Always a phenomenal time! Ive been once before for a girlfriends private event she had hosted in the event space and the past two weeks Ive been for Survey Says (every Thursday)! Their kegs have been kicked for the two weeks Ive been here, leaving draft options VERY limited (not a huge selection to begin from) and just a few can/bottled options. I loved seaboard! I live within walking distance and I can't believe it has taken me close to a year to go for the first time. As someone who is very picky about pizza I was pleasantly surprised on how good it was. The crust was very flavorful and both our pizzas hit the spot! I always crave a good buffalo chicken pizza and I think this will be where I come! Also I was not expecting the drink prices to be so reasonable. I usually order the aperol spritz and it is so good. Interesting spot. This place has so much space and is in a great location however for some reason it was not busy. We were there on a Saturday night around 7 so I expected it to be busier. The ambience is modern, fun and very spacious with lots of seating selections. The August drink deals were unbeatable and the DJ added to the experience. We came during game 5 of the NBA playoffs, service was horrendous. We sat at the bar before the game started and the place was pretty empty but the bartender took a while to come back to us when we were ready to order food. Around 8 maybe? she disappeared completely and when we asked a server for her, he said she clocked out and the GM was taking over the bar. I'm not sure who the GM was because no one ever helped us and we ended ordering another round of drinks from that server. We saw the woman bartender again shortly after the game began. She checked on us once but then we were pretty much completely ignored for the entire game. We ended up flagging down the same server from before so we could close out. Seaboard is one of the newer breweries to enter the competition that is Charlotte, though they are no beginners, they have long had a location in downtown Matthews. Located in the area commonly known as LoSo (despite the fact that many hate this name), Seaboard is a large upscale taproom featuring craft beers, wines, and an impressive cocktail list. They host DJs on Friday and Saturday nights, and on weeknights they have trivia nights as well as stand up comedy and other events. In that way they are more than just a taproom, they are an event space, and a nightlife destination with different vibes on different nights that cater to a bunch of different tastes. Most recently I came in on trivia on Wednesday evening. It had a decent crowd, enough that it had a fun atmosphere but not too much that it was over crowded. In addition to all their beverage options, they offer a list of specialty pizzas that come in personal size enough for one hungry person, or for a couple to split. I myself tried to Buffalo chicken pizza and enjoyed it. Trivia night was fun and we enjoyed our food and drinks. It can feel so overwhelming with all the different options for going out in Charlotte, but this is a spot I would recommend people check out to see if they enjoy. read more

Really cool spot! Their service is on point I'd say! Knowledgable bartenders with extensive knowledge in wine, beer and spirits. Wine list is larger than I thought it'd be. They have some great bottles too that blew me away. Pizza was also really solid. I was expecting it to be just barely edible, but it was great! Perfectly cooked, full of flavor! Not too much sauce or too much cheese. I highly recommend it if you're out and about near LoSo! Parking is a bit tight, but there is a lot near by for the Platform building that you can use. The inside has a tropical vibe and the outside patio is a little underwhelming but still an option especially on warmer days. The patio is very pup friendly if that's your vibe. The drinks are good nothing spectacular but very tasty and the pizza is worth the hype. I really liked the BBQ chicken pizza so I have a feeling the Buffalo is even better. The pizza dough is on the thinner side but you get a nice crust. And the chicken is seasoned with quality tasting cheese so the other toppings are not overpowered by the sauce. There is comfy indoor seating and a large bar area for seating as well. The outdoor area is quite large too but it was too hot that day to enjoy it. Came here on a Sunday night so didn't expect it to be super busy but there was only two people sitting at the bar. No bartenders, servers or anyone that worked there came out. I eventually had to walk towards the back and ask if they were open. A dishwasher went and grabbed the bartender. This place has potential, but it has TERRIBLE service. Our table ordered pizzas and salads which the pizza took about an hour and the salad took another 20-30 minute to come out after the pizzas. It wasn't even busy enough for it to take that long. At one point, we had someone ask about drinks that weren't coming, and the response of the bartender was they lost the ticket. Go to the MATTHEWS location which is a million times better. It's got better service and better selection of beer and wine. Their charcuterie plates are also better and more variety at the Matthews location. The parking is also much better at the Matthews location. This SouthEnd location you have to either park in the CATs parking lot or drive around to find some random place to park since they don't have their own parking lot. read more

Went on a Saturday night. The place was busy, but not crazy (we didn't have to wait for table), so food and drinks both came out quickly. We had a salad and a few pizzas and everything was great. The pickle pizza was a surprise hit. Crust is great. Cocktails were also really good. I don't remember the name, but there's a spicy mezcal drink that is legit spicy, which is rare, but it was really good. You order food from a QR code menu on your phone, which I'm a fan of since you don't have to wait for a server. The group we were with had been before and said the last time they were able to order drinks through the QR code, but this time we had to go up to the bar to get drinks. Not sure if that changes at a certain time of the night or if they just changed how they do things, but that was probably my only minor negative I'd say about the place. read more

Visited on a Sunday (they have $23 Prosecco carafes with 4 juice options). The bartender Tevin, was super kind and even though he said he was new, he was helpful and informative (ask for him). The pizzas are delicious (got a BYO with jalapeños, bacon, chicken, and pesto) and the drinks Tevin made were delicious (I got the Charlotte Maid and Paloma Mezcal). Has diverse seating (high tops, bar, bench seating and outdoor seating with fans and I think heaters for colder days), great midday brunch spot if you're looking for good pizza. My friends and I also went Wednesday for trivia (super fun, did a 3-way beer chug for a tie) and got the strawberry salad with apple cider vinaigrette and strawberry vinaigrette, Mexican mule, and a BYO pizza with pickle, bacon, chicken, mushroom, and house made white sauce. Came here on Friday night with my wife for dinner and drinks. TLDR: it was an awful night. We're not old but it has to be said- the music inside was entirely too loud. Later in the night that's fun and much needed for vibes but at 7pm I had to scream my order to the bartender. We put in a pizza order around 7:30 (have a text to confirm this). While waiting, we witnessed multiple servers running around to the tables outside asking if they ordered [whatever was in their hands] and walk away confused when the table said no. There was no system in place. After an hour we realized our food hadn't come out. I went inside to inquire and was told they never put the order in! The bartender then said they were running out of dough and they couldnt even expedite a new pizza for us. To add insult to injury, she then tried to pawn off another pizza that was sitting behind the bar to us to make up for it (wasn't even the kind we ordered.) I had her void it from our bill but can't express how annoyed we were - having still spent $50 on cocktails, waiting around and going home hungry and tipsy. We enjoy Seaboard in Matthews but South End has too much to work on, we won't recommend or be back. read more
