Salty's is near where we live and we decided to go there on a whim today for lunch. Food was adequate. We started with the onion rings and big pretzel. Husband had the Shepherds Pie, I had the chicken special, son had wings. Everything came out quick and was... adequate. Wings - if they had cooked them for an extra minute or two, they would have been really good because they would have gotten a bit crispy. The things that we just couldn't get past - the flies. Flies everywhere. And tiny forks. I mean forks for 5 year olds. I get that it's a bar, but at least deal with the fly issue and give me grown up utensils. read more

They used to have a Cuban sandwich on the menu but one day I went there and it was no longer available so I tried the Reuben sandwich instead. Wow! It is the best Reuben that I have ever had. They have excellent entertainment, great service, and a wonderful clientele. We always have a great time at Salty's. I recommend sitting outside where you can enjoy the music and it isn't as noisy as inside. They have a roof outside so it is nice even in the summer. Hats off to Salty's! read more

It was my first time visiting, after having driven past loads of times. I decided to try an Irish classic off the menu - cottage pie. How can you get it wrong you ask? It is just ground meat, veggies and potatoes. WRONG. It is all of the aforementioned with a too thick layer of cheese. But surely it was mentioned on the menu you say, wrong again. In these changing times, customers expect transparency for different reasons, there are those who are health conscious, those who are lactose intolerant and those who just don't want their food swimming in cheese. Had the cheese been listed on the menu, I could have asked for it without cheese or simply chosen something else. I also did not notice any vegetarian or vegan options, I always judge a restaurant by their vegetarian options. If you sit on the patio, take something to cover your drink with. The patio was swarming with flies. There are fans, but they were not oscillating or strong enough. I will say though that the service was pleasant and Stella Artois was served in a Stella glass. Fun place to go and listen to a band. Great place to meet up with friends. I love that we can sit outside and relax. (There's plenty of shade on the patio and under the tent) They have a good menu. The servings are large and the food is very good. We've always had good service too. There are activities during the week like trivia night and others on special weekends. I've have attended a dueling pianos event and went to listen to a live band on another night in the past 3 months. This last visit on 10/14/22 we found by observation that both bathrooms were closed due to "not working". They had (and may still have) 2 portalets in the parking lot for customers and employees to use - and NO hand wash stations. We were not told this when we arrived, or seated or even after our food orders were taken. We would not have not stayed if we were informed upon arrival. Also they have a limited menu whenever live music or a special event occurs. The majority of the menu is fried. We ordered chicken nachos - we asked our server if they were good and she said yes. They were cold and were awful, we didnt finish. The beverage service was good - they kept the drinks flowing, but we will not return for the other reasons listed above. read more

We had a good experience here the other night. Great food. Lots of selection. Betty are bartender gets 5 Stars. As does the muscular guy behind the bar as well. Excellent service. I was a little disappointed in the roughness of the crowd. Which is not the managers fault. But it does speak to patrons. While sitting at the bar with my husband, a guy standing behind me bumped into me a few times. He never acknowledged it. Just kept drinking his beer with his buddy. It was so awkward getting jabbed like that. I finally got up and moved a stool down. But my gosh what a jerk ! Then while sitting at the bar eating a women comes up beside me and ordered 3 drinks. That's cool , but she's squeezing between me and the guy next to me. My hair actually went in her drink. Gross! Worse for her, but she didn't even care. Lots of drunks and pushy people. All in raggedy shorts n flip flops. Very very casual place kinda like McDonald's. Such a shame BC it looks like it could be so much better. They had live music that looked really good. I was in Apollo Beach recently and we decided to try the Salty Shamrock Gastro Grille. This space has been so many restaurants over the years. I believe it just recently reopened as the Salty Shamrock earlier this year. For a Sunday evening, there was a pretty good crowd on the patio and in the restaurant itself. We were lucky because a monsoon began right as we walked in. We sat at the bar and our server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a Cosmo, which was refreshing after trying several beers at a local brewery. We ordered the Chicharrone Sliders and the Fresh Fish Tacos. The sliders were a bit dry. I would suggest maybe serving them with Chorizo instead of the chicken for added flavor. The Fish Tacos were good. This restaurant is a great addition to Apollo Beach. It offers a very diverse menu and they run many specials on various days. They offer a 15% discount starting on 8 PM on Sunday and all day Monday for Military, First Responders, Educators, Service Industry, and Medical Staff. They also serve breakfast on weekends that looks tasty. If I am in the neighborhood, I will stop here again and try some of their other dishes. read more

Really scary experience. Our server and the manager working with their noses exposed and at the end of our meal our servicer came to our table TOTALLY unmasked. When we mentioned this to her she said "We're in phase three now and we're looking at DROPPING OUR MASKS ALTOGETHER. WTF??? To be fair, some of the staff was masked properly but again the manager had her nose exposed. We will not be going there again. read more

Our bill was $75 for: -An order of Celtic egg rolls that were oozing with oil and not enjoyable. -Chicago style roast beef sandwich that was on a stale hoagie and too spicy to eat (coming from my spice-aholic husband) -Cajun Po Boy that too was on a stale hoagie and only had 5 small shrimp. Both our meals came with fries. Definitely frozen. Came out soggy with no seasoning or salt. -kids Mac n cheese was definitely Kraft. Bland. But yet the side veggies had so much pepper on them, they were inedible. -a super watery drink the call Mermaid Water..which is just a pina colda with extra ice -2 draft beers The only saving grace was the waitress, who was very sweet. We heard the menu had changed, so we decided to try it out. For an appetizer, we had the pork belly over polenta. The taste was there, but the pork belly was a bit on the tough side, it just needed longer to cook, but the polenta was really good! For our meal, I saw my all time favorite on the menu... Short ribs! They tasted great, however, again, I'd say they needed at least another hour to achieve that "fall apart" stage. If they had more cooking time, they'd be almost perfect.
