Last year, Yelp held its annual award event here. I ended up meeting a couple that was in the lounge area that were going to Dr. Phillips later that night. We struck up a conversation-they asked what this big Yelp group was about, and I provided the details. They said they always come to the WXYZ Lounge before a performance arts event as this place is not crowded and the food is quite good. I remembered this conversation when a friend and I attended a recent event at Dr. Phillips. As luck would have it, Woody and Kim were in the Lounge when we walked in Friday night! I introduced them to my guest and thanked them for their recommendation. We then went to sit at the bar. First off, LeBeth was our main bartender, and she was excellent. We remembered each other from the Yelp event. We ordered two of the featured cocktails, Waterloo Rose Pedals (gin) and Svedka String Winder (vodka). My friend asked if the vodka drink was sweet and LaBeth stated she could add more lemon to her cocktail to counterbalance the sweetness. Both drinks were excellent, and although I liked my gin drink, I switched to the vodka drink for my second one after I had a taste of my friend's drink. A shout-out also to the "bartender in training", Jeffrey, who assisted us. The food was also amazing. We first ordered from the Small Bites menu. The Buffalo Cauliflower floret bites were lightly breaded and soft, with Bleu Cheese crumbles, and the buffalo dressing was provided on the side. Very tasty! The Veggie Eggrolls with the sweet Red Chili sauce was also a big hit. We then added a Chicken Caesar salad and the Fish Tacos from the Big Bites menu to also share. The salad was a good size, served in a large round, flat bowl, with the Caesar dressing on the side. The Fish Tacos were very FULL tacos, and the combination of the spicy sauce and the sweet and tangy coleslaw complimented each other well. We both agreed these were some of the best fish tacos we have tasted! Overall, a great place to stop in for Happy Hour and it is THE PERFECT stop before an event at the Dr. Phillips Performance Center.

It just didn't sit right with me it just gave me an overall icky feeling staying in the room. Like I was staying in a motel off the side of a highway, not a reputable Marriott brand. The hotel is old, elevators are very slow and sketchy. Hallways are dark and carpets are stained everywhere. The thing is, I wouldn't say it was horrific but I wouldn't stay here again, when for $115 (only 10$ more) I can stay at the Courtyard which is a same tier level hotel, which is so much cleaner and well put together, like they actually care.

On the first day that we landed, we Uber to SeaWorld since shuttle is not available at that time but we made sure to note the returning shuttle time.. We ended up waiting over 20 minutes for the shuttle and had to Uber back since the hotel could not confirm if the shuttle was coming. This is not really the hotel's fault since the shuttle is third party. On the third day going to Aquatica, we took the shuttle there which was on time but forgot the return time so I called the hotel's front desk and was told the earliest pick up time was at 3:40pm. We went to the pick up area at 3:30pm and waited until 4:10pm. My wife called again to confirm and was told once again that there is a 3:40pm pick up time and the next one will be at 4:40pm. Once again we had to Uber back to the hotel since we waited over 40 minutes. I checked the schedule once we got back and there was no 3:40pm pick up time so we wasted so much time waiting with a toddler for no reason. The room was spacious but had a wet smell and feel to it. The cleaning staff also left a dirty cleaning rag on the table after room service. We came back that evening and saw it. Overall the staff were friendly but I will not be returning to this hotel as it did not provide the convenience that I wanted.

It is a massive box structure with a fabulously large atrium in the middle. The check-in process was handled quickly and efficiently. This is a Marriott property and the staff were all very friendly and well trained. The elevators face in to the atrium, and it is a scenic view as you had up to your floor. Elevators were quick and there seemed like there was always one waiting on the first floor. Rooms were decently sized and well appointed - very clean and comfortable. Bed was in good shape and got the job done. Hot water was hot and made the shower experience fine. After putting my stuff up, I took a stroll around the place - most of the amenities appear to be in the first floor: bars / restaurants and shops. There is an outdoor pool area and a fitness center somewhere in there as well. To be fair, I did not spend a whole lot of time in the room as I had quite a few activities to attend to. Would I stay here again? I would if the cost of the room was workable. It also depends on where you are planning on going in Orlando. Overall a very good stay and I would recommend staying here if you have the option. Parking is self-park and cost is about $44 / day, or valet park for considerably more at $56/day

The parking system didn't work correctly, and it seemed like this was an ongoing problem. The hot tubs were disappointing, one was closed, and the other had no jets and was the grossest hot tub we've ever seen. That was a major letdown. Checking out was a bit chaotic too, as there were people cutting lines and no one explained that there were multiple checkout lines, so my husband ended up waiting unnecessarily. On the bright side, the hotel restaurant was delicious, and our server there was great. The wine bar, unfortunately, was another story, the service was slow, and we ended up giving up and returning to our room. We enjoyed the upgrade and the overall ambiance of the hotel, so we would recommend it if the price is right, but definitely keep these issues in mind. I chose to give them 4 stars, instead of 3, due to the upgrade, and two free drink vouchers with check-in.

I liked the open clothes hanging space rather than a traditional closet. The window side seating area was exactly what I needed for work. The bed was comfortable. I appreciated the mirror frame that could be lit up. The wallpaper was so fun! The hotel was a little over a mile from Seaworld and the convention center, which was very convenient to go back and forth when needed. I felt safe staying there.
