This is a cool little place! We went in the back door but had to walk to the hostess at the front, which was a little weird, but no big deal. We got seated really quick and waiter got to us right away, great introduction and nice guy. Not too aggressive, but not too passive either. Our drinks all came pretty quickly, and tasted pretty good. I was the only one of the group to get an adult beverage, but it came pretty quickly as well and tasted pretty good... not the best Long Island Tea I've ever had, but it was good and you could tell it had the alcohol. The only difference in our orders was the salad dressing and the doneness of our steaks and it was all fantastic. The salads were nice and fresh and super crisp, with real bacon, Cheddar and croutons. My dressing was a bit heavy but the other guys all got extra and it was probably an assumption for mine. The potato was great, though perhaps could have been a little warmer because the butter still wasn't all the way melted when I got around to it. Again... real bacon and shredded Cheddar and delicious. My steak was great as well. Cooked perfectly medium and delicious. My one complaint was it was perhaps a little bland, but just on the first few bites so maybe they just missed a spot. Besides that, everyone looked at me like I was crazy for saying that. Everything went well during the meal as far as timing and no empty drinks and every aspect of service. I was glad I wasn't paying though, coz it was about $40 per person, but definitely worthy of a date night or two. I would come again if I'm in the area again. read more

Hadn't been here for some time and my memory of the place was better than I received. The staff was stand-offish and they were difficult to keep engaged. I ordered the seafood pasta which was enjoyable but for the most part it came plain without any sides or garnishments. I would have enjoyed more deeper flavor such as garlic or better wine flavor for the price. The side of bread was helpful but I wasn't impressed. I did enjoy the dessert which was a nice ending to the meal but at I mentioned, it was hard to keep the server engaged and it took multiple times to keep my water glass full. If the place was hopping I could understand but in this average size place, they had three waitresses and a bartender and there were only three tables occupied. It's all about the food and customer service, if you drop one then the other follows. I may return here the next time I'm in town but I'm somewhat hesitant. This place is an unexpected treasure. When you look around the town of Camden, most restaurants are fast food basic meals. I'm from Connecticut. This place is would fit in quite well in Connecticut, New York, or Boston. My wife said it reminded her of a place in North Hampton MA. I'm sure it would fit in at any large metropolitan area. It is not a restaurant you would expect in Camden SC. The menu is full of delicious choices. There is something that available for many palettes. We had the Tomato Basil Claim Cake soup as an appetizer. It was quite yummy. For the main dish it was the Pan Seared Sea Scallops and steamed Asparagus. Everything was cook just right. However, I'm giving 4 stars because the menu did not say that the scallops had a spicy seasoning. My wife does not like spicy food. I give kudos to our food server for making this issue right. A great location in the heart of Camden with exceptional staff and service. So why the 2 stars? The chicken was tough, requiring a knife to cut a sandwich in fact and I nearly froze - the AC works a bit too well. The ambience is set for romance with very low lighting, but it can be difficult to see to read the menu if you're not accustomed to it. I used the flashlight on my phone just to see it. The manager was lit, his breath reeked of alcohol and he was stumbling around. it appeared that he felt chewing gum was a sufficient cover up for his condition; but that just resulted in him accidentally spewing spittles of saliva while he talked. So I chose to come this establishment 1.) because I needed to try a new restaurant for the week 2.) because I was told this was the best steakhouse in the city. Now, I haven't been to many steakhouses, but this was definitely up there. If you allow GPS to guide you, it will conveniently lead you to the back parking lot. There are limited parking spots directly behind the restaurant but plenty in the same lot. Walking in, there was a huge party right down the middle, so it was definitely cramped. The aura was very comfortable-- think nice button down and jeans or dress... it's fairly dimly lit but nice. Because of the huge parties going on, it took awhile to get the complimentary bread, which was good. The service was absolutely awesome. We got a gentleman, to which I forget his name, but he was right around the corner of turning 21. His manners were impeccable and if you don't give a good tip.... then the sky must be falling. On to the food.... it was great. Pricy, but very worth it. I would definitely recommend the Kingston cut... I believe it was something "king". But the sauce, omg... amazing!! Friday evening and the whole place was packed which is good to see. Asian waitress (maybe waiter) walking throughout the restaurant had there mask below the face the entire time. What's the purpose of wearing it if it's not covering the nose and mouth. The scallops appetizer tasted really fishy, was not that good. The tuna sashimi appetizer was outstanding. Drinks were great. The filet was outstanding and cooked perfectly. Abby our waitress was great. Debated on giving 2 stars because waiter not wearing mask and scallops not being good but Abby service and the Steaks were on point and overall increased star rating. Best steak I have had on my entire trip. Perfectly prepared. Two other guests had pasta and they both loved it (one chicken one seafood). Service was great as well only complaint is that the paper menu had "market price" on all the steaks. How hard is it to print a little card or reprint the menu. I was visiting my in laws one Saturday afternoon in Camden, and they love to eat here so we decided to grab lunch. The restaurant wasn't too crowded but there were only 2 servers and no hostess. We stood waiting for a table for a little while. I felt bad for the servers because they seemed super busy. We started with the broccoli bites and those were delicious! Broccoli and cheese fried into a ball - my favorite things!! I had the crab cake sandwich and it was delicious! I didn't realize when I ordered it that it also had bacon on top! My husband had the lobster roll and he said it was really good. I liked the way the restaurant looked on the inside. She kept out drinks filled and checked back on us often without being intrusive. I ordered the SK burger, and it was super yummy. It was cooked to perfection - medium. The condiments and veggies were also delicious. I had been in the mood for a good burger for quite some time, and this one measured up. I absolutely loved the "SK" branded into the bun.
