Traditional pastrami on rye with a side of pickled cabbage and a fantastic birch beer
    Bill Z.

They definitely know their way around pastrami here, it was lean and juicy and tender. I'm sure their turkey is just as good, but we all came here for the pastrami. My meal also included the pickled cabbage, which didn't have a strong flavor but did have the right level of brininess and texture. Their soda, Harmony Springs out of Ludlow, was new to me, but I became an instant fan. The birch beer instantly became a favorite. I don't drink a lot of soda, but I'll search for their brand. Sandwich making can be a small bottleneck if it's busy, but it's worth your patience.

    Hardly any pastrami!

I ordered the Reuben sandwich for delivery! The bread was burnt to black, very little meat. Completely soaked in its own juices it soaked through the brown paper bag and sandwich fell out! They put the sandwich on the bottom. The food needs heavier paper bags Make the sandwich fresh before delivery! I feel, I received a reject by someone else. Could not eat it!

Best pastrami I've had in a long time! It's REAL pastrami my new food place to go when we are in Boston

Everything here was great except for the portion of pastrami. I was so hungry that i didn't want to take it back and fight over it. It did it's job and i have room leftover for dessert. It was crunchy, it was creamy and when i had pastrami, it was meaty and full of flavor. They have a huge selection of these craft sodas. Like 10 flavors! I got a peach one. I loved it so much, i went back and got a pineapple! So refreshing!

This really was a scrumptious sandwich on a yummy gluten-free toasted bread. There was plenty of meat in the pastrami sandwich, and the other toppings complemented it nicely. It was a little on the higher priced side for my preference, but I was traveling with my water bottle, so I just opted out of buying a drink from them. The service was amazing. The location is super fun, too!

Highly recommend coming to Beantown Pastrami- excellent Pastrami Rueben Sandwich- picked cabbage, Russian Dressing and Swis Cheese then Panama style served warm. Located in Boston Market- -top 10 Reuben in US!

Pastrami on sourdough with swiss cheese and mayo. This is after I took a few bites though LOL

Delicious but became pretty one note halfway through (that's a personal problem though and isn't contributing to the lost star). Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 3/5** Nice guy but removing a star for no mask and removing another star because he wrapped the sandwich with dirty, sauced-up gloves, which meant when I was unwrapping my sandwich, the oil and grease and sauce on the paper got all over my hands. The wrapping paper is supposed to keep your hands clean! **Decor and cleanliness, 4/5** This is located in Boston Public Market, which is very gorgeous and clean inside! Just the no mask made me feel like everything was slightly less safe. **Price and portion size, 4/5** I got a full sandwich (~$19) to split with a friend and it wasn't as big as I expected, but that's okay because it's still very filling with the generous portion of meat. **Presentation of the food, 2/5** Just a paper wrap would've been totally fine but the outside was super dirty and greasy from the sauce. Other stalls in BPM have much more thoughtful presentation of their food. **Taste, 5/5** The pastrami itself takes this review from 3 to 4 stars. It's thick-cut and sooo juicy and tender. The way it's sliced too makes it so easy to eat! It's well seasoned and not tough or chewy at all, so I have no regrets about trying this place out. If I ever come back, I'll probably just order a half sandwich and might even split that with someone, so I can really enjoy the pastrami without getting too full or tired of the tons of meat.

The 1/4 lb. Pastrami Sandwich on gluten free bread

My first Pastrami Sandwich did not disappoint! I got it on gluten free bread and it was really good!! Love the market this place is in such a pretty cool spot to walk around! The man at the counter was quick and efficient but made the sandwich really well!! If I lived in Boston this would be my new spot for both a pretty good quality and inexpensive sandwich!

Stopped in for a pastrami grilled Rachel . 14.95 1.00 for 1/2 pickle Well, I'm embarrassed I wasted hard earned money during inflationary times. The sandwich was grilled and bread had greasy touch vs other Reuben's where rye bread is toasted grilled . Now; I am used to nice Jewish deli pastrami sandwiches like I eat at Mikes in Brookline or elsewhere... at least they put some flavorful lean sliced home made pastrami in a sandwich for 16 bucks... here at Beantown very few pieces were cold like pre sliced days in advance, no meat flavor, just real bad for a place calling itself Beantown Pastrami... must be counting the pastrami slices like beans to assure just enough to legally call a pastrami sandwich. Vs. a cole slaw grill cheese melt. Cole slaw in sandwich was redeeming but not enough to salvage this mess . 1/2 pickle for a buck extra was lousy to... like 3 days out of pickle juice... not cut fresh from the pickle jug... I'll stay away and drive the 15 minutes further to Mike's for pastrami. Boston public market s close to better sandwich spots in North End... I take the blame for this bad decision to never repeat. Beantown better to just sell grill cheeses or pastrami dust , or just scented pastrami sandwiches without the meats... who has the meats from commercials... not at this place... Boston Public market needs better offerings or not worth parking garage charges even with the validation. My last advice... just go to North end for better sandwiches.

This is for sure a 3.5 star review but I just can't give them 4. I ordered the Pastrami Reuben for my first meal in Boston! What to like? You can see then slicing their Pastrami and Corned Beef when making the sandwiches so you know this is fresh quality meats. I asked them what is their favorite sandwich was and they told me Pastrami Reuben so that's what I had to go to. Now they do theirs a little different. They use Pickled Coleslaw instead of Sauerkraut which is actually better for me since I'm not the biggest Sauerkraut fan. I will say this Rueben was for sure on the better end of what I can get in Jacksonville but it's just no where near where top Delis are making their sandwiches. Again, big fan of the Pickled Coleslaw but the Pastrami was just ok. it's just not the melt in your mouth stuff that I have had and some bites were a bit tough. All and all good sandwich and I was happy with it but just not something I'm going out of my way to tell people about.

We ordered the Pastrami Sandwich and the Traditional Reuben. Both were pretty good but I thought the pastrami was better than the corned beef.

But I'm actually writing about the company's website and phone recording. Once, on a prior holiday, and today due to a winter storm, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was open. In both cases (where the restaurant turned out to be closed), the website (appropriately) didn't allow online orders, and (more importantly) THE OUTGOING PHONE RECORDING WAS UPDATED WITH CURRENT INFORMATION. In an era where businesses barely have phone numbers to call, or employees who answer with something other than 'hello', is rare (and by the way, this is the fault of management if they don't properly train their staff). THANK YOU FOR HAVING YOUR SHIT TOGETHER IN COMMUNICATING YOUR HOURS TO THE PUBLIC. I, for one, appreciate it.

Sam LaGrassa's is a Boston legend that's lost its way…read more As a local, I used to defend Sam LaGrassa's to anyone who called it a tourist gimmick. It was the gold standard for a real sandwich in the city. Sadly, the magic has faded. Between the soaring prices and the shrinking portions, the value just isn't there anymore. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! It should have gold in it! Even then, I'd keep coming once in awhile if the service was worth it. but honestly - the staff seems burnt out even bright early in the morning. It's hard to justify the premium price for a shadow of what this place used to be.

I ordered a chicken salad on a croissant with pickles, onions, and lettuce and it was really good. The best part is you can pretty much build whatever sandwich you want- breakfast or lunch. They've also got plenty of drinks, chips, and treats to choose from. Service is crazy fast too. They had my order ready in no time. There's a small bar setup with a few stools and a couple of tiny tables, so you can sit and eat quickly, but I wouldn't rely on getting a seat if it's busy or if you're with a group. My custom sandwich was $10, which felt reasonable. They've been around for 32 years, which says a lot. Definitely one of those local spots worth supporting. I'll 100% be back. Highly recommend.

I still can't believe that I only just found out about the place despite frequenting the downtown area and working close by for nearly a decade. They're quick counter service and serve a few simple items for breakfast and lunch, mostly sandwiches. So far I've had the pastrami egg sub and the yahoo sandwich. They're both good, but I'd have to say the yahoo is the winner so far as far as the sandwiches go. You can order online, which is a big plus for me and it's very easy to customize items through the online ordering portal. I also happen to really like their iced coffee, too. It's nice to see that there are still simple, no frills spots that execute good tasing food at a reasonable price, and Archie's is definitely one of those spots.
