We have lived here for two years and have passed this restaurant quite a few times going to or from somewhere and finally stopped to eat. It was a Friday evening, so we were prepared to go somewhere else if it was too busy. Fortunately, we were seated right away. The service was efficient but friendly. We had cocktails that were all good and arrived quickly. For an appetizer, we had the fried pickles that were thin strips rather than spears or nickles with a nice Southwest ranch. Then we tried the Irish specialties, Bangers & Mash with delicious stout gravy, fish and chips, and the St Patty's Poutine with shredded corned beef, cheese curds and more of the stout gravy over fries. We enjoyed all the food. Some people near us had the burgers which also looked good. My daughter used the restroom and said it was acceptable, but not good for a bar. Let me start by saying this is not 4 star fine dining. This is 4 star bar food. If you live in the area or are just passing through, I would definitely say try the Salty Shamrock for some good bar food and great entertainment. So far we have been twice and have really enjoyed ourselves. My favorites are the 1pound Cajun peel and eat shrimp and the Celtic Eggrolls. Shrimp are always cooked perfectly and have a good spiced flavor. The Celtic Eggrolls are like the perfect Rubin in a wonton skin. My wife loves the chicken tenders and fries. Real chicken breast not processed chicken. The drinks are really good, (love the Mira Bay Margarita) and the live music is always great. It really is just a simple place with good food, good music and a relaxed atmosphere. read more

When we arrived at the salty Shamrock, there is ample parking and being disabled. I was very happy to see the tables are clean, empty how many label to get quick seating. We were greeted by a hostess with menus, and after a few minutes of Sarah Cameron. She was absolutely lovely and a lot of fun. We put our drink order in And our appetizers. Friendsgot the trashcan nachos chips lol and my wife and I got a huge soft pretzel with double beer cheese. The manager Age when I drink to the table and we had a great discussion but he was very open about the ovens in the back working properly to get the Giant pretzel. The trashcan just came first or my goodness what a huge amount. And then the pretzel came out. Nice and hot. Really hot delicious beer cheese. The drinks were wonderful and the staff couldn't be more pleasant. We had a great country band that was out of this world. Gorgeous night to sit out under the stars listen to the music drink and be happy. We did have a brief five minute drizzle of showers that passed us and said goodbye. The manager, Ogie/owner is absolutely hysterical with his people, skills and professionalism. Being a bar and restaurant on fisherman a lot of credit you made things ready for people. Make sure everybody was happy. The only comment I do have is the women's bathroom inside needs to be updated. and enlarged. They were 12 girls online we need to pee men's room is kind of empty so the woman were using the men's stall which was fine by me. Would highly recommend that their sanitation company bringing the trailer with six beautiful Porta potty is attached to it that has lighting with the Handicap van.. I had a problem here yesterday for st paddy's. My server was brandy, she was amazing. She informed me about all the specials. Unfortunately, I got the chicken tender platter and they were not fully cooked. It tasted very cold and rubber. They also charged me a dollar for an extra sauce which I thought was completely absurd. There were zero drink specials. I wanted to speak to a manager about this so I believe her name was Tery, she came over and was extremely rude. She barely acknowledged what I was saying or complaining about. She didn't care that I wasn't a happy guest. I will never be back as I felt this was extremely disrespectful and disappointing. I am a huge foodie and love going out so I will never ever be back. Absolutely terrible manager. read more

We went to Salty Shamrock to enjoy a live band and a cold beer. We grabbed 2 Guinness from the bar then walked out to find a seat. There was an open table on the patio. We sat down with our beers. A waitress immediately came over and told us we couldn't sit there because we didn't order food. Thought this was a BAR! We were escorted off the patio like criminals. Rude and embarrassing. Determined to salvage our outing, we found seats at the bar. The table we were forced to leave remained EMPTY the entire time we were there. My black and tan was sad. No separation. Guess it's hard to serve a proper pint in a plastic cup. Overall not impressed. The only positive I can offer is that the bartenders were great. Attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was good, but the food was mediocre at best. I had the corned beef sandwich, with quite possibly the least amount of corned beef required to be considered a sandwich. Maybe I'm used to the NY Deli style sandwich size (piled high) but this was almost nothing. The deep fried, crusty fries were not good at all. The $18 Shepherds Pie (Cottage Pie) was very small, and came without any side like a veggie, or a piece of bread. The wooden board that it was served on was designed to have something (like bread, or a roll) and butter, so it was odd that it was empty. To be honest though, the biggest gripe (admittedly it sounds petty) is that the honey mustard sauce for the order of chicken strips was .75 extra. This was not for 'extra' sauce, mind you, but for the one that (assumedly) came with the dish. Lastly, and the deal breaker for me was that I was charged an extra 1.72 "credit card processing fee" to pay my bill with my debit card. A total turn off and all in all, I will neither go back, nor can I recommend it. I can afford to go out to eat, but if you're going to nickel and dime me, I'll never return. read more

Although this was a usual stop it had begun a spiral down. The wait staff seem to wear whatever they like and some need guidance. The food has lost its appeal and is not as good as it used to be. What a weird experience. Went there looking for trivia night. No problems with the food and drinks but really surprised by the number of children there. This is not a restaurant, it is a dive bar that happens to serve decent food. I don't know how someone can brink kids into this environment with loud hard rock music and the language that was thrown around during trivia was not child friendly at all. If I'm going out drinking I really don't want to deal with someone's screaming toddler. If you are okay with hanging out drinking with kids then this is the place for you. read more

On our way home from the beach we stopped here. Judging by the large outdoor stage it seems like it's probably a hopping place when the bands are playing. There was a party while we were there and a random drunk woman sat uninvited at our table for awhile‍. The hot shrimp appetizer was delicious, my husband raved about the Reuben. The shepherds pie was all beef, so really a cottage pie, it was very watery and bland but the garlic bread was fabulous. The fish and chips was just ok. The batter had no taste and the chips were steak fries plus the coleslaw was a one forkful and no more side as the flavor was unappealing. As a bar it seemed like a fun place, as a restaurant I think I'd stick with the appetizers. read more

I have been here a few times over the years and just went back after maybe 8 months or so. They have really changed things. The place looks really nice! They rearranged the seating. There's so much room. They host these events that have local vendors or supporting great causes. We had servers change a couple of time but all were very nice. This last time I ordered fries and Guinness gravy. It was so good! I will definitely be returning. If you are looking for some good music drinks and good food definitely check them out! read more

Came here to drink out on the patio and listen to live music with my family. Amazing customer service and great entertainment. Unfortunately we weren't that hungry so we ordered appetizers to munch on while we drink. Holly was our server and she was definitely the best server I've experienced so far in Florida. She was very attentive to us and our needs along with our furry little friends. She brought out water bowls for the three pups in our party to make sure they stayed hydrated in this Florida heat. We ordered the Mac and cheese appetizer which comes topped with bacon and more cheese. The cheese sauce was seriously one of the best sauces I've ever tried. It was the perfect amount of creaminess with a nice blend of flavors. We wanted to kick it up a notch with one of the appetizers and we added some brisket to it as well because we heard good things from people around us about their brisket. Another thing we ordered was an order of house fries which was delicious to munch on while drinking some booze. Perfect crunch on the outside and soft in the inside. I think these fries were a house special for the holiday because they look like big curly pieces of a big potato. Definitely going to try this place again for lunch or dinner! Have driven by this place several times, decided to check it out. Lots of outdoor seating with 2 different stages for bands, limited indoor seating. Several tv's surround the inside are, so a good place for beer and sports. Great alcohol selection for drinks and cold beer. My wife had the fish and chips while I had a smash burger topped with brisket and fries. Service was excellent and the food was fresh and delicious. This little gem of an Irish Bar will definitely be in our rotation of places to enjoy. read more

Maybe St. Patrick's Day wasn't the best time to go here! They charged $10 for the live music, which was fine. Most of the thousands of customers were parked throughout the surrounding landscaping due to no planned parking for the event. Seating outside took more than an hour, at shared picnic tables, with little to no idea of who ordered what. Once food arrived, nothing was of great quality. The fish and chips was spotty. The fish was hot but quite fishy in flavor. The accompanying fries were cold. The Rueben was beautiful but cold. Luckily that was tasty but the fries were cold and inedible. All in all, the servers were friendly but not sure what to do. I never got water but charged for it. The Guinness was good! read more

St Patrick's Day visit wasn't stellar. Paid $10 cover but kept getting hassled when grabbing a seat when someone would leave. Ridiculous that owners would have some goofy "reserve a seat" policy on a day when they were overwhelmed by the number of patrons...and then expect the waitresses to enforce it. Especially when tables sat completely empty for half an hour or more. Beers were good, bar service took forever. Irish bands were GREAT but then some country music guy headlined in the evening. He was decent but country music is a no-go for a St Paddy's Day celebration. Didn't order food but the corned beef meal looked good. Insufficient parking but we were ok parking a few blocks away. read more

Fun drinking place with mediocre food. They didn't have the peel & eat shrimp the night we were there so the waitress suggested the lightly dusted Key West Shrimp ($13.). It was five pieces of HEAVILY battered shrimp that were delicious once the goop fell off. My partner ordered the fish & chips($16.) and said it was delicious but sparse. "Bury the Bike" fundraiser nov 27 benefiting a number of South County charities including the Sylvia Thomas Center (who have been providing amazing post adoption support in Hillsborough County for 20 years) Anyway, Cold beer, good bar food and music from Soul Circus Cowboys amping it up in the open air music venue. Great event. Wait staff all wearing masks (if only 10% of standing patrons) , key west shrimp were huge, Panko battered fried but maybe too much "boom boom" sauce (bonefish And pinchers have the same sauce, this has more kick) .
