Dishes I tried: *oysters - I'm not a huge oyster fan to begin with so I'm biased; they were okay but kind of small. *fried calamari - really good in the way any fried food can be! *seafood Neptune - a platter of scallops, cod, salmon, mushrooms, potato cake, and broccolini, covered in a lobster sherry creme and vinaigrette. Also good, but not sure if everything only tasted good because the buttery sauce or because of the seafood itself *chowder - good especially with the crab! Overall the food itself was pretty good (you'll notice my adjectives remain limited to "good" because it's satisfying in a very normal way), BUT the prices are $$$ and with that extra dollar sign in there I kind of expect to feel like I'm getting a fine dining experience (or to obviously taste the difference in quality of the seafood). Someone else pointed it out in their review but I agree that it's weird that the tables are literally covered with butcher paper (it's not like Boiling Crab where we eat straight on the table). I would say to go only because it's a staple of Federal Way, but I probably won't go back.

Salmon & Best Fish and chips ever! And we had fish and chips before from Gordon Ramsey, but not as good as the one from Salty's.

I looked here and on Google to decide where to have our last meal during our weekend escapade in Seattle. Was a non planned trip. The reasons changed and it became a sighting and adventurous weekend. And with such a positive vibe I wanted good seafood for my BF. He deserved an amazing place. So after the great reviews here I decided to see for myself (well, I said I hope is that good. But it was even better) The view, The Menu, The Location and an amazing waiter OKA, He made our visit memorable. I'm so happy I can't wait to go back. It's a perfect spot to celebrate any important event in your life. The food, the staff even for 2 Iowans residents like us without a clue of what to do, this was an awesome experience. I totally recommend to those seafood experts or clueless like us. I'm very grateful of a magnificent experience that only could get better with an special bonus, a rainbow for some epic pictures on front of such wonderful view. Totally recommend this spot! Won't disappoint.

I love, love, loved the setting at Salty's going as soon as I dropped my belongings off at a nearby hotel. I wanted to get something local, and seafood, and with an amazing view as a bonus of Poverty Bay. Salty's didn't disappoint! Pricing was a bit steep, but the Dungeness Crab Cocktail was delicious! I opted to pair the appetizer with a side salad and their sherry vinaigrette, which was also yummy. If you find yourself in Redondo Beach, it's definitely a worth a stop!

GREAT VIEW! The view can make up for alot! We've visited Salty's many times, and have always had a good experience. Our most recent visit was an anomaly, so I won't hate on this review. I love sitting outside on a sunny day, sipping drinks and hanging out. They have great happy hour eats, oyster shooters, clam chowder & more, I have a few go-to's when I visit, the Coconut Prawns as an appetizer and the Blackened Steelhead Caesar. The Caesar is served with candied pecans and it's lots of YUM! My most recent visit was to celebrate a birthday, and for alot of reasons, it took us hours to get through our meal. I still enjoyed our meal & the view is phenomenal.

We came to celebrate my mother's birthday, which I told them about when making the reservation for Sunday brunch. Even though we had reservations we still had to wait 30 minutes. Our server, Blake, was unfriendly and inattentive. Never once did he smile. I had to ask for our plates to be cleared numerous times, had to ask for more water and even refilled the waters myself. Ordered a crepe with the busser because Blake did not come by our table. It took a really long time and had to ask about the crepe. When it finally arrived it was slimy and terrible. When we left there was no "thank you". Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant.

I rate this 5 stars solely because we had such a great experience with our server Brad! He made the experience super enjoyable! He had a delightful personality, very funny and patient (I happen to be very indecisive and confused) I would 10000% recommend dining with him, he is a delight! I would honestly come back just to dine with him again. We went here for mid-week brunch, just had a whole bottle of wine and some cute appetizers. They were pretty delicious. We ordered 1 lb of Manila Clams, The Salty's Trio, and the Crab Mac & Cheese. The Manila Clams were good, they weren't the best but they didn't disappoint. The Saltys trio was a nice sized platter of coconut crushed shrimp, calamari, and crab cake. The crab cake was really good! All the sauces were also complimentary! The mac & cheese was more of an alfredo? They used penne noodles and the sauce was more alfredo than mac & cheese. Despite the specifics, it was soooo good! Overall, loved the experience.

If you're a fan of buffet style brunch, don't miss this one! You'll find all of your favorites, including excellent bacon, ham, biscuits & sausage gravy, mini waffles, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, etc., you can also order crepes and omelettes from the menu, but the star of the show is the crab table! Mountains of fresh local dungeness and snow crab legs, oysters on the half shell, peel & eat shrimp and ceviche. If you've got room for dessert, (and why wouldn't you), you'll love the chocolate fountain, fresh creme brûlée and other a plethora other delectables. You can't beat the setting, literally on the water, with an unbelievable view of the Sound, Vashon Island and the Olympics. The service was spot on, too. Our server did an amazing job, making sure we had everything we needed, including some damned good mimosas and bloody marys. Really everyone we encountered seemed to have a passion for customer service. For $45/pp, I'd expect nothing less, but they exceeded my expectations.

Me and Lando got a gift certificate for Salty's for Christmas and decided to finally try the brunch buffet with it and we were not disappointed! From the service to the overflowing buffet this is definitely worth the $30 all you can eat brunch on Saturday and Sundays! All the different seafood inspired breakfast items were really refreshing and very good! Basically saying I didn't try anything I didn't like ! We are going back very soon and taking our parents! Hope to see you there!

Salty's sent a shuttle van all the way to the airport Marriott to pick us up. How cool is that? It's an indicator of the great service we were to have here. From the warm welcome of the hostess to the waiter who had a starter recommendation, everyone we dealt with here at Salty's was wonderful. Great seat by the window with a view of the rocky beach. I had the calamari to start. My friends each had a bowl of the clam chowder. All were good choices - the soup looked thick and full of clams. The calamari was taty and the big pieces went well with the tangy dipping sauce. For main, I chose the seafood fettuccine. Tons of rich sauce, scallops, shrimp and cheese on this pile of perfect al dente pasta. As you can see from the picture, there was a lot of seafood going on here. Delicious. We looked at the dessert menu but nothing really took my eye. I had a glass of the sweet white wine instead. Maybe related, maybe not. Five hours later, my stomach woke me up and most of the seafood decided to return for another visit. Ick. Maybe it was just too rich for me because one of my friends had the same and he was fine. Odd. YMMV.

Wait started probably around 6pm although there were still empty tables then. They provide garnishes for your water and also provide 4 salsas/accompaniments for your meal. I got the 16 oz ribeye served on hot stones. They cooked it slightly less than what you want, so for my medium rare, they cook it rare. It also comes with chimichurri and molacete(?) which has a more refreshing flavor. They season with rosemary and even light a branch on fire for more aroma. I tried a bite of my friend's filet mignon which was good, but my preferred cut is the ribeye or NY strip. We also shared the papa loca (worth it - so good) and the cauliflower (not as good, but I'm comparing it to a version made by Cuerno, a Mexican steakhouse in NY). I had a glass of the pinot noir and the garzon, and both were good, slightly tannic and 'juicy'.

The first time I got the Wagyu tacos which were sooo good and I love the variety and flavor of the sauces. I loved how simple the taco Wagyu is as the meat is high quality For my second visit I got the Vacio Wagyu which came in a sizzling hot stone plate and it stayed hot for me to cook all of my Wagyu. It didn't really need the accompanied sauce but it was nice to have. I felt the large rock salt was a little bit nub and would make it too saucey but I found the rosemary a perfect combination with the Wagyu especially as one was cooking underneath. Excellent service as well - our server was attentive and timely. I've only gone here for lunch and we did not have to make a reservation as it was not too busy!

We sat down to sticky booths that looked like they hadn't been dusted or cleaned in years. I didn't want to lean back and let my hair touch it. That kind of a booth. Next, we ordered coffee. The server said it comes with half and half and as she was about to walk away, I remembered my friend liked milk so I said, "oh don't you prefer whole milk." The server said they serve half and half with coffee and they don't have whole milk just 2% and if we we wanted anything else she could pour water in it. Normally this banter would be fine. This wasn't banter. She was annoyed. We stuck with the half and half. We looked at the menus that were COATED with sticky stuff all over the plastic and falling apart. It looked like a studen'ts notebook after a full year in grade school. We ordered a strawberry lemonade. Normally, my daughter will drink anything. It tasted like chemicals. Since two of us ordered two different types of benedict, the server came with sharper knives. She then WIPED THEM CLEAN with a towel hanging from her pocket. 20 min. later we got our order. Well 2 of us did. Mine was the wrong item so had to send back and they had to make me the correct one. No apologies from our server. We then had to ask for a third place setting. The server got it and when my daughter was using the benedict knife, the server took it FROM HER HANDS and gave it to our friend since she was eating french toast. The food was not good. The french toast tasted like dry bread coated in eggs. In other words, it hadn't soaked up any of the batter. My benedict's hollanaise sauce was in fact, some weird cheez-it mixture... it was orange and congealed. Let me add that it was a Monday at 9:30AM. It was NOT busy. Also word of warning, DO NOT use the restrooms. Just nopity nope nope nope.
