywhere. And we easily have leftovers which we love and will be having for breakfast today. My husband and I had exactly the same order - blooming onion burger with a side of baked potato soup with a salad course of blue cheese pecan salad for an up charge (worth every penny) and a dessert of cheesecake. OMG everything was hot and delicious! All items were plated with great care. You might think I'm silly in pointing that out but plating shows somebody (kitchen, management) is paying attention to details and that this restaurant cares about the little (really not so little) things and customer experience. The large serving of the fantastic blue cheese pecan chopped salad was plated in a clear glass bowl with perfectly distributed blue cheese crumbles and salad placed carefully as to not look sloppy. And our server, Bianca, was a superstar! She answered every question with authority and patience. She was a treasure offering suggestions. You know the secret to eating out without breaking the bank is "how to work the menu". I am delighted that there are social media influencers who post exactly these strategies - I was just ahead of my time. Speaking of value, you can get a take home dish for about $10! If I hadn't had so many leftovers I definitely would do this. What a nice surprise. As usual the restaurant is comfortable and they probably have the largest booths anywhere. I know it's a funny thing to mention but we were just at a good burger place, Dairyette, where we were stuffed into a booth which diminished our experience. Two stars and I'm being generous. My family went to Texas Roadhouse tonight to celebrate my son coming home from being gone in the Army in Germany for 3 years. They brought the salads to the wrong table, but the server was able to catch the error quickly, and we were able to get our salads timely. When the main meal came, there was once again a mixup, but this server insisted he had the correct table and placed a plate in front of the wrong customer. The customer receiving the plate stated before he sat the plate that it was not what she ordered. We were trying to tell him that those were our orders, but he was sort of stuck, not fully understanding that there was a wrong table error. After the plate being sat at the wrong customer for a period of time, he then wanted to take it back from that customer, and place it on our table. Is there a rule that states that once you firmly place a plate with the wrong customer that you cannot remove it and give it to someone else? If not, there should be. We, of course, refused the plate that was sitting so long at the wrong table, and asked for a fresh plate. We didn't receive the new plate until well after everyone at the table was finished eating their meals. The waitress went scarce, so we had to get our own to go containers, the table was full of dishes. Needless to say, the celebration was less than what we hoped for. The manager came by, and I asked about comping the late meal, as she had no clue of what was going on nor did she seem to care. I won't go back for a while. Service was good, the place was clean, but the quality of the steak was poor. My wife had the sirloin, and I had a NY strip. Both steaks were so chewy and hard to cut I was shocked, I couldn't imagine it was even Select grade, but maybe it was. We were only one of two couples there, my steak arrived cold, and we didn't get bread on the table until we were half way through our meal. The flavor was not good either, very undersalted. The salad was good, and so was my wife's potato, so there's that I guess. If you're a vegetarian maybe this steakhouse is for you. read more

The dining experience here is not what you would normally find at a chain restaurant. From the moment you are greeted, to the service during your meal, to the manager actively engaging with his guests, this experience blew me away. Came in for dinner with my girl. Restaurant was clean and we were greeted instantly. The staff were attentive and polite. The food was the most disappointing thing. We started with some fried mushrooms which alone were delicious but the ranch dressing was bland. We both ordered the Delmonico ribeye steak. I had salad and baked potato and she had rice and broccoli. My potato tasted like it was microwaved. Hard and chewy on the outside and rocket hot in the middle. The salad was just mid. Her rice was good but the broccoli was definitely microwaved. Now my steak was cooked perfectly and the quality of the beef was good however whatever seasoning they put on it was very off putting. I ate maybe a fourth and wrapped up my steak so I could fix it at home. This meal cost me over $100. This is the last time I will ever come back. I only came because my girl insisted. I hate to leave negative reviews but I have had far too many issues with this location. Unfortunately, every time i've ordered pickup from here, something is always missing. Outback is not the most expensive in the realm of steakhouses but it is certainly not cheap. Having to pay about $50+ on food to find it incomplete is utterly disappointing. This last visit I ordered the "cheese fries" among others which comes with bacon bits and this is what I received upon returning home. I will let you all be the judge. I know dining in is different from picking up but i would expect the same thoroughness in making/checking orders as we usually do not have the luxury of time to come back to the restaurant to fix the mistake. I hadn't been here in a while but my family and I decided to go on a Friday night. There was no wait, seated immediately, which was a nice surprise. The entire staff was excellent, superb service! Walking in its quite slow, not many customers, and after getting a taste of the food, i can see why, the food was obviously stove cooked, and not grilled like you'd expect from a steakhouse, so it wasn't anything special. I normally don't write negative reviews, but this experience was not good. I dined alone, waited over an hour for my plate. There were nine people eating at 2:45 in the afternoon. The only reason I got it was because I told them to bag it to go. Apparently the kitchen staff "walked out". I do not believe that because I sat near the kitchen where they could be heard laughing, joking, talking about how gross something was, broke a couple of dishes. I was then asked to pay for the food that was bagged even though I had already paid. I should have just left, but I have morals. I will be tossing it in the trash. Who knows what they did to it. Went in for dinner and sat at the Bar. The place was clean and welcoming. I went in later in the evening so there was not that many people inside. I ordered and the server was busy with drinks so he had to ask me again. I ordered the chicken on the Barbie and a salad. My salad came out fast and while I was finishing a plate of shrimp on the Barbie showed up ??? Really. Not chicken. I explained to the server that I ordered the chicken. He took the food back then the guy that took my order brought the food back out. I guess he wanted to hear me tell him he got my order wrong. He apologized and took that plate back. I did finally get my chicken and it was really good as always. I was a bit taken back by the order confusion they had here. I hope that does not happen often. Regardless the dinner was good. It had been a minute since I've been to an Outback, but my mom saw an ad for the shark drink so out of entertainment we went! I was beyond pleasantly surprised from the great atmosphere, absolutely awesome staff, and solid food! This location feels updated and was welcoming, upon entering as we were sat quickly. Looking over the menu it was nice to see the variety of options. We quickly ordered the shark drink, and received bread so that was nice. Our server was great and she was patient with us taking in the menu as well as helpful of course! Settling on the type of steaks and sides we ordered and received our salads in a timely manner proportionate to the time we got our main course which was nice... receive bread refills along the way! This was an absolute breath of fresh air compared to other popular steakhouses, from the atmosphere alone, the kindness of and genuineness of the people, and solid food! If you're coming here expecting a place with roadhouse in the name then this isn't for you and you should probably stay in your lane! Went in for a late lunch (it was almost 3pm). We were seated immediately and our server was Darren. We ordered a bloomin onion, grilled shrimp on the Barbie, and kingsland pasta. For sides we had French fries, a ceaser salad and a house salad with ranch. The two things that I have notes on are the pasta was kind of dry and the sauce wasn't something I would order again, and the steak on the dish wasn't my favorite either, I would try a new dish altogether. The second thing was the sweet tea, it tasted kind of burnt or old. Overall the meal was good - they have the best bread, the salads were fresh and tasty. The shrimp had lots of flavor and the fries were great. Darren was very friendly and kept us up to date on the progress of our food in the kitchen, we appreciated that. read more

Great Outback location! I usually don't expect much when going to Outback but was pleasantly surprised with the food and service here. Our server, Cameron was friendly, professional and just wonderful. After being a satisfied customer of our local Outback Restaurant for many years our visit last night ending our relationship at the Barbie. I ordered a 18oz Bone in Ribeye and lobster tail along with my normal must have the Bloomin Onion. All's well until my meal arrived and I looking forward to my full expectations of the .. You get what you pay for moment. Never happened. The Lobster tail was insulting. I told my server I ordered a Lobster tail not a tiger prawn. It was insulting. Picked up a to-go order, and overall was disappointed with the quality of the food. I hold Outback Steakhouse to higher standard than some chain restaurants because it's usually consistently good. I tried the Bloomin' fried chicken for the first time. It sounded really good, but it was just ok. I ordered fresh veggies with it that were so overcooked and mushy, I threw most away. *Pro Tip: Most customers who order veggies eat them for the nutritional value. I am not a regular at Outback Steakhouse by any means. Today I was reminded just why that is. Some of my co-workers wanted to go to Outback for lunch today. Our experience started out Pleasant enough being greeted at the front door as we walked in. We were seated quickly but that was where quickness stopped. We should have known what was to come by the fact that it took 7 to 8 minutes for our weight person to acknowledge that we have been set in her area. At about 20 minutes into our experience we had finally ordered our meal. There was nothing too complicated about any of our orders. We pretty much ordered straight off the menu and as the dishes came. It took another 22 minutes for us to actually get our food. So add it up if you will from entering the restaurant to being served we are at 42 minutes. By the temperature of our food it was pretty obvious that the kitchen had had it ready no less than 10 minutes before it was delivered to our table. My steak was pretty much room temperature and my lobster tail was actually cold. It was overall a pretty poor experience and one I will not repeat. read more

First off, it really does make a difference between locations of a chain restaurant as they all have different managers etc. The location near me has fallen down a notch, so I came to the Lewisville location where I know this guy ran the one closer for a few years and it was excellent. I drove the 17 miles and here I was greeted, seated at my usual spot ( same layouts) and quickly asked the drink order. We were taking a friend out for her birthday. I always only get the prime rib! Now, other locations, well the one by me no longer serms to understand what and how prime rib is normally served......the Lewisville location did understand. Rare to med-rare!!!! Came out prrfect, everyones meals were perfect! The attentiveness of the staff, including the manager that walked around was very nice. These folks care about their patrons! Even though the manager I know was not in, I can see his influence as the one closer to me use to be run this way. Again, 2/12/2024 @ 6pm we had an awesome visit and even though it was a 17 mike drive, we will be coming back!!!! read more

Went in for lunch last week. Sat down at the bar and had a nice salad. Before that I wanted to wash my hands and went into the bathroom. Accidentally walked in on a nice lady cleaning the sinks. She walked out so I could clean up but lift her cleaning supplies there. In the second handwashing sink was the toilet scrubber from out of the stall. Was absolutely shocked by this and checked the stall and sure enough the toilet scrubbing brush was missing. I find this to be disgusting so sent someone at corporate an email no reply obviously. Looking for a decent steak while in Lewisville. Outback was always a good choice when I lived in So Cal. The friendly staff seated us right away. We noticed several specials and the price was excellent. We ordered a couple steak items off the menu and enjoyed every bite. The steak was good but we have had better at other Outback locations. Well once again yesterday Friday the 15th, we stopped in around 7 PM for dinner. No crowds no wait, and all of the Hoops were on all of the TVs. Once again the place was full with no wait and the food once again was just wonderful. I had the sirloin steak package which included Cheese Cake salad and a baked potato. The steak was medium rare and so tender. My girlfriend had Alice's Chicken, sweet potato, and Brussels sprouts which she said were to die for(her words) not mine. To be able to hit a restaurant on a Friday without reservations, no wait, excellent food, and first-class wait staff, and then to have enough left over for lunch today was amazing. We had forgotten many years ago we used to frequent this place before they put all of the new restaurants in Flower Mound. Again excellent value and service. read more

This restaurant is the WORST Outback facility. Stay far away. The "owner" of that particular restaurant is extremely cocky and arrogant. I have NeVER experienced this type of "service" ever!! Half of the food was missing. What was delivered was cold. We ordered through Door Dash and the"owner" said it was Door Dashes fault and not his. He would not replace the cold food. He would not give us the food that we did not receive. He said he would gladly ring up a new order of $101 through him to pay or we could pay again $101 to Door Dash. First, how is it Door Dashes fault when they do not make the order. Second, if it was my store or if I was even an employee of the store or even a bystander decent human being, I would make the order right. Apologize and make sure that my customer was happy. When I told the "owner" that I was going to send a complaint to corporate office, he told me to go ahead. All that would happen is that they would get the complaint in corporate and corporate would send it back to him. That either way, he was the person that I had to go through. It is Father's Day, by the way. We waited for over an hour for the delivery of our food. The "owner" was the most cocky and arrogant that I have ever met. Disgusting. To top it off, I was put on hold by Melissa when I called Outback. She did not even tell me she was putting me on Hold. Then 11 minutes later, another person Rob, picked up and put me on hold again to get the manager. Meanwhile, I drove to the restaurant, which is when I was able to meet the "owner" and I showed him that I was still on hold! It did not phase him that I was on hold that long and still holding. I was on hold for at least 18 minutes by the time I walked into the restaurant with the very cold food! STAY FAR AWAY from this place. Horrible!!! read more
