My bf and I have been traveling 45 minutes one way once a week so when I learned from my friend there's a pet store only 20 minutes away that has feeder mice, I was pretty happy. First time we went to Saluda the girl who we asked about the feeder mouse was extremely rude and seemed like she couldn't care less about helping us. Today we went back to pick up a mouse and the boy who got them seemed like he hated his job and wasn't very pleasant. Then not even 10 minutes into the drive home the mouse starts spazzing out, possibly has a seizure, and dies. I have never had a mouse that I got from the place that's 45 minutes away die on me so I know that's not normal. So I definitely did not feed that to my snake. I will never go back to this pet store for anything ever again. I would advise everyone to steer clear of this place. Bad customer service, and obviously sick animals. read more

I have always went to petsmart period. I absolutely love that place. However, a friend recommended Saluda River so I went in today just to see what they have. The store is smaller than petsmart, but they have so much dog food and supplies. The workers there are absolutely amazing! Super friendly, and very informative. They have high quality dog foods that petsmart doesn't have. They also have a pet wash room. U can pay I believe 16$ and they will wash your fur baby or 9$ and do it your self. I bought a few things then went right back to take advantage of the pet wash. They supply the shampoo, ear cleaner, towels, conditioner, an assortment of combs and undercoat combs. Not to mention big dryers, and nail clippers. The are could use a little cleaning but it wasn't bad for what it is. It was so nice not having to dirty the house up bathing my pup at home. Been a customer since the business was opened Spend about 2 grand a year there When (Again) I complained about the wait for me , the person in front of me and the lady behind me while they searched through the cards I commented in a joking way that it was 2019 and they probably spent more on labor looking than a computer program would cost First the gentleman there said management was too cheap to buy it and then told me he was the manager (i asked to speak to his boss) and became belligerent with me when then they asked for my id and further delayed me I have met more professional (assistant Im sure) managers at Burger King read more

Honestly I try to avoid saluda river as best I can but when I need something that petsmart dosent carry I have no choice. Where do I begin with this place. First off for a pet store they have no idea how to properly take care of their animals. For starters their leopard geckos are on sand which is a big no no. Not just any sand, blue sand, sand that is literally staining his skin because of how unnatural it is. It seems every time I go in something is wrong. A dead bird here, a guinea pig with ringworm there. God forbid you try to ask them about how to take care of animals. Please just do your research online because they will only help in killing your new pet. Which leads me to the next part, their customer service. Talking to anyone there, especially the manager who dosent know hardly anything, is like talking to a rock. I had to run by there last minute one day and I managed to get there a few minutes before they closed and they had already locked the door and turned off the lights. So are the times on your door right or not?? Dealing with saluda gives me a headache, take my advice and STAY AWAY. read more
