Alright - i tried their ceviche last night. I hesitated for a very long time because why would i risk it on seafood when i KNOW their chicken is scary good? Fellas, try it at least once. It is also scary good. Hot, fresh tortilla chips, wild caught TODAY crab and shrimp, and fresh herbs. Everybody does ceviche a little differently but all i can say about Salvi is that they do it *right*. It goes without saying that their chicken is so good that finishing your plate is upsetting. Their sauce is incredible. Put your leftover sauce on your eggs. Put it on your baked potatoes. Try it as a crema with a little added lemon juice, drizzled over a salad. And the PUPUSAS. Peak comfort food. Somehow an incredible texture, like a warm embrace after struggling to navigate the world of gluten free restaurant flops. They absolutely deserve the price they charge, even if the price keeps us from patronizing them as often as we wish we could support them. let me be the one to say, as somebody with celiac, Salvi is an AMAZING restaurant to reserve for celebratory events. Get rid of the stupid QR code ordering! What a pain, especially as you need to place a separate order if you want beer. Their entry into Portland Taco Week 2026 was creative. The regular version was good, the veggie not so much. Where it kinda failed was in functionality as it was difficult to eat without a mess. Nice server. Bartender was very cool. read more

I love they have loroco as an option which is near and dear to my heart. Everything is fresh and super tasty! Fried chicken! Do I need to say more? I am dairy and gluten free, and tbh I am not sure even when the last time I had fried chicken. I was happy to learn that Salvi can make decent fried chicken and meet my dietary restrictions. I think regular gluten and dairy eating people would be pleasantly surprised. It was noted on their menu that it will take at least 25 minutes to cook to order. No worries, you can enjoy a beer at GroundBreakers (highly recommend) or order in advance and pick up. Plenty of options, people. I did order Salvi's version of Frank's red hot sauce. It was good, but not sure if I would order again. Overall, this meal satisfied my craving. This place sucked. The wait to get our pupusas was an hour, then it took another 10 minutes for our wings and chicken tenders, and it took another 15 for our fried chicken. The wings didn't have many options for sauces, and none of them were good. The area was very loud, and we had to yell to hear eachother. Being a Texas transplant, my husband and I have yet to find a decent fried chicken joint that we love. 10/10! Seriously, it was tender, juicy, yet stayed crispy! I'd come back for the fried chicken alone! Also had the HH pupusas revueltas. They were packed with filling, the masa was soft center crispy outside, and was brilliantly paired with the spicy salsa and curtido. Next time I'm in the city, I'll definitely be stopping here!! As a gluten free girl, this place was incredible! I can't remember the last time I had crispy fried chicken. It was perfectly cooked and the fried chicken was insanely good and the crunch was off the charts! The fries were perfect as well! We got 1 of each of the sauces and all I can say is 10/10. So happy to find an all gluten-free food service, and they're located at a brewery! (A gluten-free brewery, too: Ground Breaker Brewing) The Hubs & I shared a few things: - 2-piece fried chicken, which was a drumstick & breast. The breading was deliciously seasoned & perfectly crispy. Fried chicken does take 25 minutes to prepare since they make it to order, but it's worth the wait. - vegan nachos, it was a large portion loaded with black beans, pico & pickled veggies - Pupusa, they have several options for these and we opted for the pork & cheese one. It was tasty and came with a tangled pickled slaw and some sort of sauce that was a very-thin tomato sauce. I think the sauce needed to be thicker as it was like a little cup of juice. You order online via the QR code at your table in the brewery and then they bring it out when it's ready. The guy that was bringing food out from the kitchen was very nice. read more

I am celiac and I have given up going out to eat /...and drinking! But this place has given me hope usually I can't find anybody who wants to go to a place thats gluten-free but my whole family went with me. I have Celiac and I haven't had fried chicken in over 5 years since my diagnosis. I came to Salvi and had the best gluten free fried Chicken of my life. The atmosphere a 10/10, the staff a 20/10 and the food a 50/10. It blew my mind how delicious everything is and I will most definitely be back and will be taking my celiac friends as well!!
