I went here for the first time, and it was so nice to go to a sit-down pizza restaurant! We got the meatball appetizer and it was properly seasoned and the meatball was tender. The Walter White pizza was good, I loved the lemon olive oil! The ambiance of the restaurant was really modern yet cozy. My server took excellent care of us. Sal's will definitely be on my regular rotation!

The place inside is super nice, but I just got a pizza to order. It was very unremarkable, just a straightforward pizza. Didn't dislike it, it just kinda was a pizza. A little tough/crunchy. Okay taste. Crust was also not bad.

Yum! We sampled quite a few different pizzas and they all had great flavor. Our server was very attentive as well.

Pistachio scoop and hazelnut scoop. Yum.

Delicious, must try. Great customer service by friendly employees. Do yourself a favor and come support this spot.

This place never disappoints! Best pizza in Madison hands-down! Great spot to go to before a show. The drinks are pretty decent, and they recently changed their menu as there were new choices, including Agatha's margarita and sea of thieves. The service was great! The decor is perfect for this location. Great for date nights or family nights or groups, especially before a show at the Sylvee.

This was our second time dining at Salvatore's, but the first time I left agreeing wholeheartedly with the restaurant's popularity. We parked for free in the connected parking garage, and were able to walk right into the building without going outside. We arrived early for our reservation (5:30PM on a Thursday), but were seated and served immediately. Our meal came with some of the fastest service I've experienced in a while, with the whole process (entering the establishment to requesting our check) taking around 30 minutes. We didn't feel rushed at all, our waiter Mya and the kitchen staff were just on their A game! Our meals were hot and delicious. The handmade bucatini in my dish were delectable and cooked to perfection. I told my partner over dinner that this was my favorite pasta dish I've had in Madison this far. The build-your-own tomato pie was also fantastic, a special shout-out to the crispy crust and yummy cheese. The cocktail, although smaller portioned, was made very well. Another shoutout to our waiter Mya, who never let our water glasses get low, and frequently checked on us regarding the status of our order and later around the satisfaction of our meal. Such a warm and friendly server! This is the perfect restaurant if you're looking for a cute date night, or a quick meal before a Madison Forward game! I can't wait to go again!

I love this neighborhood gem. The food is soooo delicious. We started with a Caesar salad perfectly topped with a smidge of fill and my favorite Parmesan crust croutons (10/10 to the inventor of crisps for croutons. Seriously). And then split a sweet and savory/ salty pizza. The service was also phenomenal, and the street entertaining was sublime. Wonderful experience!

I took out pizza from here on a Saturday evening. They had their own parking lot, but I didn't notice. So parked on street side. I went for a small woodsman pizza and loved it. It had a nice earthy flavor to it.

Party of 1. Several 2 top tables open on a busy Friday night. They wouldn't sit me but directed me to the bar. Full. So no seating for a party of 1?? Ordered online: 16" Tomato Pizza with Basil, fries and 2 pieces of chocolate cake. The fries were good. The cake was decent. The pie? The pie took 78 minutes to come out and then it was warm at best. Super thin, tasteless crust, flimsy. Sauce and basil had good taste. Definitely disappointed overall. Darn.

I've been coming to Salvatore's for the past 4 or 5 years and the vegan supreme is still one of the best vegan pizzas in town. I've tried some of their other vegan dishes here and there (pasta and meatballs, chocolate cake) and they're pretty good, but that pizza is hard to stray from! The Livingston location is usually busy, especially if you're trying to go before a concert at the Sylvee, but it never takes too long to get a table. Their online ordering makes it's easy to do a pickup as well. It's lively and cool inside and there's an option to dine on the patio in the warmer months. I wish the vegan taco pizza was on the menu all the time!

    Chicken gnocchi
    Maeghan N.

This dining room is small and bare, all glass windows and aluminum chairs so it can get loud and not comfy for a long and lingering dinner. However, the brown butter chicken gnocchi was the most Devine thing I've ever eaten in a long time. Food quality outweighs ambiance here! Service was friendly and adaptable, they were willing to offer a kids pasta with Meatballs even though it wasn't technically on the menu.

I had dinner plans, so I just wanted to stop in for a drink and snack. They have some really good offers for HH and their cheese curds are half off. I had never had one, so it sounded like the perfect time to try. I got a glass of wine and the curds. They came out quickly, hot and fresh. It was a big bowl of fried cheese. They come with ranch and hot honey, and apparently they recently won best cheese curd at the cheese curd crawl. They were super tasty. Well seasoned, perfectly fried, and kind of chewy. I am not on the hot honey frenzy train, but I tried it and thought it paired well, just wasn't for me. The ranch was tasty though. Even the happy hour portion was hefty and I couldn't put down half. A little wine and cheese on a beautiful day, just makes for a good experience. They were making some pretty interesting cocktails behind the bar, and it is definitely worth coming back to try out their other options.

Fair enough, I can forgive a single mistake. Once we were greeted, our server seemed to realize that, for as nice of a place as this was, the wait while the restaurant wasn't busy (there was maybe five tables sat) really wasn't acceptable, so we were given a complimentary drink. After ordering bruschetta and a cheese board, I expected things to move a little quicker since they were two fairly simple appetizers. Our bruschetta and espresso martini arrived, and both were delicious and well worth the price; no complaints there. Unfortunately, our cheese board was forgotten. Since it was obviously missed, our very kind server offered us a complimentary espresso martini which was second complimentary beverage, which was delicious. Recognizing that the overall service had been subpar, our server also offered us a free dessert. We were given the crème brûlée, which was just okay and a little too sweet for my taste and also cold. All in all, considering how slow the service was despite there being very few tables, there were more delays and mistakes than there should have been. That said, our server did a good job of making up for it with the complimentary drinks and dessert. Overall, the food was decent and the view was great. I would come back for cocktails and appetizers, but probably not for a full meal. We still tipped well higher than average because our server was extremely apologetic for the sub-par service, and made up for it in comped orders. I expect better for the cost but appreciate the honesty with the service.

The bar was also not well kept with glassware and napkins still in my space from the previous patron. I had to ask for water, napkin and utensils after my food came. I also had to ask for another drink, while the 2 girls next to me were attended to constantly. I ended up ordering the shrimp risotto and while tasty, it was too salty after a few bites. I'm giving 2 stars because they have a decent wine selection.
