I found Salud Holistic on Groupon and went there direct. They offered me same package found on Groupon 2 hydro colonic sessions and paid cash. I returned for my second session week later and they told me that is only for 1 session. Now they want me to pay $200 for 4 sessions and I never got my second session which I already paid for! The receptionist showed me how to do the colonic procedure and left the room. I found this very awkward and unprofessional! I wish I had read these reviews before I went to Salud Holistic. I made an appointment over the phone with this place. I spoke with a live individual specifically indicating that I was looking to have a chemical peel done. They assured me that they performed this and scheduled me for a 6pm appointment.I showed up at my scheduled time to be told don't have an appointment. Then I was told they don't do chemical peels so I guess they were just trying to get me in to sell me on something else. This was the kicker. The waiting area is very nice and neat and clean and that is important for me. There is parking and the area where they are located at in New Rochelle is adorable in case you get hungry. Good if you don't always want to go to Manhattan. *Offers Groupon deals. *Less expensive than Manhattan spas. *Friendly staff. The welcome sign reads "Please wait quietly for your appointment and take calls outside" (paraphrasing) but in the meantime, there's no underlying soothing, peaceful, music or nature/running water sounds like at most spas. They did have Home Alone playing on the tv in the waiting area. This doesn't really set the tone for a soothing atmosphere. There wasn't any new age, soothing music in the treatment room either. It was all instrumental pop which was ok, but again it doesn't promote relaxation. The salon is a row house converted into a spa, so it's cramped and maneuvering is difficult. The treatment rooms are also a bit old fashioned/dated. It definitely is not a state of the art or luxury facility. To keep coming here, you have to decide what appeals to you and what amenities you desire. If you're looking for a robe, slippers, snacks/beverages, or a zen experience you won't receive it here. Don't believe everything you read. This was amazing! DAZZLING!! This was my first time receiving colon hydrotherapy and I'm hooked to the procedure and location for life! The two young ladies at reception were helpful, informative, kind, gentle and patient. One of them escorted me to the room where I was having it done and explained all the steps to me. While I was having the procedure done, the same aid periodically came in to check on me twice. When my procedure was over, this Dominican grandma came in to give me wise words, tell me to take probiotics, fiber, restore my electrolytes and rubbed my belly . It was great! After I performed this service, which basically they dont anything. They just leave alone in a room with a machine, they offered me a package. I wish I could give this ZERO stars. I get there. As soon as I said I had a Groupon voucher, the old lady's energy changed. I waited 45 minutes before the room was ready. She told me the colonic instructions and left the room. The room was extremely cold. Thank goodness that I know human anatomy. What if I didn't and inserted the whole catheter in my anus and injured myself? She should've been in the room to help and supervise. I had to lay on my back on the bed and insert the yankauer catheter myself into my anus. I called her to help me because I feel like I couldn't do it properly . She says " as long as you feel the water going in , you're fine " and she leaves the room after she presses the start button. I felt the water going into my body but I also felt my buttocks being wet which means that the catheter wasn't inserted properly. My stomach was hurting a lot - severe cramping. I had to get the water out of my body. I called her to help me and to stop the water flow. I pushed the water out as much as I could. I told her I was done. I went to the bathroom to relieve myself and I left. I have money. I would've generously tipped BUT she chose to leave me alone and not help me so , I did not tip her and I will never return. I called them and Anisa picked up the call immediately after Introduction music , you have to press 1 to speak to someone. She was very courteous and professional and it was very easy to schedule the appointment. So I don't know what people are complaining about not getting through and all. I went for my appointment on time after explaining me the procedure they took care of me immediately. Colon Cleanse: It was my first time so I was nervous. They have private spa like big room upstairs . It was very clean & well maintain. She explained me the procedure and everything is done by yourself. So nobody is touching your private parts. I felt comfortable in privacy and took overall 45 mins. Iconic Foot detox: I am not sure if there is actual any benefits for it. Very poor experience. Would not recommend at all. I tried to get a colonic done here yesterday. They had about 10 different women there all getting different services with 1 technician and no receptionist. Then, they leave you in the room to do the colonic entirely on your own which is virtually impossible if it's your first time. For a sensitive appointment type like that, more TLC should be provided. WOW. I just finished filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau for Salud. What a horrible, grimy, rude business.... I purched 2 session for Salud on Groupon. I was so excited to use them, I spent $60 on this crap. I called them more than 13 times til finally someone answered the phone. I got my appointment, I was excited. The night before my appointment the receptionist at Salud called me to cancel my appointment, basically saying "the person that made your appointment had no idea what she was doing"... the receptionist said she would call me back the next day to reschedule... which OF COURSE she never did.... After 5 phone calls I finally was able to schedule an appointment. I get to my appointment early, knowing I will have to fill out paperwork and for 30 minutes I sit and wait. The health inspector has arrive about an hour before me and instead of rescheduling my appointment before I drove the 40 minutes to get there, I waited in the waiting room for over an hour. The receptionist tried to apologize and reschedule me but I didn't have a date that worked because I was going out of town for 2 weeks and told her I would call and reschedule. 1 month later and multiple messages and emails to the place I still have not had an appointment or a response. This place is terrible. I don't even want to go into it. I've been here twice because of a groupon for 2 treatments and never again-they just do everything wrong. The first time I was here, a woman was crying in the waiting room-literally crying because they had tried to give her the wrong treatment. I had walked in already pissed off because they had sent me to the wrong office (their other address). An hour bus ride later, I finally got there and was told that '"I could not be seen because the day had been pushed back because they had a difficult client." Wow. I walked into Salud for a Laser Lipo treatment that was purchased through Groupon. I sat in the waiting area till they called me and did not wait long. As I waited in the waiting room I was called to go upstairs, the room was set up very nice and the place smells very good, the attendant that took care of me was very nice but didn't speak to well English, she explained several services to me but I couldn't understand her to well. She had me change and lay down and she then started the treatment. The treatment started and I stood laying down for 30 minutes, you feel nothing during the session. Very disappointing. I purchased a groupon for a detox hydro therapy and wrap, followed the groupon instructions and made appointment online. I received an appointment confirmation. Morning of the appointment I went on the website and verified my appointments. Took time off from work drove the 45 minutes. I get there and the receptionist is having a loud personal conversation with a friend about the amount of soda she drinks and what is her favorite soda. I wait patiently for her to acknowledge that I could check in. I could tell she was already very annoyed. She then tells me you can't have two appointments in one day. I show her the groupon thinking we have miscommunicated as the deal was for two procedures together it was packaged that way and no where in any of the groupon did it say you could not book two appointments in one day. I purchased a Groupon for a "laser lipo" treatment. First I was told that I can only be seen on weekdays, which was not stated anywhere in the Groupon, but that was no big deal. I am now in the treatment room and was set up by a nice lady tell me of the mesotherapy treatment which helps with "my problem" over the treatment I was getting done, she goes on to tell me about all the strippers that get this procedure done and love the results, OK! She sets me up and leaves the room, the heating pads are slipping off my skin and felt like nothing more than just heating pads. Another thing that was my biggest concern is she never disinfected the pads after me and I was still getting dress when she was asking for her next client??? Next client comes in and I'm walking out room and still no disinfecting appliances or changing bed sheets, ladies and gentlemen stay away from this place. I had called several times left messages and every time that I did get someone I was told I needed to go on the website to schedule an appointment. I had tried several times to schedule an appointment online and there was always an issue with site. Either there was no appointment available in the calendar or the site was not working. I purchased a $99 GROUPON for 4 ultrasound liposuction treatments on 9/4/13. I made multiple calls and left multiple messages to Salud but was not able to get a call back and an appointment until 10/14/13. I was called the morning of my appointment by Anisa at Salud to cancel the appt. I expressed being upset so she was able to "squeeze me in" for 10/19/13. I went for my appointment and had the first ultrasound liposuction treatment. The technician kept telling me that the treatment would not work unless I also did the mesotherapy treatments in conjunction with the ultrasound. The owner Dr. Jimenez informed me they were having a huge sale for 10 mesotherapy sessions for $400. Normally this was over $1500. I was not convinced but the Doctor offered to have me pay in 2 installments of $200 each. I paid $200 on 10/19. The Doctor told me I would be called on Monday 10/21 for my appt since Anisa was not there on 10/19. I did not get a call to schedule an appointment. I finally called on 10/28 and was scheduled for 11/2. I went to Salud on 11/2 and had my second ultrasound liposuction treatment and mesotherapy session. The injection for the mesotherapy was quite painful this time but I was assured this was "normal". I paid the 2nd $200 payment on 11/2. I scheduled my next appt for 11/9. That week I observed really dark bruises on the left side of my abdomen. It looked like bruising from surgery at the site of the mesotherapy injections. The morning of 11/9 I woke up with a fever. I called Salud numerous times but was not able to speak to a person. I left a voicemail and sent an email informing I was sick and asking to be called to schedule an appt for Monday 11/11 at "anytime in the day or evening". I never received a call back. On 11/18/13 I called and left another voicemail asking for Dr. Jimenez to call me to discuss issues I was having with my services (inability to make an appointment) and with bruising from mesotherapy. I was finally able to reach Anisa and I expressed my complaint that in 2 1/2 months I had only been able to have 2 treatments and this was proving to be a waste of my time since I was told by Dr. Jimenez that in order for the treatments to be successful they have to be weekly and consecutive for 10 weeks. Anisa was sympathetic and told me that my work schedule was a "problem" because their available appointments are during the hours when I am working (I work from 10am to 5:30pm Monday thru Friday). I asked Anisa to inform the Doctor I wanted a refund. I was called back by Anisa on 11/22 and she informed that I would be getting a refund of my money paid. She asked me to provide my card information. I called and left her a voicemail with my card information. I called again on 11/25 and 11/26 and Anisa informed me both times that the doctor was no longer willing to refund my money because he initially thought I had paid $200, but now that he realized I paid $499 (including the $99 groupon) he would not agree to the refund. Anisa informed that Doctor Jimenez told her that I signed Salud's contract informing that all services were "non-refundable". I called on 12/5 and informed Anisa that I wanted to speak to the Doctor because I was going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and to go to small claims court to seek help with getting my refund. I called Salud on 12/6 and was finally able to speak to Dr. Jimenez. I expressed my concerns including the reason I no longer want to go to Salud being that their customer service is poor, and it is impossible to get an appointment in the manner needed for their treatments to work. I told him I would have gladly continued with the treatments if I had received appropriate customer service. The Doctor stated he would not refund my money because "one mesotherapy treatment alone is $250". I told him I was willing to accept $350 as a refund since I had 4 treatments out of the 14 purchased. The Doctor refused and stated that I was the one breaking the contract because they are "available every day to see clients and it is my schedule that is the problem". I informed the Doctor I was going to seek help from the Better Business Bureau and court. He told me I was entitled to do whatever I deemed appropriate. Then he encouraged me to call my bank and challenge the charges because he would also challenge them back. Do NOT GO TO SALUD. Not a professional establishment. Avoid at all costs. Aside from the fact that I too purchased a Groupon Coupon, I was told by the man answering the phone that there were NO weekend appointments. Rule of thumb: If you have no people skills, you do not belong at the front desk. If this man is the owner, as was apparent when he spoke gruffly to his wife, who was the technician, upon her arrival. There is no offer of water while you wait, the smell upon entering is so medicinal it made me want to turn back. I asked the technician to explain the process and knew immediately that when she stated in broken English that the "lights would be cutting the greasy" I was in a poor version of the Road to Wellville. I was in a cold room, with the local pop-rock station playing, put under a couple of towels and had some small led light contraption placed in a couple of places along my limbs wrapped in gauze. REALLY? The cherry on top were the tiny eye protection glasses I was asked to wear. This was no tanning salon, I all but burst out laughing. I asked where the heat was, what effects if any. Nothing but silence. The second my 30 minutes was up I was released from this farce I received nothing other than requests for another appointment. Don't ask me why I bothered to stay. Maybe because the technician really did seem as if she wanted to be of some service but the man did it for me. He was not interested in servicing anyone but himself. Stay clear. If you find yourself here then go to the deli to the right where an angel of a Manager generously provides you with quarters for the Muni-Meter (and his bagels are awesome to boot) or the Nail Salon place to the left.
