If I could rate the girl at the front desk separately I would, because she was extremely helpful and patient while I decided on the details of my tattoo. Unfortunately, the two star rating (and that's putting it nicely) is for the artist. I'm currently on my way to try and salvage it with another artist because the final outcome of my tattoo is not acceptable. The design was a minimalist mountain range and two lines of text, nothing too extravagant or detailed. But it looks like it was done by an 8 year old. The font we discussed looks nothing like what is on my back. The lines of text aren't straight, the lettering is barely legible, some letters are thicker than others. It's a mess. He was even making comments about how "this part was going to mess him up" as he has a needle to my back. Not professional at all. I went in as a walk in and it was the biggest mistake I could've made. I didn't get the name of the artist but to be quite frank, I would like to forget this experience ever happen. I went in to get a belly button piercing and at first the guy pierced it well but he put the needle in the wrong way, so he had to take it out and re-pierce it ANOTHER time, but it came out crooked so I told him I didn't like it and he tried to get me to pay for the jewelry.. you can't screw up twice and then expect me to pay for your jewelry that I can't even use. Ok so I know my last review was only a few days ago but hey we went back the night before flying out to head back to New Orleans. My wife was so happy with her Cheshire Cat she decided to finish her wonderland sleeve with the mad hatter. Now here's the thing we get to the shop and are a little late :-( we got turned around and stuck in traffic (damn tourists) that being us. They were still as nice as could be and stayed late to finish yet another 8 hour piece. I have quite a few tattoos and my wife does as well and we have never found any artist as accommodating as here at salvation. I came here with a friend with no appointment and they accommodated us within an hour with Mauricio! We were were getting small, intricate flowers. Mauricio saw the pictures of what we wanted and recreated them surpassing our expectations. He was so nice and made us feel very comfortable. As it was my first tattoo, I was super nervous but it barely hurt and he was great! He specializes in small roses so I was super excited because that's what I was getting. He did exactly what I wanted and more!! The Rose was extremely detailed and beautiful! I would HIGHLY recommend him! I went here during my vacation in Miami to get my septum pierced and it was a pretty good experience. I called the shop before I got to Miami and they told me to go the shop on Normandy so I wound't pay a lot for a simple piercing. When I got there after signing the waver forms and paying only $20 for the piercing done, I only had to wait for about 10 minutes for them to get everything ready. The piercing itself was a little painful but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and it was over quickly. I'm happy with the piercing and it's healing very well. I would totally recommend anyone who's visiting Miami to stop by if they want something by anyone at Salvation Tattoo. I don't remember names, but everyone there was really cool and down to earth. They were also very professional from the time I go there to the time I left. read more

Ok I am incredibly upset and angry with how my tattoo turned out by Pablo Zuazo. He did a horrendous job and of course it's going to look good once it's done but after it healed it looks like shit. I have 4 other tattoos that I have taken great care of, did the same with this one and yet it turned out shitty. how does that happen except for a bad artist? I paid way too much money for it to turn out like a newbie artist played around with a gun. I am incredibly disappointed. I want at least half of my money back. Now I have to spend even more to get it fixed by an actual artist. Do not go here. it is not worth your time or money. read more

I came in super nervous to get my nipples pierced (I have the pain tolerance of a new born), but the entire staff made me feel a hell of a lot more comfortable. I got pierced by Rich (Richie?) and he was funny and helped put me at ease. I did have one other person watching/learning how to do the piercing, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but he asked politely and I had no problem with him watching. The piercing itself was over pretty quickly and wasn't as painful as I thought/heard. Their prices were also really affordable. I'd highly recommend this shop and especially Rich (Richie?). Went to the Normandy location to get a nose piercing, when I went the doors were locked but there were people inside. A women came out and told me that they changed their hours and now closed at 8, but nothing online said that nor did their own answering machine (both said 10). so then I called the south beach location to see if they had a piercer available and the women told me their piercer was getting a tattoo. For a place that accepts walk ins it is very unprofessional for their piercer to be getting a tattoo on the job. read more

I'm experience of getting a tattoo with Cludaio great . He made sure I was stratified with the sketches and had no problem doing any adjustments I asked for . I wanted to honor my dog Billy who recently passed away by getting him tattooed on my arm and I did extensive research on artists who would be suitable for the job.I came across Etorre Bechis and after seeing his work online I knew he was the perfect match.I had my first consultation with him on a Saturday night right before they were closing and I showed him some photos of Billy and chatted.the following Tuesday I would go in for my first session.When I went in he began to work on my stencil and I was amazed at how he was able to bring my idea to reality,it was only the first step but it was a sign of good things to come. My tattoo took a total of 3 sessions and we ended up finishing it on December 24th and on December 25th it would be exactly a month since my sweet baby boy passed away so it was all perfect.When I looked at the tattoo in the mirror I couldn't believe how realistic it looked. On my first consultation appointment, he spent time with me without rush, listened to what i wanted, made suggestions and came up with some great ideas. I got an angel tattoo from another tattoo shop that needed to be fixed. He did an awesome job by fixing it, made it look beautiful and added other great details to my half sleeve. He was very professional, had a great personality and he work is A+. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and everyone from Casper, the front desk girl, to the other tattoo artists all welcomed me and are so friendly. As I sit here in my Uber going back home extremely disappointed with salvation tattoo lounge. So I booked my appointment with Alien in the Normandy location for Feb 14th which I found odd but I went with it. So after spending 40 mins in an Uber trying to get there on time I see I nice little hand written note saying they are closed the 14th and 15th. Is there no follow up with your clients? A simple email or phone call saying we need to move your appointment to another day would have been perfectly fine with me. But nothing. No communication whatsoever. Now as I sit in another Uber going to be $50 in the hole. I was really looking forward to getting work done but this is just unacceptable. I look forward to hearing from the manager to see what text book response they will have. read more

Went a got a tattoo by one of the in house artists by the name of Steve. Steve did a very simple 3 letter tattoo which needed retouching after healing. Upon doing the tattoo, like any reputable place, he promised 1 free retouch once the healing is done. We made an appointment 2 months after for a retouch. He confirmed the appointment. We arrived at the time only to wait nearly an hour. Once he comes out he asked "what are you getting?" After telling him we're only here for the touch up we made the appointment for he persists we get something else. We said we were going to the pool so we didn't want to do it today. He said "I have a cream you can put on it and it will be ok to go to the pool". We said we don't have time for that today. He said "since you're getting small tattoos it'll only take a few minutes". Any hint we have him that we didn't want another tattoo turned into a shameless attempt in upselling. After having to be adamant that we're just here for the touch up and nothing else he says "WELL I HAVE TO MAKE MONEY SOMEHOW AND IM RUNNING LOW ON NEEDLES SO I CANT WASTE ANY ON YOUR TOUCH UP". I was so upset that I felt it's better to leave. Glad I did. This is not professional and as somebody who represents a reputable tattoo shop it's unacceptable. Your supplies or lame excuses is YOUR PROBLEM not the customers. Between myself, my wife and a couple friends we've been loyal to getting work at Salvation Tattoo at both this location and South Beach. We've spent thousands of dollars as we were comfortable with the previous experiences by Salvation. This was enough to end our patronizing at Salvation. Never again! read more
