    Chipotle PastramiChipotle

This chipotle pastrami is $30 and it is the most expensive sandwich I ever had! I don't normally eat pastrami so this is my first impression. This was a big sandwich with lots of flavors and the pastrami to cole slaw ratio is a very good balance. I also really liked the Chipotle sauce with it. The service was great. I ordered in person and got it to go. They were very nice and got my order in a timely manner. There is lots of seating inside but it is super busy and there were no seating. Very casual and bustling place, they are popular for sure!

The only thing I regret about coming here is stopping by on my last day in town. Had I known how good the sandwiches were, then I would have ate here a few more times. I came upon opening on a weekday and quite a few people followed. It must get busy here on weekends because this weekday opening was busy. They had a huge catering delivery the staff was feverishly working to load up as well. The staff moved pretty quickly and got us our order fast. Everything was really good. The seating area is midsized. I could see it filling up during peak hours, but lucky for us we had plenty of seating. I'll be stopping by here again when I come back to town.

Ok..10 out of 10 sandwich! I got the white tuna on Scala bread. Perfectly sized sandwich. And the way they package it makes it like a gift. Perfect to take to a park or a hidden spot to enjoy. Love their selection of drinks, especially Jarritos which are glass instead of plastic bottles. I got the mango. Now the drawback...the prices. I got the only sandwich I could afford on the menu. The other specialty sandwiches are all around $25. Maybe they are big enough to share? Anyway, despite th prices I did really enjoy it and would highly recommend coming here!

I finally tried a sandwich from Sam LaGrassa's (the Diablo Pastrami) and--wow. This beast is stacked with chipotle mayo, BBQ sauce, melted jack cheese, applewood smoked bacon, Bermuda onion, and hot cherry peppers, all packed between a round roll. It was smoky with just the right amount of heat from the chipotle mayo, balanced beautifully by the subtle sweetness of the cherry peppers. Everything is made better by adding bacon for a savory crunch, and the pastrami itself? Perfect, tender, and flavorful. I ordered it to go, and they handed it over in this surprisingly cool little box that opens up so you don't need a plate--nice touch for presentation and it keeps from adding to the pile of dishes in the sink. Now, as much as I enjoyed every bite, it came out to almost $30 with everything, which feels steep for a sandwich, even a great one. So was it delicious? Absolutely. Was it $30-good? Maybe once--for the experience.

While $25 for a sandwich is an incredibly steep price, I believe this sandwich is worth it. I usually find meat heavy sandwiches boring and not super yummy, but these sandwiches have changed my view completely. The meat is soo flavorful and tender! I came in a skeptic of their food but literally one bite in and my mind was changed. This is the first (and quite possibly the only) place that could make me rationalize spending close to 30 dollars for a single sandwich. The size of the sandwiches aren't huge though so those with big appetites might not be full at the end, but these sandwiches are worth it because of their quality, not quantity.

The juiciest and most flavorful pastrami sandwiches I ever had. I really liked the pastrami traveler and my boyfriend liked the pastrami reuben so you can't really go wrong. There was a bit of a line and wait but it was worth it. There is a good amount of seating inside and there was a couple tables available even though there was a lot of people. I think it was because most people were taking it to go.

Certainly the best pastrami sandwich I've had in ages, maybe ever. I ordered the chipotle pastrami, which is medium sliced pastrami, Cole slaw, honey mustard, some cheese, other spices, eg chipotle, served on a grilled roll. Perfect ratio of meat to other ingredients. I'm comparing this in my mind with pastrami's at Carnegie deli in NYC and smoked meat venues in Montreal. Hands down this was superior. Truly one of the best experiences on my Boston trip. Downtown there is a small sandwich shop that on busy days has a line. Hate lines but this is worth it. Small shop with seating inside and great service! Quick and to the point. But it's the combination of flavors and bread I love. Pastrami and corned beef! With slaw and dressing! Oh yes please. The cuban was also about perfect! Chips? Yes. Soda and other drinks? Yes!! Just go!!!

Psst. Hey. Yes you, c'mere. Wanna slam down the best pastrami sandwich of your life? You're in luck. You're in Sam LaGrassa's. Wish I had one of these spots back home. I also don't. I'd be there every day. Recommend. Staff are efficient, dining area is comfy, use napkins.

We love this place! We were in Boston and a cold and rainy April day and decided we were going back to the hotel to sit and read. First though we stopped at Sam's and got ourselves a turkey Rachel with some sides to take back to the hotel Fantastic sandwiches as always.

I have always wanted to check this place out and decided to order a chicken sandwich. I got the chicken mafia. The portion size is large and very favorable. They offer online orders and make the sandwiches really fast. They have some tables if you choose to dine in.

I ordered a chipotle pastrami sandwich to go and told the man who took my order that I had a 20 minute ride home. He was thoughtful enough to suggest I get the coleslaw and sauce on the side so my sandwich didnt get soggy, and he was right! I put the sandwich together myself when I got home and it was totally delicious. My only critique is that for $25 bucks, there could have been a bit more pastrami. Sam LaGrassa's definitely lives up to the hype!

Italian Sub: $20 for a foot long, the meat was so plentiful it's almost overflowing, enough for two meals. The prisciutto was tender and juicy; the salami was firm and savory with a strong smokiness. Both are thinly sliced, so despite the thick stack, it was relatively easy for a bite. The provolone cheese was also generously portioned, with a robust yet not spicy flavor and a subtle nutty aroma, perfectly complementing the two meats. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were particularly outstanding: mellow, tangy, and with a fruity aroma of grapes, key to the complex flavor profile. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were all fresh, especially the onions were refreshing and a little zingy, perfect for removing the greasiness. Unfortunately, I was worried about not being able to roll it back up properly and making it inconvenient to carry (which it actually happened), so I took it away and ate it at the office. After about 40 minutes, the bread had become somewhat dry and hard.

We walked into a simple counter-service space with limited indoor seating, the kind of place that feels more like a grab-and-go stop than a sit-down lunch spot. Even with its small footprint, there was a steady stream of customers coming in for one of the signature sandwiches, and the energy of the room stayed practical and focused on getting orders out efficiently. The lobster roll is the clear standout. We ordered one and found it generously filled with lobster meat, making it feel substantial compared to many other lobster rolls around the city. Whether you choose it hot with butter or cold with mayo, the focus stays on the lobster itself rather than overwhelming it with extra ingredients. The toasted roll added just enough texture without taking away from the filling. Although the lobster roll gets most of the attention, the rest of the menu offers plenty of options if seafood is not what you are looking for. There are oversized sandwiches, soups like clam chowder, and classic sides that make it easy to find something for different tastes. The portions are generous overall, making the prices feel reasonable considering the amount of food you receive. The service was quick and efficient, which fits the fast-paced counter-service concept. The staff moved through orders with speed, and the food came out without much delay. The biggest thing to keep in mind is the limited seating, especially during lunch hours or peak tourist seasons in the North End. If the dining area is full, taking your food to go or finding a nearby outdoor spot can be a better option. Overall, Pauli's is a great stop if you are looking for a satisfying lobster roll without an overly formal seafood restaurant experience. The generous portions, straightforward menu, and convenient location make it an easy place to visit while exploring the North End, especially if lobster rolls are at the top of your list.

I've eaten here before (it's a small area, but does have a lot of seating) but normally I get it as take out. The cafe itself is super casual, it's the perfect place to pop into during lunch or after a walk. My food is always ready on time which is nice, and when I've eaten there I'm usually able to find a seat. The spinach tortellini with the pesto cream sauce is my absolute favorite- it's a HUGE portion and so delicious. It usually lasts me at least 2 meals. The bread they include is also great! I like to dip it in the sauce. The past time I got Dino's I accidentally ordered spinach ravioli instead of tortellini...that was my bad. HOWEVER I think I might have found my new favorite? The raviolis are huge and so fat. I'm talking like 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch thick. There is so much stuffing and the spinach ricotta mix tastes so fresh and delicious...it's a must try. I've also gotten the eggplant parm before, and the fettuccini Alfredo. Both were also delicious. I've never had any of the sandwiches, but if they are anything like their pastas then I'm sure they are great! The bang for your buck here is also great which is nice. Highly recommend! I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.
