This is one of my top 3 places for lobster rolls depending on where I am (Boston is a place in Fanueil Hall, along the east coast north is the Lobster Pound, and now here north of Boston on 114). Went yesterday for my first time and it will not be my last! It was the best and freshest cold lobster roll I have ever eaten. The roll which I usually never eat was so good I ate the whole thing...the man tending the business was short on help but made it a wonderful experience. I was excited to try this place. The area is cute with a variety of seating areas and fire pits. The staff in the truck was very nice but the food left a lot to be desired. Staff 4* Shrimp 3* were on the smaller side and a bit chewy Scallops 1* these were not good. I think they were actually bad as they tasted metallic Haddock 4* the haddock was excellent. I wish I had just ordered this. It was a nice large piece that flaked nicely and was very fresh. Tarter Sauce 4* Onion Rings 3.5* they had a nice flavor and were crispy. Some were over battered Fries 2* if they were cooked a little longer and crispy they would have been great. The seafood on top really made these mushy. Quite possibly one of the best lobster rolls in all of New England! I prefer mine cold, and Salty's offers both. The cold roll is served in a toasted bun with shredded lettuce and scallions. It had just enough mayo and the lobster meat itself was to die for... literally melt in your mouth good! Our party split two orders each of the French fries and onions rings, and they were piping hot and so fresh. The onion rings were also probably the best I've ever had! Absolutely zero complaints about Salty's Lobster Shack. I'd been wanting to try it for a few weeks and finally stopped in and was actually quite surprised to see several other food trucks and a nice picnic area set up. I had one goal in mind - Salty's lobster roll so I didn't try the other trucks but they appeared to be permanent and had a great variety of foods. Next visit! Salty's has a great menu. Plenty of seafood to choose from and the prices are more than fair. I ended up trying the lobster tater tots - so good! Tons of big pieces of lobster and really filling. Also got a stuffed quahog. Very interesting and huge (perhaps not for me but my dining partner loved it). And the star of the show, of course, was the lobster roll. It appeared small but really it's just a smaller roll and it's stuffed with lobster meat. I mean stuffed - like just tons of yummy lobster meat, including huge claws, with celery and mayo on a toasted roll. Drooling thinking about it. Went back to Salty's and love the new setup with other trucks... now there is something for everyone! Yay! The food was killer yet again. $29 per roll July '21, which everyone will agree is a lot, but this is a wonderful roll and worth every bite. Lobster is in the expensive side right now. My friend and I got 1 cold and 1 hot, plus onion rings and lobster tots. The tots were fabulous and $16. The onion rings ($8) were great, but not special enough to order again. We couldn't eat it all and the tots were better. Still no beer, but we BYOB and nobody said anything. I just can't have a water with my lobster roll. Duh. read more

Absolutely do not miss this place! This is such a cool spot! My fiancé and I lamented on how friendly the service was, and noticed how the staff greeted every single person and made them feel welcome. The ambiance is great, with a fire place, twinkle lights, and lobster shaped chairs. The lobster roll and fries were 10/10. The fish here is always fresh. The lobster panini is a great way to sample the lobster bisque as well! The fish plates offer nice portions with a light batter that isn't heavily seasoned, it's actually kid friendly. The staff is friendly and the dining area is pretty clean. read more

Heard about Saltys from a friend during a coffee hour, so a number of us headed over to pick up lobster rolls. Absolutely the best lobster rolls we've ever had anywhere in New England !!!!! I ordered their cold lobster roll Which came served in a perfectly toasted hotdog roll, with a mound (had to be 3/4 to a pound) of the sweetest, freshest chunks of lobster meat, with diced scallions, perfect seasoning, and a light touch of mayonnaise. We also ordered a side of their beer battered onion rings, which were also the best we've had anywhere! This was our first Salty's visit and it was excellent! The lobster roll was HUGE, tons of lovely claw meat! The scallops were sweet and tender and the beer batter onion rings and potato wedges were so yummy! This place is the real deal. The food is excellent, and as some other reviews have mentioned, the service is top notch. Everyone is very friendly and passionate about the food they serve. I had the opportunity to try their seafood chowder and it was the best chowder of my life. I wanted to bring some on my flight home for my family, but they were honest and upfront about how it may not survive the trip. Even though I live in another state, I feel like I have to fly into Boston, rent a car, and drive up to Middleton just to have the chowder again. We arrived with a group of about 30 to celebrate Grampa's 88th Birthday. Unfortunately Salty's had run out of lobster and closed up for the weekend. The kind gentlemen cleaning up allowed us to stay and set up at their tables to spend some time with Grampa. Stumbled upon this gem today and was not disappointed!! This place is amazing and unique. A food truck, picnic tables with umbrellas, Wikid cool lobster Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. Atmosphere was great, casual chill with perfect summer island vibe music. It's clearly family owned, there were a couple women keeping things tidy and some younger kids doing bus boy type jobs. The guys working the truck were super friendly. Their card machine was down and they felt so bad, but it's not an issue there is an atm across the street and it is worth it to get the cash for this place!! Loved that they have the option for the lobster roll to be cold or hot, I'm a cold lobster fan so I was pumped for that. The thing was HUGE packed with tons of lobster and absolutely delicious!! My husband got the lobster panini and loved it. Kids meals are priced right and still a large portion of food. Onion rings were 10/10. Didn't get any pics of the food because we gobbled it up so fast. Only thing missing was a nice cold beer, would be cool if they could get licensed or even allow BYOB like some places do.
