Best beer bar this side of the Mississippi. Gets all the rarities and has a solid taplist everyday. Cool peeps in one of the best parts of town. Food is awesome too.

Salud Beer Shop, nestled in the NoDa neighborhood. This joint is a beer lover's paradise, serving up brews by the can and tap, wine, and they even have non-alcoholic options for those taking it easy. With seating for 5 at the bar and about 25 in the dining area, it's cozy, intimate, and perfect for catching up with friends or making new ones. When I strolled in, the TVs were buzzing with the excitement of the Euro soccer game, making it the ideal spot to kick back and enjoy a pint and a pizza. Parking? No worries there! Just a hop, skip, and a jump to a public parking garage that'll set you back $5 an hour. Not too shabby for NoDa. The menu at Salud is short but sweet, featuring pizza, meatballs, salads, and a couple of sandwiches. But let's be real--I came here for the pizza, based on rave reviews from the local foodies. They've got a killer weekday lunch special: a cheese, margarita, or pepperoni pizza and 4 wings for a cool $15. Can't beat that deal! They offer 11 different 12-inch wood-fired pizzas, with vegan cheese available for those plant-based pals. I asked the bartender for his top pick, and he steered me towards the "El Gordo." This pie comes loaded with house red sauce, mozzarella, a dollop of ricotta, thin slices of meatball, salami, basil leaves, EVOO, sea salt, and a drizzle of house-made hot honey. The "El Gordo" arrived fresh out of the oven, piping hot and looking like a million bucks. Each slice was a work of art, with a slice of salami, a thin slice of meatball, a dollop of ricotta, basil leaves, and a drizzle of hot honey. If I had one tiny critique, it would be that the meatball could've been a bit more generous. One small sliver per slice left me wanting more of that meaty goodness. The red sauce was on point--sweet, just the way I like it. The mozzarella was plentiful, maybe even a bit too plentiful, as it turned the crust a bit greasy and soggy. And while the hot honey was a nice touch, I wish there had been more of it to really amp up the flavor. The crust itself was on the softer side, so if you're a fan of a crispier bite, I'd recommend asking them to cook it a bit longer. All in all, Salud Beer Shop is definitely a spot I'd return to, especially with a friend to share a pie and some wings. And if you're a beer connoisseur, this place should be on your must-visit list.

The reigning champion of all bottle shops in NC ! Magically delicious food and a smorgasbord of delicious IPA's and stouts. I get very excited every time when visiting this bottle shop. 5 Stars.....

Great service. Great beer selection. Great vibes. Enjoyed my recent visit. Tried the Detroit style pizza special and got a great seasonal brew.

Amazing pizza and food! Lots of unique beers to purchase on the shelves or enjoy at the bar. Love watching the soccer games here. Patio is lovely with the breeze and picnic tables. Good place to chat with locals and peek the dog bar across the street. Upstairs is larger with games and lounge areas.

Salud Beer Shop is an award winning bottle shop and beer bar located in the NoDa neighborhood. NoDa is known as a former industrial district containing mostly textile mills, that saw rebirth as an arts district and a popular hang out for creatives. Salud captures the alternative style of NoDa very well. It has a heady atmosphere, the walls adorned with everything from soccer flags, to vintage sports and concert posters, to random knick knacks. The store is lined with many different often hard to find beers and other alcoholic beverages. You can choose to buy a bottle and enjoy it in the store, take it to go, or if you prefer to try something on tap they have a small bar area as well. Upstairs you'll find their sister concept Salud Cerveceria which I have reviewed as well. Beer isn't the only thing these two locations have though as they have some sneaky good food. Most popular are their pizzas which are generally served as personal pies, but they also have some really good sandwiches made on house focaccia including a killer spin on the meatball sub they call the Players Ball. The service here isn't hurried or fast. Most of the time the bartender is chatting with locals and regulars so don't come in here trying to rush them. This is a laid back place, great to grab some drinks with friends. If the weather is nice out the best place to be is their side patio which lies directly across from the Mercury NoDa apartments. Salud isn't a regular spot for me, but it deserves acknowledgement as a neighborhood staple, and an overall cool place to be.

I cannot rate this place high enough. Friendly service, food is great and the beer is cold. They have one of the best beer selections around. Will always return here!

Honestly, I just came here to pass the time while we waited for another bar to open up down the street. When I arrived with my friends it was VERY quiet and we kind of felt awkward when we arrived just because of how quiet it was. There was no music at all. They have a big open floor plan with plenty of seat options to choose from. From regular dining, it is tabled to a more lounge couch, sofa style. Their decorations were chic and modern, and they also had merchandise if you wanted to buy something. The only thing off about the place was that they didn't have music playing at all and it wasn't until about an Hr later when we realized they turned the music on so the vibe instantly changed after. We didn't stay too long. Just ordered a glass of wine, and that's it. I definitely would come back, though again. It seems like a cool spot to chill at if you don't feel like walking far.

Went to salad beer shop on Friday and was blown away. It has a true hole in the wall kind of ambiance, with a bar and maybe 4 tables worth of seating giving it a very close and warm vibe. The bartender was also very friendly and also acted as a waiter who was simultaneously pouring drinks, greeting customers, and grabbing pizzas. Additionally to the cool vibe, I thought the food was very good! The pizza was crispy and had some great flavors! The cheese, meat, and sauce were all superb and will definitely get another pie soon. Overall I recommend this place for pizza or a beer. They have sports on the tv and everyone is a friend in the shop.

This place has a very cool hipster vibe. It could be a bit confusing but their indoor seating area or "tap room" can be found through the door next to the main beer shop and you have to go upstairs. They do have some outdoor seating options as well. This place is in the heart of NODA with a bunch of other restaurants and bars around. They have a good amount of beer on tap as well as wine but no cocktails. Wednesdays they have a special for their wine tasting and they have a good variety of wine. I got a flight of 6 beers and I enjoyed most of them. One of the beers tasted exactly like a PB&J sandwich which I totally recommend as well as the Mexican Hot Chocolate stout. The Banana stout was really good too. We ordered food here as well. The wings were good, nothing extravagant but good wings. The clones sandwich was really yum and it came with brussels sprouts that were surprisingly delicious!

Great beer selection from all over the states. Super friendly & knowledgeable staff. Extra perk: great food! In the beer shop on the first floor, you can order an assortment of pizzas (personal fav is the humble mumble with pesto, chicken, and chile peppers), sandwiches & a killer meatball sub. Upstairs is a bakery & hopefully their brunch returns soon!

Claimin True. Disappointed with how pale the crust was. But at least it has great texture.

Ask the Community - Salud Beer Shop

We are looking for a place to watch the Rose Bowl that has Michigan fans in the mix. Is there an age requirement to enter the bar? My daughter, a Wolverine - is 20 + 9 1/2 months old.

They don't card you to enter. Probably like most breweries, they are community friendly. I have a buddy that takes his young kids (they usually are on devices doing their own thing) but I don't think he's ever had any issues.

We stopped in here for a weeknight late bite when our options were somewhat limited. Thankfully at that hour, street parking in NoDa wasn't too bad, we got a spot just off the main drag. Slices here are GIGANTIC, one is easily about 3 standard slices of pizza, or two normal NY size slices. We got a pepperoni and a cheese. The pepperoni had nice kick to them and the cheese was a high quality. You had to let the pepperoni grease drain onto your plate a bit, but that is expected. The thing that makes both slices so good is the garlic butter bath all around the crust that you can see them doing in the kitchen. Not just that, but the texture in the crust will make even non-crust lovers think again. You're basically left with big doughy garlic butter breadsticks. Definitely a 5 on taste. My only complaint, and I'm sure it is partly by design to keep people from staying long, the stools you can sit on to enjoy your pizza inside the restaurant are THE WORST I have ever placed my derrier on. Even for 15 minutes, it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was painful. It took me a couple blocks to start walking correctly again. Might as well just get rid of them and have people stand to eat. Terrible. Almost knocked a star off for it, that bad. Regardless of the world's worst stools, I would come back for more pizza and just plan on not eating it there.

The atmosphere feels very Manhattan, New York--moody R&B with the bass turned up, soft dim lighting, and intimate curtained spaces create a cozy vibe. And then there's the kale salad. After hearing all the hype, I decided my curiosity was worth risking my lactose intolerance. No regrets. In fact, if I ever had to choose a death row meal, this salad would be on the menu. It's crunchy, toasty, creamy, and brightened with just the right hint of lemon. It's an absolute must-order. And when you get to the crust of your pizza, do yourself a favor and use it to soak up every last bit of that dressing. The pizza is also very very good. Bird has developed a wonderful deep flavor of crust. It is a small cute spot inside, NYC style. Some people don't like sitting so close to other customers, but I enjoy small intimate restaurants. As for the food - pizza was delish (love that they have beef pepperoni), but the viral kale Ceasar and buttermilk ice cream on the olive oil cake stole the show. I will say review that bill well once it arrives. We saw we were overcharged for drinks, our waitress put the tab of our next door table on ours. We did go back inside before leaving to get it straightened out, and they were nice about it. Service is good but a little slow when it came to getting things like extra napkins, drinks, etc.....and I could tell some waitresses were a bit more attentive to their tables vs. others. Definitely would return, but maybe more so just to pick up a pizza at the outside window and take it back home.

The waiter was efficient, not friendly but not unfriendly either, just doing his job pretty much. Would have been nice to have him check on us once or twice but again not the biggest deal. The pizza: my son really enjoyed it and gave it a 5/5 and hubby ranked it a 3/5. He thought the crust was a tad too soggy. Side Caesar: 3/5 had some pieces of the lettuce that should have never made it in the salad and the dressing was just okay. Morty: also a 3/5. Too much arugula, we took some out and then seasoned the rest with s&p and some crushed red pepper flakes. It just lacked a depth of flavor and the bread and arugula overpowered it. The seasoning helped a bit. I even added garlic aioli based on a review I read on here but I didn't taste it. The pasta salad it came with also lacked flavor, though very green and appearing loaded with flavor it was not. And when eating it, the texture was very gummy. Didn't finish that. Overall, it was okay but I'm not likely to return just because there are better options based on the things we tried. But taste is subjective and it just wasn't our vibe today. But check it out for yourself because we only tried three things and the pictures of the other pizzas do look amazing. That is all!

Review for Pizza Baby…read more After a relaxing Vinyasa yoga class and sound bath at The Coterie Wellness one evening, I found myself hungry--and conveniently, Pizza Baby had just opened in the same complex. Perfect timing. Since it was still new, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and I decided to grab a table outside. The outdoor seating was lovely--relaxed, comfortable, and a great way to unwind after a wellness session. I'm a sucker for thin-crust pizza, especially when it's hand-tossed and thoughtfully prepared, so one item immediately caught my eye: the rosemary pizza with hot honey. Sold. I added Italian sausage to the pizza and paired it with a fresh green salad (I can never resist a good Green Goddess dressing). Yes, it was a little on the pricey side, but the quality matched the cost--and I was genuinely pleased with my choices. The crust was thin and flavorful, the toppings were balanced, and the hot honey added just the right touch of sweetness and heat. This is definitely a place I'd return to--next time with friends--so we can share a few different pizzas and appetizers and really explore the menu. A few practical notes: * Parking is generally easy since the restaurant shares a lot with neighboring businesses in the complex * There are several nearby spots, including a wine bar and entertainment venues, which make the area feel lively * There was some early parking congestion when a nearby church held services, but the situation has since been addressed with signage and coordinated parking solutions It's nice to see businesses and community partners working together to make things run smoothly. There's also another location of Pizza Baby that I plan to visit, which speaks to how positive my first experience was. Bottom line: Great thin-crust pizza, pleasant outdoor seating, and a convenient stop after yoga or an evening out. A solid addition to Charlotte's growing food scene--and absolutely worth checking out. And if you're already in the area for a class or wellness session, it makes for the perfect post-workout reward.
